Wasn't keen on the other new stuff, so this was a pleasant surprise. Not bad!

Tom Jones - Elvis Presley Blues

Apparently everybody's got new stuff coming out. There's just a little nagging agitation about the lyrics. I wish it were a little smoother - but it's actually pretty good. Whatever you think about Tom Jones, the dude's still got a killer voice. That swell stirs my chest. Maybe I'm a sucker for the story of John Henry, but I liked that. It's good stuff.

Makes the world taste good.

Anna Meredith - R-Type

Heard this a few nights ago. Falls apart a little when sections isolate, and it's a little bit like a demo sampler, but when it gets rolling it's pretty interesting. Not sure if it's a keeper.

Dave Gahan & Soulsavers - All of This and Nothing

He's well past surprising anyone, but you can't go wrong with a bit of Dave Gahan.

Massive Attack, Tricky & 3D - Take It There

You could go wrong with new Massive Attack, but that might be the weight of expectation.

Woodkid - Land of All

Always need to check out new Woodkid!

Radiohead - Burn The Witch

Gonna take a few listens to really get to grips with it. Definitely not bad on first listen!
I think it's probably better to listen to without the video, but that's just me.

Radiohead - Daydreaming

Pretty familiar Radiohead sound. Melodic gloom building. Worth a listen if you're up for more.
Better video, too. Thom Yorke is looking like shite. Notably directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Portishead - SOS

There's a definite arresting quality that fits the political context of it, but it's hard to get past the cliche of Portishead. It's not their best work. Still worth checking out, though.

Love it! Only audio in the link. No complaints. Sounding great!

Good standard Carpenter track. Fun low budget sci-fi vid. Definitely worth a look!

Electric Fields - Shade Away

A little on the overly dramatic side for something so lightweight, but pretty catchy.
It'll get stuck in your head if you let it. Gets pleasantly Deep Forest at the end.

DJ Shadow feat. Matthew Halsall - Ashes to Oceans

Finally listened to the album from earlier in the year. This one struck a chord with me. Probably not for everyone. Second half is where it gets real. Kinda calls back to Three Ralphs (from the same album), which also has a real good second half.

Gorillaz feat. Benjamin Clementine - Hallelujah Money

Not the lightning bolt of past Gorillaz chart toppers, but interesting. Could definitely see myself warming to it more over time. Especially sans vid. Edit: Yep, really grew on me with repeat listens!

Self-serious big electropop. Retro faux-trash video. It's a bit of an earworm, but hatin is a valid response.
