Some MK characters get their names from religious leaders?
K. Well, first off. In 500 BCE when the religions Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism were thought of, some of the leaders of these religions have comparison between theirs, and an MK character's name.
For example, the Confucianism leader's name was of course, Confucius, and his real name was K'ung. Also in that era, the Taoism leader's name happens to be Lao-Tzu. Once you think about it, K'ung and Lao-Tzu were in the same time era, and when combined, make the name of K'ung Lao-Tzu,and/or Kung Lao
Also, 3,000 years ago (not sure on BC, or AD), when the Hindu religion was considered thought of, they believe in two gods. The goddess of death and destruction, known as Shiva, and the god of peace and justice,Vishnu. Now this book says Shiva may also be pronounced as Sheevah, and/or Sheeva. It kinda fits that personality into Sheeva, doesnt it?
But what if religious people feel terrible that a game has their certain gods and Goddesses beating to the death? They would feel terrible...and what would happen to Midway?
Or is this just a mere coincedence?
Did I mention Onaga is a fish?

Is it just me or is Onaga as a fish scarier than the Emperor of Outworld.
As for the topic, Sheeva is pretty obvious, as for Kung Lao I didn't know that. But the use and altering of names is a really not as bad as what other things do. Also, while we're talking about names. Sionnach is Irish for fox. Sionnach-Shinnok? Nah...meh..I know..

It's spelled Daoism, but pronounced taoism.

sheeva makes sense, since shiva was a 6-armed godess, an abnormality posessed by the shoka (minus 2 arms), and i wouldnt of known kung lao in a million years.

Because he was a religious leader, but not a deity. Jesus and the Wolfman were.
