I have been a fan of Devil May Cry series since the first game and now Capcom have asked Ninja Theory, the creators of Heavenly Sword and Enslaved, to make a reboot game which is called DmC: Devil May Cry, or just DmC for short (notice the small 'm').

It's been a year since the first trailer came out and it has been scarce with information about the game since, but now at Capcom Captivate a new story trailer which also appears to be the intro of the game has been released.

You can see it here:
WARNING! Mild nudity...

So far, I like it. Not just because of the nudity (though that's hot and all ;P ), but the story of the original series were full of plotholes that Capcom never bothered to fill in, so that sucks. Also, in Devil May Cry 4 the main character was Nero who I also think is rather sucky and whiny and just a sub-par character compared to Dante.

The new Dante in the reboot looks cool and as seen in the trailer above, he seems to have some of the cocky flair in his attitude that is very apparent in DMC3. There have been alot of rage about Dante's hair not being white, that his sword, the Rebellion, looks different, Dante's overall new appearance and many other rather shallow stuff, but also about the change from 60FPS to 30FPS due to Ninja Theory using the Unreal engine (the same as Mortal Kombat) and other gameplay-related stuff. Believe me when I say all the rage have been ALOT worse than anything MK related. The raging MK fans who have bitched about stuff like Cyber Subbie, Freddy, Story Mode, Kitana's hair etc, they are like mellow sheep compared to some of the raging Devil May Cry fans.

I'm a supporter of this new Devil May Cry reboot, but I would like to hear if there are other fans of the franchise on here and what your opinions are about all of this. And though this site seems to be near death with the lack of users online, I thought I would give it a shot. So here's a thread dedicated to the new DmC: Devil May Cry game! ^^

I'm not fussed on the new look but people took the absolute piss with there reactions, honestly it was worse than the Freddy thing times 100. I'm sure the gameplay will be fun! Its made by the guys who made Enslaved one of my favourite games this generations, really under rated, I fell in love with the characters in it.

I haven't played Devil may cry for years now (that may change with the HD collection though), but I remember enjoying them and I also loved Bayonetta, so I am indeed looking forward to DmC.

When I saw the initial trailer, I was also pretty annoyed as a DMC fan. Not so much at the new appearance, but how much they made his personality reflect it in the first trailer. He seemed like a downright emo kid with some parkour tricks.

This new trailer restores my faith. This game is supposed to be the earliest of early in Dante's tales. His smartass personality is back, and so are his off the wall dressing skills. He looks more like the old school Dante in his devil trigger, which leads me to believe that any sequels to this reboot will probably bring back our old friend with the white mop, with a more demonic devil trigger.

I like how the Devil Trigger is a call-back to the original series, but I would have preferred a demonic/angelic/hybrid form rather than just a change of colour scheme, but that's just my opinion.

JR it's surprising to see you liking this.

I've been in favor of the new look since day 1. Although it feels like they changed it a bit since then, and not for the better. Dante looks less scraggly, and his hair is shorter, not digging it.

The only reason I'm not hating his hair is because I'm just thinking of him being young. I do miss his old hair.

Looks pretty good so far I kinda like his more cocky attidude. Hopefully this game is as good as the first.

Btw if they're remaking this game I still have hope for onimusha!

Logically, I can see why it's just a simple color scheme change. Supposedly, this game is supposed to go WAY back, even before DMC1. We'll see more of Sparta and Dante's past in this game. If this young, black haired Dante is still growing up, then I could see his initial devil trigger going to the simple look of the Dante we know and love. Also, traditionally DMC devil triggers bring about a more intense demon form at low levels of player health. Meaning there still may yet be a chance to see some crazy demon version of Dante in this reboot.

At first, I hated this Dante. However, it looks like they slightly changed his hairstyle, fixed his attitude, and eradicated the emo vibe he had in the first trailer. I may end up liking this game, if they do it right. Come at me DMC fans.

Why is it surprising? XD

I'm very much looking forward to this game. Enslaved sold me on Ninja Theory as a developer(Heavenly Sword looked great, but suffered in areas). Can't wait to see their take on an awesome franchise.(EDIT) HOLY SHIT, just watched the trailer(that i apparently missed when reading the first post) this game looks to kick major ass. They may have just earned my money with this trailer alone haha.
