57% of Republicans support making Christianity the official national religion in a new poll from PPP.


This is madness. If you don't like secular government then please move to Iran or Saudi Arabia. Your Bible is not the Constitution.

This is rather frightening if you are part of the non-Christian minority in this country. Sigh.

If you'r referring to the title I wrote for the topic, it's not 'trollbait' when I am referring to the results of an actual poll. It wasn't a smear but a statement of fact. The majority of Republicans apparently support theocracy, according to this poll.

Jesus Christ is the only way.Religion doesnt matter...ur acceptance of Christ matters.Dont get me wrong...people can call themselves a christian but be far from it.So to me,it doesnt matter what ur religious group name is but u better believe God sacraficed his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

I mean look at the pope...i dont praise him at all! He is a man...a sinner,and people worship him like hes sacred.

It is kind of strange(it should't be) talking bout God n Jesus to a bunch of blood thirsty MK fans lol

It's just a poll, it doesn't mean anything tangible. Also, that's not an AP website so I'm questionable on the "facts" the article presents as much as I do the methodology of the survey. Data was gathered by a poll from a total of 316 people (Republican voters) nationally in a country of 318.9 million. Hardly representative of anything other than this website "reporting" click bait articles severely out of context to boost views.

Regardless, why are you surprised that a specific niche opinionated political population sample has specific, niche, agenda based opinions?
This site seems biased against Republicans despite claiming "agenda free unbiased reporting". There's a litter of stupid ass op-ed blogs on the internet that masquerade as actual news sites. You see them in your facebook feed all the time. Some of them are even intentionally satirical.
Fun fact!
It's easy to misrepresent data findings and take them out of context for a misleading agenda based article/report. Which, might I remind, is the exact OPPOSITE of news. It's agenda based misinformation pretending to be news. ANY time you see an article or a "news report" that cites research data as justification for the tone, "facts", and opinion of said article...always always ALWAYS check the methodology of the research where the data is supposed to come from.

Are you really going to deny that the Republican party has tons of Christian Dominionists in it? Come to East Texas where I live, sir. You will find tons of theocratic fascists who want to impose Christianity on everyone. It is a very common viewpoint here. In any sane country, a religious fascist like Mike Huckabee would not be a major figure within one of the two major political parties. He would be a crank not welcome in any mainstream setting. Yet here we are...

I believe you misunderstood me. You see, troll-bait doesn't necessarily have to be a nonsense topic, it need only attract trolls. You chose a topic that includes both politics and religion, the sweetest of the troll nectar. Knowing your audience and whether or not that audience will react in a manner in which you desire is important. I see no win with this topic.
