I think it's an ok series. But in my opinion, they made way too many games. I got tired of seeing the same shit over and over again. And, the fact that there are about 6 or 7 clones of Ryu doesn't help. But at one point, it was very innovative and fresh.

I wouldn't call Ken a Ryu clone, thats like calling Sub-Zero or Scorpion a Scorpion or Sub-Zero clones.
They are the originators.

SF is the next best fighting game besides MK IMO.I LOVE the SF series,SF2 was the first fighter I ever played.I can't wait for SFAE for Xbox coming out next month. It's about time they made SF4.

I used to be a big fan. Used to play the games at the arcade all the time. But i grew tired of them since everygame seemed the same to me. The characters always wore the same thing in every game.

Dude, ErmackDaddy. Get off the clone thing. Sean a Ryu and Ken clone? People wish. Cause if he was he'd actually be useful. The shotos have differenting moves just as much as the MK ninjas. Most share the fireball, uppercut formula, but they also contain their own moves...as well as a list of differenting command and basic moves. Which really can't be said in the same respect for most of the MK games. Considering EVERYONE had the same basic moves for the longest time. And even some characters shared special moves (ala Reptile and Sub-Zero in MK2, Smoke and Sektor in MK3, and so on). And a lot of those Ninjas also shared the same animation (Scorpions hand raise, sub-zero's freeze ball, etc), just like SF. Not to mention SF actaully adds move properties far more complex to MKs speed and damage... which effects those "clones" even more.

All fireballs, all kicks. It's pathetic. And Smoke and sektor, sure. That's 2. not 6 or 7. |
stop spamming

Oh sure. How about Human Smoke, Scorpion, MK2 noob and smoke. MK3 Noob and Kano. Blah blah blah.
No. They're not all the same. If you really "played" SF, you would know they don't play the same at all. Hence why they are so far apart in tiers and play styles. And if you are coming back to that they share move animations...look at MK Trilogy. And if you say all their moves act the same. Look at the differences in the hurricane kicks (ala Akuma's into other moves such as his uppercut). And if you say they all have fireballs, look at sean, Dan's Ryo style fireball, etc. And if you say they don't have their own moves, look at Sakura's Flower Kick and Sakura Otoshi...at Akuma's Hyakki Shu and follow ups and teleports...Sean's tackle, etc...not to mentioned supers.
So basically...No they are not the same. And above, last time I checked, this is a SF thread in the general forum.

ShingoEX Wrote: Depends on which version you refer to: The original version has "Vega" as the name of the final boss, and "Bison" as the name of the boxer. |
Well the versions i remember the best had Bison as the boss and the boxer as Balrog.
