Yes, this thread has been done before, but I'm going to make it more free-form this time. Instead of having you randomly select songs (and be at the mercy of iTunes), I'll let you pick and choose what you think fits best in each category, but give reasons why. Here goes:
Open Credits: Soothsayer- Buckethead
I think Soothsayer is one of the most epic songs ever, and whenever I listen to it I just feel like time stops. I can't help but get lost in the song, so to open with this (or at least from the beginning to the solo) would be the perfect way to ease people in.
Birth: Welcome to the Jungle- Guns 'N Roses
The world really is a jungle, and in life you need to fight for what you want, so Welcome to the Jungle seems like the way I entered the world, just knowing that nothing comes easy.
Awakening: Feel Good Inc.- Gorillaz
I don't remember anything before the age of 3, but from what I do remember, life was good. Feel Good Inc. fits here because of it's almost whimsical beat, and it's about how people just want to be happy until they realize it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Time for School: Fall Back Down- Rancid
Remember the first "best friend" you ever made? Well this is exactly the kind of song that fits here because I remember when I met this kid that I wasn't going to let anything befall him, but if it did then I would be there to get him back on his feet.
Ridicule: I Am Hated- Slipknot
On the opposite side of the coin, that first time you get made fun of for something ridiculous, you feel like the world is out to get you and you just want to scream. Slipknot may be a bit extreme of a pick here, but I like the song and I think it fits.
First Crush: When You Were Young- The Killers
Oh man, listen to the first verse of this song and you'll see why I picked it. This is exactly what my first crush was like, and while we're not at all in touch anymore, I think she made the right call in rejecting me. I was too young and stupid back then, and I doubt I could have made her happy.
Pumped Up: Jordan- Buckethead
I almost picked BYOB by System here, but I didn't because Jordan just elevates me so much right before I go play sports. Whenever I listen to Jordan I feel like I can do anything, even play it in Guitar Hero, which of course will never happen, but you get the idea.
Paranoid: Waiting on the World to Change- John Mayer
You're probably curious about this one. I'm kind of anti-establishment/government, being a libertarian, and I think that the solution to the problems that Mayer outlines are to just go back to the old days of laissez-faire, but with everything, not just economics.
Heartbroken: In Between- Linkin Park or Valentine's Day- Linkin Park
Go listen to In Between if you haven't already. I've practically lived this song over the last 3 months thanks to the messy breakup I was in, and I'm really to blame for most of it, so you'll see why I picked it. Also, Valentine's Day works here because that song is basically the aftermath of what happened to me, so listen to that one too.
Recovery: Over You- Daughtry
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song in that 3 month time-frame. It's the perfect song to pick yourself up after a breakup, it certainly made me feel somewhat better recently.
Road Trip: When I'm Gone- Simple Plan
I just got back into this song after a hiatus, and this gets the nod for best driving song (just ahead of Only the Young by Journey and Downtown Train by Rod Stewart) because it's all about getting out into the world on your own, skipping town and never coming back. Kind of like the road trips I'm aspiring to take someday.
Flashback: Before I Forget- Slipknot
Perfect song here because of the chorus and the title alone, because I've been having a ton of flashbacks recently and the chorus just fits them nicely. It also helps that I'm a big fan of the song and I feel this is Slipknot's best work.
Bar Scene: Say It Ain't So- Weezer
I didn't pick this because of the alcohol references, but simply because the bridge describes what my friends have become, and the chorus kind of describes my life at the moment. I feel that "my love" really is "a life taker" as of late.
Proposal: Paradise By the Dashboard Lights- Meatloaf
Kind of an ironic choice here, but the end result of the song makes some kind of sense in today's society. I would never want to go through a divorce, but I enjoy the song and the end parts describe the decision-making processes of a lot of people, so I feel that it fits.
Marriage: Faithfully- Journey
In my opinion, this is the ultimate marriage song.
Honeymoon: You Shook Me All Night Long- AC/DC
Kind of a bitter pick here because this was the song that me and my ex tabbed as "our song," but I picked it more for the sex references, since we all know that's pretty much all that happens on honeymoons.
Parenthood: Tiny Dancer- Elton John
I've always viewed little kids as tiny dancers when they try to walk for the first time, because they stumble around so awkwardly that it looks like they're one of those music box dancers. Being a parent is the greatest joy one can ever experience, and I'm sure once I experience it I'll never forget it.
Crisis: Kashmir- Led Zeppelin
Just because it sounds so ominous, really. Kashmir makes me feel like something bad is about to happen to somebody, but I still love listening to it because it's another one of those songs that just grabs me.
Days Are Numbered: Bittersweet Symphony- The Verve
This song is good for knowing that you're in a losing battle. You feel like you can change yourself to benefit others, and that maybe you can see it through and ultimately come out on top, but deep down in the pit of your heart you just know that it's all but over.
Last Gasp: Leave Out All The Rest- Linkin Park
Great song when discussing memories and legacies, I wish this song had come out sooner, like back when I was in high school, because one of my favorite professors used to always tell me that only I can shape the legacy that I leave once I graduate, and he was right. I've probably learned more life lessons from this guy than anyone else I've ever known, and I owe him a lot in return.
Death: Goodbye My Lover- James Blunt
Ah, yes. The tear-jerker on this list. I cried the first few times I listened to this song, because it was back when my relationship was beginning to falter, and I feared that this would be the fate (turns out it was) if I didn't turn myself around quickly. I also like this for a death song because it's very emotional in the chorus and the piano-only melodies are just beautiful.
Funeral: Free Fallin'- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Yea, this song doesn't make much sense here, but I just picked it for the bridge and the chorus, because it makes sense there to me.
Close Credits: Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin
The greatest song of all time (by some accounts) can't go missing on this list. I think this the perfect choice to end this movie with.
I look forward to your responses.

About Me
The future seemed so bright.
But this thing turned out so evil,
I don’t know why I’m still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes,
And you take that to new extremes.
But you’ll always be my hero,
Even though you lost your mind...

Open Credits: Rihanna - Umbrella
No real significance, its just my all time fave song, so i have to have it at the beginning lol.
Birth: Amy Pearson: Ready To Fly
Im lovin' this song, and its about being let to be free and being your own person, but i think more in a love context. Still, it relates to being born in the sense that its about being released into this world and being who u want to be.
Awakening: Hilary Duff - Wake Up
Well.. kinda obvious, no comment lol. Songs not about waking up, but its titles good enough.
Time for School: Nancy Ajram - Shakhbat Shakhabit
A song about drawing pretty much haha, its a childrens song, but its rly rly good. "if you want to draw, then draw, but dont draw on the walls" - it has this whole kiddy feel to it, and it reminds me of kindergarten lol.
Ridicule: Delta Goodrem - I Dont Care
Pretty much how i deal with ridicule - "i dont care what they say, i dont care what they do.." More about love, but still, a good attitude to have/
First Crush: Lena Katina - Belochka
Really immature lyrics about love, and usually first crushes you are a bit in denial about it because you've never felt that way, so it suits. Its about being confused about love; "maybe i should just be a squirrel" to make life easier. Not to mention it was sang by a girl when she was 13, so it presents a relevant perspective.
Pumped Up: t.A.T.u - Clowns
I got no idea what the songs about, but it pumps me up haha. Its rly fast pace and the lyrics make no sense - "see me here in the air not holding on to anywhere but holding on, so beware" - but yeh.. its a great song to get pumped up to cause its just got such a great beat.
Paranoid: Rihanna: Breakin' Dishes
God I love this song, and it goes so well here. "Is he cheatin'? Man i dunno.. im lookin' round for somethin else to throw". Its basically Rihanna being paranoid about her relationship with her man, and then goin crazy... "im roastin marshmallows on the fire and what im burning up is yo attire". Fits greatly lolz.
Heartbroken: Jojo - Leave (Get Out)
Classic song about having been heartbroken and the emotions you go through, not to mention it includes the lyrics "and my heart is breaking with every word im saying". So yeh, it perfectly shows how shallow some ppl are and cheat, and then the consequences on the person who was cheated on.
Recovery: The Veronicas - Revenge is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were)
One of my all time favourite songs, i just love it. Its about coping when someones cheated on you, and as the title suggests, revenge is sometimes the best way to cope. "Nothin can save u now that its over, i guess that you'll find out when ur no one, dont say ur sorry now cause i just dont care.."
Road Trip: Rihanna - Shut Up and Drive
Sorry.. couldnt resist haha. Whats a road trip without driving? lol. And a road trip with Rihanna is an even better road trip, so yeh.. its kinda a neccessity imo
Flashback: Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes
"Do you remember when you were 7 and the only thing that you wanted to do was show your mum that you could play the piano" - its all about flashbacks into her past.
Bar Scene: t.A.T.u - All The Things She Said
No idea what a bar scene is, but i wanna include this song cause i love it haha. So yer.. no real significance but i can squeeze it in here i guess lol
Proposal: Whitney Houston? - I will always love you
Perfect proposal music i think. Just a nice song, and about love and stuff. So yeh.. haha
Marriage: t.A.T.u - You and I
Well, it quite blatantly has the lyric in the chorus "you and i sanctified", but it still describes in a really deep and touching way the emotion of love - "you believe in what we are you believe in what will be you and me". It fits in perfectly imo.
Honeymoon: Akon - I wanna f*ck you
What else do you do on a honeymoon? lolz
Parenthood: Guns n Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine
Some contestant sang it on Australian Idol a few years ago, so thats how i know about it lmao. But yeh, obvious song for parenthood lol.
Crisis: t.A.T.u - Null And Void
"My life is null and void... dismantelled and destroyed" - not much more i can say there lol. I'm pretty sure that shows the EMOtions felt when someone goes through a severe crisis.
Days Are Numbered: Delta Goodrem - Last Night On Earth
Not only is it probably my favourite song ever, the title goes so well with my last days. The song is about a whole different topic - "if tomorrow falls asleep, can you hold me first.. im gonna love u like its the last night on earth". Its more a love song, but still, its good enough.
Last Gasp: Ricki-Lee Coulter - Breathe
"Just breathe.. let it out and breathe".. well, its about breathing and therefore gasping. As you can tell im kinda out of ideas haha.
Death: t.A.T.u - Ne Zhaley
It means "Don't Regret" in English, which is exactly what i wanna do when i die - have no regrets.
Funeral: Delta Goodrem - Be Strong
"Cause when your in your darkest hour and all of the light just fades away, when your like a single flower and colours have turned to shades of grey, just hang on.. and be strong". A great message to ppl at my funeral, dont worry, im in a better place.. be strong.
Close Credits: Mika - Happy Ending
Well, I just hope it will be a happy ending, cause without happiness, life is pointless rly.
No real significance, its just my all time fave song, so i have to have it at the beginning lol.

About Me
My tastes have changed since I created this account over 4 years ago. I prefer being called Siklootd and now love heavy metal music.
0
Open Credits:
"S.O.S" by Skrapz
This is just an awesome song, seriously. Smooth melody, relaxing lyrics. I love this song, it's so smooth sounding with an easy piano and light drum loop while Skrapz raps some truly touching lyrics about life. A great song to open up my life with.
Birth:
"Origin Of Creation" by Q-Strange
The song is perfect for my birth. Q-Strange describes his birth as a science experiment gone bad. He is released upon the world despite the fact that the scientists were trying to keep him a secret. Once he enters the world he is disgusted by humanity and all he sees. That fits me perfectly, I've always felt different like if I was created differently than everyone else.
Awakening:
"Toy Box" by Insane Clown Posse
This song is great to describe my childhood. I used to play violently with toys as a child. I was playing Mortal Kombat at the age of 4! ICP describes themselves as kids using their toys to kill people, I might as well have been doing the same thing since I used to love Mortal Kombat, Primal Rage, Killer Instinct, and all of my action figures were violent too. I owned nothing but Spawn figures and Ghost Rider ones too, stuff too violent for a normal little kid to handle, but that's just it, I've always known the difference between fiction and reality. So, this ICP song is perfect.
Time for School:
"Homies" by Insane Clown Posse featuring Twiztid
When I was in school I was always about my friends. We did everything together. One time we even ganged up on another kid and beat the hell out of him. This song by ICP and Twiztid says that true homies stay together no matter what and that's how me and my friends were.
Ridicule:
"Some Get Back (Revenge)" by Necro
When I used to get bullied in school I would never take that shit laying down. Instead I would plot on ways to get back at the person, and it doesn't take much to get me pissed off either. I had so many fights in high school it isn't even funny. If I heard someone talking shit about me I would confront them. That's why this song by Necro is perfect. Necro talks about getting back at anyone who has crossed him. His lyrics just perfectly depict his revenge, you can feel his anger, that's the way I always used to get.
First Crush:
"She Comes Walkin" by Level Jumpers
Oh man, this song is perfect for how I felt with my first crush. The song talks about admiring a certain girl whenever she walks by, and how when she walks by you feel so much better, like if all your worries are gone. A smoothing background fits the song's theme perfectly and it always reminds me of my first crush. I really liked this one girl but was too scared to ask her out, but I loved being around her.
Pumped Up:
"Airborne" by HaLFBrEEd
This song just gets me really hyped up, it's so loud and the lyrics are so hardcore and violent. I can always get into a hyped up mood after listening to this song. Sometimes I feel like I can jump a mountain after hearing it. It's just so loud and Skrapz and The R.O.C. truly spit some very angry lyrics.
Or
"Fuck The World" by Insane Clown Posse
This song is just so violent, so angry, so full of cursing, you just can't help but get hyped up after listening to it. I love to listen to it when I need a good lift, afterwards I feel much better. The song is just perfect for getting your attitude pumped up, truly making you become hyped up and ready to take on anything!
Paranoid:
"Paranoid" by House Of Krazees
House of Krazees rap about assuming people are talking crap about them. They believe that everyone is out to get them, as a result they start a lot of unneccessary problems just because they assumed people were out to get them. This song fits my life perfectly, I always assume that everyone hates me when in reality they may not hate me at all. It's my paranoid thinking that causes me to fight sometimes and that's exactly what HOK describes in this song.
Heartbroken:
"Another Love Song" by Insane Clown Posse
ICP always talks about how women have been treating them like shit and this song has them finally taking their revenge on an ex girlfriend. After I finally had the nerve to ask the girl I liked out, I was pissed to have her tell me "No" and then her friends told me that she thought "me and my friends couldn't be trusted and we're disgusting". After hearing all of this I just got so pissed off, especially when the next week I saw her making out with some other guy. This song has Violent J plotting to get back on an ex-girlfriend for how she treated him, and that's how I was feeling.
Recovery:
"I Who Have Nothing" by Jedi Mind Tricks
This song talks about how even if you have nothing in your life you can still find inner peace. I guess you could say the song is even "enlightening". Jedi Mind Tricks are always rapping about reaching inner peace with one self (whenever they're not spitting horrorcore) and so this song is perfect in order to help someone get back onto their feet after anything bad.
Road Trip:
"Respirator" by Twiztid
Twiztid is my second favorite group of all time and this song proves why. On this track the duo really makes some great music. The song is just perfect to blast out of your car while you're driving. I do it all the time!
Flashback:
"Why You Gotta Lie" by NATAS
Looking back at my life I've noticed that I've dealt with a lot of liars. I've always wondered why people have to lie so much. NATAS talks about all the different lies they've dealt with in their lives and it always makes me think of all the people who have lied to me.
Bar Scene:
"Back Up" by Lo Key
I'm a violent person, I get in a lot of fights. I don't like to fight but it always happens. So I know that if I went to a bar I'm probably very likely going to get into a fight. This song has Lo Key telling people to leave him alone, just let him be because he doesn't want to have to fight with anyone. That's how I feel. I bet anything if I went to a bar I'd trying picking up some girl and her boyfriend's there and we'd end up in a fight. I wouldn't want to fight, but that's just what happens. That's why this song would be a good fit.
Proposal:
"Here I Am" by Critical Bill
A slow love song. It would be perfect for a proposal. I would love to find the perfect woman I could say "I told you I'd always love you, here I am". Critical Bill talks about always being there for someone, and that's what you're declaring when you propose.
Marriage:
"Always" by Zug Izland
A truly deep and touching love song. It mentions how no matter how bad things in life can get you've always got your partner to turn to. That's the way marriage should be. You should always have your wife's back no matter what in order to prove that you truly care for her, and that's what this song says.
Honeymoon:
"Do You Love Me?" by Skrapz
A nice song about love and what one will do for someone if they truly love them. It's got a nice beat that could actually help set the mood on a honeymoon, if you get my drift!
Parenthood:
"All I Know" by Skrapz
A song about being patient, about trying to be positive influences on others. That's the way I want to be with any kids I may have. I want to be a positive influence on their lives but I also need patience. Skrapz once again brings the mood to life with a smooth piano background that makes you really feel the song. I would need to try to remain as calm and patient as possible and remember that no one is perfect, that's what the song is about.
Crisis:
"Darkness" by Twiztid
Twiztid is great at making songs that really help you change your mood. At times in my life I feel like I too "have nothing but darkness in me". Listening to this song can help me overcome issues in my life. I'm not kidding either, listen to it, you might see that the song is perfect for diggin yourself out of a whole in life.
Days Are Numbered:
"Like a Spirit" by NATAS
Mastamind is a genius, one of my all time favorite artists. In this song he talks about becoming a spirit and trying to repent his sins before his time comes. He talks about how some people are forgotten after death and how he doesn't want that to happen to him.
Last Gasp:
"Layered Prayers" by Canibus
Canibus is a very intelligent rapper, always talking scientifically and about theology and the cosmos. This song talks about returning to earth after one's demise and floating up to the sky to meet the afterlife.
Death:
"Leave Out All The Rest" by Linkin Park
The song always makes me think about what I may be leaving behind when I finally die. This song would be perfect to play in a movie of my life during my death scene. I've been bad in this life and Linkin Park mentions this "When my time comes forget all the bad that I've done" because I want people to remember the good things about me after I'm done with this life.
Funeral:
"Shadow of the Day" by Linkin Park
This song would be perfect to play at a funeral for me. It's sad but in a relaxing manner. It would allow people to think of me even though I'm gone from this world.
Close Credits:
"Poet Laureate Infinity" by Canibus
This song just is so long, so good, no refrain/chorus, just Canibus tearing apart the mic. He's one of the most lyrical rappers EVER, not just in the underground, EVER! The dude is a genius. The song was produced by Jedi Mind Tricks so it's got a somewhat "space" sounding background, which only adds to the feeling of the song. A perfect song to end my life with as the audience views the credits.

I've been bad in this life and Linkin Park mentions this "When my time comes forget all the bad that I've done" because I want people to remember the good things about me after I'm done with this life.

It's just badass and I like it. That's why I want it in my intro.
Birth: This is The Place- Red Hot Chili Peppers
It seems to tell how a lot of life can be, and how my earliest may come. It also says that the world is that place, and I’m here. It just seemed to fit in a weird way.
Awakening: Beautiful Life- Ace of base
It tells me to seize the day and have a great time before I die. I have plenty of time for a lot of things, and so I should enjoy my time.
Time for School: All Alone- Gorillaz
I kind of was always shy on the first day, and usually my friends were in different classes so I would feel alone. I wouldn’t know anybody, and I would barely see my friends. It’d take me a few days to actually get my new friends and see my old ones.
Ridicule: Invincible- Static-X
In the song it says how he’s hurt and needs to learn. He says how now he’s not so invincible. That’s what I feel when I’m ridiculed. I kind of just want them to leave me alone, and to leave me to hurt. I could tell then I’m not exactly safe from anything.
First Crush: Over My Head (Cable Car)- The Fray
This song is how I usually feel with crushes. I would be, as the song goes, over my head most of the time. She was usually on my mind all the time. It just fits really well.
Pumped Up: Feel So Numb- Rob Zombie
This song from the intro to the end always gets me pumped. The vocals, the beat, the guitarring, everything. It gets me pumped, and keeps me pumped. It’s a badass song.
Paranoid: Shadow Zone- Static-X
This song just says paranoia to me. So, I thought it would fit. The lyrics especially help with the paranoia factor.
Heartbroken: New Pain- Static-X
It isn’t exactly new, but the lyrics seem to fit the mood. It releases my anger after a bad heartbreak
Recovery: Man Overboard- Blink-182
This song just tells me recovery. It seems like a song where I’ve moved on, and happy, and kind of sarcastic when I say it’s over, I’m sorry. It fits awesomely.
Road Trip: Never Gonna Stop- Rob Zombie
The verses seem so lazy, like a road trip. The chorus doesn’t fit too well, but the verses just make me feel like I’m on the highway just cruising.
Flashback: lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off- Panic! At The Disco
The verses seem to be soft yet on the edge with it’s lyrics like a flashback. The chorus also helps when you think of the really harsh part of a bad flashback. It fits.
Bar Scene: Suck My Kiss- Red Hot Chili Peppers
If you meant a bar with beer and stuff, and not a nightclub bar or something, then yeah. This song seems laid back and if you were drunk and making out with some random chick, you’d just be “Suck my Kiss!”....
Proposal: Paradise By the Dashboard Lights- Meatloaf
Yeah, I agree with m0s3ph on this one.
Marriage: What’s my age again- Blink-182
IN marriage, you can tell you’re getting old. You wish you could still do pranks sometimes, and this song is about doing pranks during relationships and acting young. It was ironic, but fit for me.
Honeymoon: Give me just one night (Una Noche)- 98 Degrees
I know sex happens on honeymoons, but this gives more for meaningful sex instead f just lust...
Parenthood: Minor Thing- Red Hot Chili Peppers
The good times of parenting, when things are carefree and happy.
Crisis: Stinkfist- Tool
It sounds... Cool. It seemed tense enough to be in this spot.
Days Are Numbered: Voices- Disturbed
In my final-ish days, I’m pretty sure I’ll go crazy. So, this fits well. For me.
Last Gasp: Everlong- Foo Fighters
It just fits. Listen to it, and it just seems to fit perfectly.
Death: Adam’s Song- Blink-182
Not many people die with their lover. It seemed sad enough about death, so it fit. The lyrics are about suicide, but oh well. People do die by suicide.
Funeral: El Mañana- The Gorillaz
At my funeral, it would seem this sad and happy.
Close Credits: The Trooper- Iron Maiden
One of my all-time favorites, I couldn’t help but put it in. Besides, Iron Maiden is my fave band, so I had to have one of their songs somewhere.

Ohhhh m0sss you sly dog. You know I love this thread.
;)
Opening Credits: Hide and Seek- Imogen Heap
It's to my understanding that the lyrics of this song are so hypnotizing, and you're never knowing what to expect when you hear it. The robotic trance voice that the lead singer has is mesmerizing, and it becomes the perfect introduction to my life- mysterious and unknowing.
Birth: Algiers Ferry- Harry Gregson-Williams (Soundtrack)
The melody is eerie and gloomy, almost as if you were shrouded by total malevolence. My life has always been that of a dark persona, or rather a total eclipse of misfortunes. The instrumental plays out exactly like that.
Awakening: Good Morning- Kanye West
Definitely the jam I would wake up to, getting ready for school. I slap on the clothes, jam the pancakes in my mouth, slip on my shoes and dart off to the car. The upbeat of the song carries throughout my life as I approach each day with new confidence.
Time for School: Good Life- Kanye West
Pretty much the replicate of Good Morning, Good Life represents the better times in life, where you get to associate with the crowd, meet new faces, bond and transforms within society. Nothing can stop you, and you feel untouchable.
Ridicule: Faint- Linkin Park
You fucked up- big time. When I listen to this song, I feel like thrashing someone, thrashing 'em good. It could be said that this song pumps you up due to its hard beat and overimplied yelling, but the lyrics of the song are what matter. >> No, hear me out now. You're going to listen to me like it or not, right now, hear me out now. <<
First Crush: I Do- Brian McKnight
And just when you think you're infallible, you fall. And it's not the easy kind of fall either- no, it's flat on your face kind of fall. You fall hard, and you know for a fact that the lady you're head-over-heels for is not going to catch you. It's like.. you never meant to do it, like Mr. McKnight says: "And I didn't see it coming, but from somewhere right out of the blue, girl I never meant to love you but I do". I think the first fall is the hardest, and then after that, everything becomes smooth crashing.
Pumped Up: Ante Up- M.O.P
Oh man, this song probably relates to all the sports games I've played in my life. Shit just gets so tense, that you don't want no pussy ass motherfuckers on your turf; it's either ride or die or get the fuck out. Haha, that's exactly what I go through when I play basketball or volleyball, it's either all or nothing. You better ante up.
Paranoid: Say Ok- Vannessa Hudgens
Now, I don't know whether I've interpreted this correct, m0s, but my paranoias comes from my little lady. Sometimes she's just ... unbelievable, at times, and at others I'm not sure if she's going to be there- to say alright, to say ok, or if she's going to run away. Maybe I'm too paranoid, but I've got to know...
Heart Broken: I Thought She Knew- N'Sync
For the better part of a year, I've been constantly back-tracking this song in my mind, asking myself why, why, why, why? Was it my fault? Was it me? Did I not care enough? Maybe it was me to blame.. maybe I didn't try hard enough, or perhaps, even worse, maybe I tried too hard, making it seem like I was weak.
Recovery: Doin' Just Fine- Boyz II Men
YESSSSSS. This is it right here. THIS, is the moment in my life where shit just flipped, and now I'm as free as a bird. God, the strangest thing is that EVERY lyric in this song has happened to me; it's almost as if the song was created just for me. From each singer's point of view, all their shit happened to me, but the fucked up thing was that it was all with one girl. Tear after tear, heartache after heartache, suicidal thought after another, I finally figured that I didn't need her. No, I didn't need a two-timing, back-stabbing, heart-wrenching, gut-breaking, love-crossing, trust-breaking, hussy-behind, manipulative BITCH in my life.
So I completely disconnected her from my life.
My e-mail, my cellphone, my myspace/facebook/hi5/etc., my MSN, my call logs- everything. And you want to know why?
I'm doin' just fine.
Flashback: Hate That I Love You- Rihanna ft. Ne-Yo
Once in a while, you have to look back in life and see all the stupid shit you did- this song is a reminiscent of bad times. I truly loved this girl, and it just kinda pissed me off about the fact that no matter what the hell she did to me, I always took it cause I truly and still do love her.
Bar Scene: Think About It- Snoop Dogg
Laid back beat, not necessarily my "bar" song for the lyrics. Snoop really just flows and goes back into the time when rap was pure n' concentrated, and my life just goes back into time as well before all this crazy shit. He gets real, and I get real while I drink my virgin martini.
Proposal: Say Somethin'- Mariah Carey ft. Snoop Dogg
Ah yes, the easy lay-back into the question: "Will you marry me?" And of course, the lady-friend becomes all flustered, and you know, the whole ordeal is cute for about 2-5 seconds, but she's gotta say somethin' eventually.
(yes is the prefered answer here haha)
Marriage: Everything- Michale Bublé
She's my everything, and I can't believe that I'm her man, and I get to kiss my baby just because I can. Mr. Bublé does it right with this song, I've actually called dibbs on this song to anyone one of you Bublé fans out there. Haha. Just kidding.
Honeymoon: Magic- Colbie Collait
Pretty straight-forward.. baby-making music. Hahahaha. But the lyrics are actually pretty sweet, it's not this whole "romp" thing. It's more .. let's make love, not let's make sexy-time, ya know?
Parenthood: My Dad's Gone Crazy- Eminem
Well it doesn't get much clearer than that.. I expect my kids to think I'm one crazy hell-of-a-dad. Pretty much doing stuff that makes them go "Am I adopted?" I wanna be that cool dad, that makes all their friends go "WHOA YOUR DAD IS LIKE SOOOO COOOL!"
Crisis: Help- Lloyd Banks ft. Keri Hilson
Vince McMahon says "Life sucks, and then you die." He's right, you know. And just as my life sucks, I realize who's been there for me- my baby. Yes sir, there's no one I'd rather be with than my sweet when shit hits the fan. She's there for me when I'm strong, and I pray she'll be strong enough to help me out when I'm weak and unable to provide. She's stronger than rum out of the bottle, enough to make a weak nigga go mono-e-mono. She makes me stronger, in my last days. Yup.. she's my lady.
Days Are Numbered: In The Air Tonight- Phil Colins
It's almost as if you can just sense it... and then it hits you. It's in the air, and all of a sudden, life just lays a haymaker of sorrow onto you and you can't do nothing about it. You have to roll with it, hope that everything goes well with your wife and your kids, and you pray that you can accept things and move on. You feel it calling in the air.
Last Gasp + Death: My Skin- Natalie Merchant
This song is eerie as ever... it always fits the mood of "death" and "sorrow". When you listen to the lyrics, you hear the pain and anguish coming from the singer's voice. The slow, piano background really gives you a feel of what true suffering is like- this is why I feel I had to combine Last Gasp + Death together, because this song fits both categories for myself.
Funeral: Coming Back To You- Macy Gray
Yes, this song is from the Déja Vu soundtrack, and the "Coming back to you part" is symbolizing the return of the soul to God after you die. The song is saddening, but it reminds us that going back is actually the best thing for people, for they don't need to suffer any longer. As long as you don't listen to the "baby" and "love you blah blah" bullshit it's actually quite fitting
Closing Credits: The Nature- Talib Kweli ft. Justin Timberlake
I've actually used this song to close up a little video production I made a while ago- this song is pretty laidback, easy to bob your head to, and makes you think all at the same time.
