im looking foward to the N5, it might be nintendos last shot. If it screws up i at least hope nintendo games will be on another console. N5 for Nintendo is do or die and i sure hope they dont die.

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Nintendo has like 90% of the handheld market and the only contestant that's gonna pose a real threat might be the PSP. They still have enough profit to continue to make quality consoles. But yes, if they screw up now, they might stop making consoles and focus on the handheld market.

Xbox 2: it doesn't have backwards compatibility (it can play Xbox 1 games) because then they would have to add the old CD reader and we'd be stuck with an Xbox that's as huge as the one we now know.

PS3: I hope that this time, they've got an impressive release date line up. Because when the PS2 came out, it took MONTHS before something decent came out.

N5: well, this little (of course it(ll be little) machine is shrouded in mystery. There have been a few important Nintendo people saying that it'll be 'a whole new gaming experience'. But they still don't wanna support on-line play :(

So I don't really know yet, they've all got their pro's and cons, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

#1: MS didnot confirm anything on backward compatibility, so this is not true.
#2: Your comment about ps 2 not having good games when it came out is a false statement. How old were you at the time? 5 year old? LMAO
#3: You are still misleading people with the bogus info. The nintendo people commented 'a whole new gaming experience' on Nintedo DS, not the new GameCube.

Finally, if you are going to post anything, do some research, do not post what you hear from you friends. Peace OUt

1# Quote from www.gearbits.com:

"Since the original Xbox makes use of Intel and Nvidia chips, backward compatibility isn't guaranteed."

Okay, I admit it, it isn't official, but is is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that xbox 2 will be backwards compatible.

2# Launch titles when PS2 came out:

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/080/080661p1.html

Which ones did you like? I didn't like any of them and most people do agree that the launch games were rather weak (and I'm talking about respected games sites that thought so).

An example of a good launch titel line-up would be Dreamcast (Sonic adventure, Shenmue, Virtua Tennis, SEGA GT2002,...) and Xbox (Halo, Jet Set Radio Future, Mechassault,...)

3# okay, I might have gotten a little confused about the Nintendo, I apologize for that.

I'm awaiting you reply...

My pick has to be PS3 for a few reasons:

1. Since there is a big chance that MK:Deception will be successful on PS2, MK7 will no doubt be on PS3.

2. Great titles such as Gran Turismo and GTA have made playstation a very popular system.

3. Finally gamepad design, which I was disappointed with the x-box (dreamcast copycat) controller.

Well I'm gonna be vauge and just go on the info that I have, which is never a wise decission.

Cube2:Hmmm the way Nintendo thinks is very close minded. It will be their doom.

XBox2: Well I've heard they're looking into emulation for getting the XBox 1 games to work. There might not be a hard drive on the start up model.

PS3: Well it has a following, and I hated it for shafting the other consoles on ports.

Hmm either PS3 or Xbox2. The reason I love my Xbox is the hard drive and its online capabilites which I'm taking advantage of, and they came right out the box. XBox 2 seems to be removing some of those, so not good. Nintendo seems to be very close minded (Japanese repeating history again?) and not embracing new methods and in fact saying the whole gaming industry is wrong and bickering about it makes me hate Nintendo. Sony better make a more durable machine. It's gonna need some launch titles.

Only thing I know is in the future I'm getting a widescreen HDTV. I've already got the 5.1 system. If a system can take full advantage of the 2 then I'll buy it (currently that is XBox).

look this is really going nowhere, the title just screams console war...

I will however supply my input, like how the N5 will have the best attributes of the three... starting with sony's CELL technology and the ATi graphics card that Microsoft wants to use... as well as a compatible online connection similar to the live method, but more consumer friendly. Laych titles by the assload, like Too Human a game thats been 7+ years in development by Silicon Knights who leaked information on also working on a realistic Zelda title(SK are the ones who brought you The Original Legacy of Kain series and Eternal Darkness, and the recently released MGS:TTS) a new Mario game backward compatability, plus the ton of other franchises that are becoming more readily available... sooo there...

For the xbox bacward compatibility, according to leaked xbox2 specs, xbox 2 will have multiple cpu's. MS can still do software emulation with no problem since they know xbox inside out.

For the ps2 launch titles, DOA2:Hardcore, Midnight Club, Dynesty Wariors 2, Moto GP, Unreal Tournament, and the most important of all Tekken Tag Tournement are very good titles IMO. I would have bought ps2 just for Tekken Tag Tournement of which I am a big fan. I still think that ps2 had good launch titles unless you are a die hard rpg fan. I do admit ps2 didnt have good rpg games at launch, but then I care less about rpg games since I am not into them.

By the way, I also apologize for being too harsh on you, dude. You sound cool. Peace out.

The PS3 for many reasons:

1.) I’ve always been a Sony fan.
2.) Never was into X-box or Game Cube so I don’t care much about their counsels
3.) I want to play the sequels to good games like Metal Gear, Winning Eleven soccer .and so on
4.) PS3 for life baby wink

Don't get me wrong, I do hope that xbox 2 will be backwards compatible but I'm afraid that if it's going to cost too much, they'll throw away the idea. That would make them loose lot's of fans though.

You mentioned 6 titles you liked when PS2 was launched, there were however, 29 titles launched.

Yes, I am an RPG-fan (not fanatic though) but I also like shooters, beat-em ups, platform and strategy games. The only games I'm not very interested in are sports and race.

DOA2: I played 3 and I thought it was too easy, you could just button smash your wy through the game. After some practice (learning al the counters and longer combo's) I found no big difference.

TTT: I like Tekken, I don't love it, bit I don't hate it either. The problem with TTT is the fact that it's just a combination of Tekken 1, 2 and 3 Granted, it has got better graphics, but still, it didn't improve over the original. (That's one of the reasons I never liked MKTrilogy, apart from the fact that it was bugged and had hideous graphics)

UT: play "Quake III Arena", it's better :P

I do agree with you on the backward compatibility, if MS takes out the backward compatibility, it would make a BIG mistake. However, it still wouldnt affect my decision in buying the next xbox. This goes same for the other platforms also. I am pretty sure there are going to be some good exlusive titles that I will want to have on all systems. Anyway, this is all I got to say about this discussing thread. Peace Out
