Well, by Christmas time the price will come down more that it already has in the last 4-6 months. I think if MKD has better gameplay on the PS2 than the XBox, then get it when it's nice and cheap.

Me Personally, I feel the Xbox is a much better buy. Better Graphics, Faster loading times, S-Type Controller, Better Online Network.

Besides Console exclusives (Twin Snakes, San Andreas until it comes out on Xbox, RPG's) I really don't see how anyone would go with a PS 2 over an Xbox.

It seems as though it really comes down to the games. Most of the games coming out nowadays are coming out for both systems anyway.

Also.. Keep in mind the Xbox has an internal Memory and Custom Soundtrack feature for some games.

But like I said.. It's all a matter of preference. But if I was to go with a system and I was reading a post similar to this one, I'd have to go with an Xbox.

Doesn't PS2 have a shitload more games for it than Xbox does in general? In other words, PS2 has a BIGGER selection to choose from, meaning it's really not even a matter of opinion as to which console has the best game selection.

This isn't to bash Xbox or anything, I have Xbox (my dad gave me a choice of either system, since he could get one free in a special offer from a wholesaler his business deals with) and I'm content with my decision. I don't play a huge number of video games, so Xbox's limited library doesn't bother me. And while some say the controller is too damn big, I got used to it quickly.

Anyway, as far as whether or not to get the PS2, you're the only one who can answer that. Can you afford it? Is there anything else you plan to buy that will make the PS2 harder to afford? If so, how high is the PS2 on your priorities list? If you're debating between PS2 and Xbox, compare the strengths and weaknesses of each, and determine which serves your purposes better.

I'm NOT trying to bash Xbox, but between grafics and selection of games... I'd pick selection of games.
Besides, the grafic difference isn't that big.
So, dude owner of the thread, if you can afford it, go for it. I bought a PS2 three years ago and I DON'T regret one bit.

I pretty much agree with you, all the way. PS2 has provided me with some of the best video game experiences ever (Twisted Metal: Black and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty were the reasons I bought it) But if you're getting it for the sake of games that are released on BOTH systems, then buy an Xbox(no contest).

I'm facing the eXACT sam decition... and I go for PS2, the Ps games aare much better than those for x-box, and the controllers are FAR better

A bigger game slection doesn't mean they are all better. I have seen really crappy games for both the consoles.

I have to buy one of those two weak machines just to play MKD, and i hate it, just to buy one console for one game.
