south park has been really inconsistent lately, it can really be hit or miss
it doesnt suck though, its still entertaining and clever
go watch the jacking it in san diego clip and then tell me south park has been crap recently
I really think the creators should take a break or something and then come back with some fresh ideas
they still have it in them, especially with the great success of the book of morman, they will always be comic geniuses
Like all things south park just cant be like it used to, you run out of ideas and things to do

South Park ran out of ideas back in 2001. Ever since, they've been using media headlines and pop culture to fill the hollows holes that are their episodes.

are you kidding me?
South Park starting picking up exactly around 2001
2001 is when south park went in a whole new direction
south Park has always relied on media headlines and that shit since the first seasons
season 5 to 10 was where southpark was at its best
what would south park be without making fun of celebrities, real life news, and pop culture
the last couple of years south park has been lacking with only a few great episodes

South Park used to be a great and originally written show.
I remember the early seasons when the basis of their episodes lied in being completely unpredictable. Now, do to their media ripping, they've gotten so predictable I've been able to figure out the stories for an entire season just from watching the news.
A show is no fun if you know what it's going to be about before the writers do.

all I can say is that seasons 5-10 are a whole lot of fun
I hope this game goes on psvita. As for the show itself I still like it. I'm not saying the entire series is crap, but it just some of their episodes I find a little less entertaining. Like I said I tried to watch season 15 but I can't really get into it as much as their older episodes. Going back to the game being on psvita since I have one I think it's very possible. From how the gameplay and the graphics looks it seems it can possibly be able to good on vita.

Oh I think it will look great on vita, its not to intense graphics wise and the frame rate of the game is low on purpose to look like the show
it shouldn't be hard to port at all and wont suffer a lot
switching between ps3 and he vita would be awesome and if they bundled them together at a cheaper price that would be a really good deal
The game looks badass. I'll probably buy it.
But how in the Hell do you think Ziplining was the worst episode? It was probably the best out of the whole season. "How was it Cartman?" "Totally Fucking Gay Dude!" lmao
Or the actual adult human versions of the characters where Kenny has Herpes all over his mouth. It was all pretty funny because they were making fun of the discovery channel crap.

Great show + game you never played = Unknown result considering the game isn't out and no one knows if it is (or will be) good or not.
Anyone played this game yet?
Pros
I love the references to a lot of the episodes. They also have to have their Mormon stuff in it too. (If you die)
I just stopped at the part where I had to fight the underpants gnomes. Make sure you're not eating anything at that part if you're going to laugh your butt off.
I'm playing as a mage, I thought the Jew class would be cute but I decided to go with the mage, and I'm siding with Cartman.
Cons
I'm liking a lot of it, but I'm a bit worried about what it's been doing as of lately. When I had to install it on my PS3, I had to redo it because the game file got corrupted.
I'm playing it more and it's somewhat skipping a bit, only in a few random spots in the city. But it's also glitching out to where I can't read anything, the subtitles, some parts in the menu.
And sometimes, if you don't have a good strategy when coming into a fight against some tough enemies, you will get your butt handed to you. I mean, this game actually does make you have to think at certain times. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, but if you can't figure out within a few minutes, it does tend to get a bit repetitive, having to replay stuff. Of course you can skip cutscenes but, it's just they don't offer alternate stuff, they replay it over and over again if you keep losing.
So that's what I have to say, of course I'm going to make a review about it in my blog that you can see in my signature. So yeah, what are your thoughts for those who have played it?

I bought this day-one-digital on PSN and I'm loving it. It's like watching an episode of the show. The combat is lifted from Paper Mario the RPG with it's own twisted South Park flavor. It's pretty deep though which is rewarding since, like Icebaby said, you have to think about the encounters.
I'm not as far as you Icebaby because I keep exploring around the town, doing sidequests, and trying to spot the enormous amount of show references. I even read all of the in-game facebook messages. I've been a fan of the show since it's inception so I'll stop and listen to the background songs, the ambient dialogue, all that fan-service stuff.
I'm a Thief and usually have Kenny with me since he can help me stack Bleeds. Downside is naturally, I can't tell what the hell he's saying.
Here's a TIP Icebaby, don't know if you know this yet but:
If you hit enemies in the environment with your ranged weapons / magic (farts) and THEN whack them while they're stunned to start combat, they'll spend the first round with those status effects on them (Stunned / Poisoned). Also, you can typically interact with the environment in setpiece dungeon levels to just straight up kill enemies using ranged attacks / magic. Also don't worry about hording consumable potions and what not since they get dropped A LOT.

I've already beaten the game, didn't lose a single fight. Not to make anyone feel bad here but the game really is piss easy (I played a mage and sided with Kyle). The strategy for most battles is pretty simple: focus fire to reduce the numbers, use attacks that do damage AND debuff, and keep a large stock of healing items because you can use them and attack in the same turn.
As far as mages are concerned, there's almost no reason to use anything other than Dragon Breath. When upgraded it does great damage, melts armor, and of course there's the burn effect. You can also take the perk that improves your damage against burned enemies. Good buddies for mages are Stan, Kyle, and to a lesser degree Butters. Jimmy's sort of helpful if you need more damage, Kenny is borderline useless outside of bleeds and Cartman dies way too quickly. Another good tactic is to cycle through each of your abilities on the first turn to find out what the enemies are weak against. It really does trivialize a lot of the battles in the game, I don't think I was really ever in danger of losing even once. The combat becomes extremely forgiving once you get the timing down.
The only major complaint I have about the game is how short it is. I was able to finish the main storyline in under 9 hours. I didn't explore things as much as I should have, but then again there are always subsequent playthroughs for that.

I knew that already. My troubles was just with the alien level. For some weird reason, and I still don't get what I was doing wrong, was just that I was having problems fighting the captains at the very end of it. After you destroy the machine, I just kept getting swamped. Not sure if I didn't have something properly equipped or if I didn't modify something right.
But after that, everything is just easy.
And I like having Butters as my teammate, and I don't mind that he has the Victim curse either. Blocking is fairly easy to do and he doesn't get killed that often. Of course, he will get killed every now and then since he'll be targeted a lot more than my dude.
I also seem to notice that I wasn't the only one who had this issue, but when you're in the sewers trying to find the "nuggets," the last one glitches out on you. I had to end playing the game right before I could save him, but I defeated the hobos right before. (Why I didn't just save the poop right after is beyond me). But I loaded the game up and there was no hobos, he was sitting in the box and still singing songs. But when I approached him and pressed "X" he kept screaming for help. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or not, so I looked online and saw that someone else had the same problem and then the thought occurred to me. "Oh, why not I just reload the last checkpoint before reaching this spot and I can redo fighting the hobos?"
Problem solve.
Anyone else having glitch problems or any random issues that's been popping up? I really am not happy that the text in the game just started to bug out. I'll give it another go tomorrow and if it acts up, then there's seriously something wrong with the CD.
Because I definitely know it's not my Playstation, the damn thing got fixed it better not be the reason AGAIN.
Is it worth $60? I love South Park and have watched every episode since the first show(What were my parents thinking? I was like 10 years old!) in 97. But I just recently bought The Last of Us. Should I wait till the price drops?

If you love South Park then it's absolutely worth $60, but that has a lot to do with nostalgia, I think.
The achievements of the game are exceptional in terms of descriptions and names. If you love the game, the achievements are worth getting too.

I'm def thinking about getting this. Huge fan have season 1-16 on dvd, South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut the movie and even Imaginationland on dvd. Have few t-shirts of Cartman.
How are the classes. Def think I'm going to get this on steam when price drops down when it gets to around 29.99. Prob going to make a mage class.
How does it compare to previous South Park games like the ones from the N64 days. More fun less fun, how long is it to beat the game with doing everything even exploring and doing side quests.

Far better than the previous half-assed titles. Doing everything and beating the game will probably take 15-20 hours, if I had to estimate.

I'm thoroughly enjoying The Last of Us. Haven't touched a real game in a long time and I must say that this is one of the best I've played on PS3. Had to take a break from Madden. The gameplay is and can be a bit bland but its the dialogue and detail I'm really liking. It's a game worth $60. The Stick of Truth will have its day soon enough on my big screen.
