Just to add my own two pence on this.
The amount of times I've been stung by Capcom and their DLC.
Classic example -
Resident Evil 5's 2 DLC packs were sold separately for the first two weeks.
I bought them.
They are then released in a cheaper, single bundle the week after.
Same thing with the Street Fighter Costumes.
That's why I'm weary about Capcom and DLC.

If i were to choose, i would choose SFxT. But that has a giant chance of not happening, due to the fact that Eddy Gordo and Akuma havent been announced.... but i am fucking happy Guile and Cammy made it :D
Also Steve Fox and Hworang..... needs more Akuma and Eddy :/

I couldn't see Akuma NOT being in the game. He will be. As for Eddy, I'm sure him OR Christie will be playable. Either way one of them will definitely be in the game. No question.
The guys I want however... Armor King and Blanka.. Might not make it.

Wait.
Boon, Ono, Harada, Itakagi and now Dashi.
Is there anyone who works on a fighting game and isn't a troll?

Can't wait to get Street Fighter x Tekken. Its gonna fill the CvS sized hole in my heart. SoulCalibur might be fun but button mashing gets you too far in that game. I like the character designs, I like the guest character shtick they got, but I just don't like the gameplay much.

I'm waiting to see "TEKKEN VS SF",the Namco game which Harada San said it could be 1 vs 1 and use 6 buttons.

I'm curious about that one. I wish they would release some details about it.

Dunno.
On the Street Fighter X Tekken side, you have the gem system and some interesting new characters.
But its clearly Street Fighter 4 with tagging and weird Tekken flavoured characters
On the Soul Calibur V side, you seem to have an improved create mode, story mode, critical edge moves and other things
But, Jesus Christ that roster is lacking. I mean if it had at least Talim and Zas, It would be ok. But really another sword and shield character? One can hope for DLC though. Or maybe the missing characters are in the CAS mode and they just couldn't be fucked with designing a new Zas/Talim/Yun/Sets/Rock.
Personally, because I am a big fat Soul Calibur whore, I'm looking forward to SCV more.
Plus I've been bitten too many times with Capcom and their DLC BS to feel comfortable with buy SFXT outright.
Truthfully. It you cant decide, wait a while see what happens to the price or DLC BS or whatever. They, at the very least, seem competently made.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on both games. I'm leaning more toward SCV, as I still have fond memories of Soul Calibur on Dreamcast at launch and how amazing that game was back then, but IV just didn't hold my interest as much III, which didn't hold my interest as much as II.
But I still love me some SC.
As for SFXT, I can't help but look at that game and see nothing but SF4. I haven't seen a single gameplay video that makes me excited to buy it. The Tekken characters all seem kinda lame to me, and that's coming from a Tekken fan. Add to that the DLC and the inevitable Super Turbo Delux Champion Edition that'll probably come out and eh... Pass, even if I almost always buy a fighting game. I think I'll wait on this one. Or at least wait until Tekken X Street Fighter, if/when that ever comes out.

I heard those peeps at Necrostorm were working on this ill game called Death Cargo...

I'm not really crazy about either.
Capcom's fighting games have been lacking for some time.
Street Fighter has been thoroughly boring and depressing for years.
Street Fighter IV was boring, Super Street Fighter IV was boring, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition looks just as boring.
MvC3 was a hollow game, once again lacking severely in the fun factor.
SFx Tekken doesn't look particularly fun either.
In terms of Soul Calibur, I've been disappointed with every game past II (other than III, just because it introduced Setsuka.) This game got rid of too many characters, introduced a bunch of lame new ones, and looks pretty stagnant in terms of gameplay (which is okay, I guess).
The only really good thing SCV has going for it is its in-depth Create-a-Soul mode.
I'll probably get SCV, somewhere down the road, unless (by some miracle) SF x T actually turns out to be fun.

Street Fighter X Tekken for me. Game looks awesome and has my 2 favorite Tekken characters in it. Asuka and Xiaoyu
Neither (for a time being).
SC5 roster looks like it was cut in the last minute to prepare some delicious DLC characters or "Super" edition down the road.
SFxT - besides it looks like SF4, it is inevitable that there will be some sort of update later.
So, I'll wait and see what both companies will do with their new games.
However SC5 I will buy anyway, but not before I'll be sure that there will not new version of the game. SFxT I'll probably buy if I have some free money in the future.

Already have SC5 preordered but that is mostly due to the fact I had a gigantic gift card from Christmas and not enough games I actually wanted to spend it on. Either way I'm still a fan of SC and the roster I find is actually refreshing. I think it's a good thing every now and then get rid of the sacred cows everyone loves so much just to keep things interesting (coming from an avid Seong Mina and Talim lover).
SF X Tekken though I don't know. I mean maybe but I just don't see myself playing it a lot so I'll probably pass on it.

Just because SFxTekken uses SF4 engine and has recycled SSF4 models doesn't mean its exactly like SF4.
The battles are fought 2vs2.
This comes with many techniques that take advantage of the tag-team concept, such as Cross Rush and the launchers.
Only one opponent needs to be K.O'd when winning a round.
You don't have to play alone, you can invite a friend to control the other character (Like in the MK9 tag mode)
You can also TRAIN ONLINE with a friend.
No focus attack technique.
Only Super Combos, no Ultra Combos. Added Cross Arts, Cross Assaults, Scramble etc. (F.Y.I. Super Arts/Super Combos are imporant since unlike Ultras, they can be cancelled instantly from normals or specials)
Also, in general the gameplay is a lot flashier and quicker than the SF4 series, because now a lot of stuff cancels into a lot of other stuff easily.
Only Super Cauge, no Revenge Cauge. Super Cauge has also been reduced from 5 bars to 3 bars, and a Super Art takes two bars.
The gems. Although they don't look really good. If the tournament version is going to be gem-free, though, I'm happy.
Pandora mode. You can risk the game by "killing off" your other character, giving the other one a really good power-boost. However, if you can't knock your opponent out in time, you will lose instantly.
Tekken characters will have some of their combos from the Tekken games, which should work pretty much like they always did.
And I guess there's more to be announced. But even this would be enough for me. Instant buy.

I really, really hate the idea of one partner is dead...so you lose the whole round.
Both people should have to be eliminated to take the round.
It defeats the purpose of it being a 2v2 to be honest. It essentially comes out to mean, "It doesn't matter how much health your partner had left, how good that left over character is, or how good your partner is.

Not to mention that the Tekken characters can retain their 4 button layout. And @Espio the concept behind the one character knock out is to make the match more strategic. It puts more emphasis on tagging. Making a much more challenging fight.

While I hate that idea as well, it is only partial true. There is Pandora mode that lets you sacrifice a player who's health is less than 25%, to boost the stats of your other character and give him an infinite super gauge. The catch is you have less than 8 seconds to finish your opponent and win the match or you lose the fight automatically.
