All they had to do was make Raiden a girl, and remodel his face so that it would be structured like someone that isn't a mutant. He was more than a girly man, his face was plain f'ed up, and his hair just didn't measure right with the concept art.

Here's an interesting tid bit about the voice actor for Solid Snake. He wrote the screenplays for X-men, X-men 2, and The Scorpion King. He was a on an award show called the Spaceys last night to present two awards and he is a hillarious guy. he also said (and demonstrated) that he drinks rum before doing the voice in order to prepare. really funny guy.

ACtually, wasn't David Hayter also in Guyver 2:Dark Hero, as the actual actor who was the Guyver in the movie? It was a cheap knock-off of the Anime series, but I am almost certain that it was in fact him. Oh, as for my Vote... gotta go with Snake. I just never really got into the whole patriotic feel... I like the more renegade-style that Snake has, "doesn't wanna do it, but has to" kinda thing.

His exact quote is "David" though, right?

Also, hang off the back end of the tanker, and notice the name "Diccovery".
Both characters are products of their environments. One is a simulation-based character, who's personality is secondary to the game itself, and the other is a fictional super-hero, straight out of an action movie...
Referring to actual gameplay:
I'd actually like to see Snake handle some guards who can actually see more than 6 feet in front of their faces and actually "hunt" as opposed to going "oh well, back to watch". Make the enemies "listen" to crap besides the knock on a door, the occasional floor panel noise, or a gunshot. Make it to where you actually have to "sneak" up behind them.
Also, give him a tiny life bar, a tiny bit of ammo, and ask him to traverse a zip line or negotiate horizontal pipes that you have to cling to. Get Snake to shoot an enemy WHILE using another as a shield, and make the patrolling enemies see anything moving in the light. Even better, see if Snake can "jump".
He's got the cardboard box, though, as cheesy as it is.
It's character vs. actual gaming ability...

Snake can beat almost anything. It's not that he's the best stealth fighter *only. It's that he can win in impossible odds.
