The Passion is a great movie to watch. I didn't cry only because I knew that the movie had very brutal material. When I went to see it, everyone in the theater cried...one woman left the theater after seeing it for 15 minutes!!!

Yet I did wonder about Mel Gibson's intentions for making the movie...was it to show people the light on how christ died for people's sins or was it for profit? That's was my only problem with the movie, other than that it was a great film and I suggest everyone to see it.

Well....Gibson did edit out a lot of the riot scenes and content due to the whole "Anti-Semitic" controversy.

I think it'll have the whole movie uncut and unedited

I'm a Christian, and I did not like the movie at all.

*gasp*

I know, I'm going to hell. Anyway, 2 main problems I have with the movie is 1, I have a difficult time dealing with the imagery of it. Not that I don't believe the reality of it, its simply hard for me to view it

2nd, Any biblical movie I have ever watched I have never been satisfied with the acting for Christ's charactor. This one was no different. haha not that Christ's charactor is an easy thing to imitate, but I think thats my point.

I must disagree. Jim Caveezel (i don't know how to spell it) did a damn good job, imo. Plus given the fact he was told 'Look, after this, you may never work again..' and he still took the role, and again, imo, he nailed it...haha no pun intended..

Just finished watching it no more than 20 minutes ago. I gotta say, though I was weary of watching the movie dubbed "The Gospel accoriding to Mad Max" it was a very touching movie. I attended catholic school for ten years (grades pre-K to 8th) and already knowing the whole story I didn't excpect the movie to be this surprisingly good; great even. I really gotta give it up for James Caviezel, he played the role to the tee and for the fact that he will forever be recognized for this role.

As for the DVD, there are no extras; and I wasn't expecting any either. I don't think those involved with making the movie and the DVD had any plans to include any extras.

A lot of extras would take away from the complete film.

I've not seen it yet, but some co-workers (offline co-workers that is) say it's a really good film.

I went to rent it at a local shop this evening and all three copies of it were out on rental.

Will have to wait until tomorrow night to have a look see hopefully...

I'm a christan and saw the movie. It sucked sickly(as in, it was sick and bad). Maybe a movie of some bible stories would be good but no. Mel frikin Gibson wanted the center of Attention.

As a Christian I thought it was probably one of the best-constructed films ever.

It didn't strike me at all - yes, there was plenty of scenes where I shirked back, but I didn't leave crying, I wasn't shocked, or anything like that. I just thought: "Yeah, good movie".

I don't think Gibson wanted to be the centre of attention, but he did want to make an accurate and in-depth portrayal of the event. Which I think he did really well. Especially as a Christian who has done a fair whack of research into the life of Christ, I liked it.

i only thought i liked "The Ten Commandments" movie.. until i saw "The Passion".. the movie was amazing.. i dont see many people mentioning the translation in the movie though.. the whole movie you had to read.. but noone cared.. i know i sure didnt.. it really added to the 'realism' the movie displayed.

Jesus died for you and i wink

Funny side note, Mel actually didn't want subtitles. He was going to film in the original Latin and Aramaic, but he didn't want it subbed. He thought that the movie would be understandable simply through emotion. Thank God (no pun intended) the studios made him change his mind.

BTW I never mind subtitles. I've sid it hear a hundred time, anytime I'm watching anything in which it's original dialogue wasn't in English, I'm going to watch the subtitled version. It always feels and sounds better that way.

If they put english voiceovers it would be like an episode of Monkey Magic, however I believe it was an accurate representation of the event and the original script (the Bible) was adhered to.

for all tha people on this thread saying this movie sucked and what not, just remember one thing...
if it wasnt for jesus being here thousands of years back in a physical form (human), the world would've been in more chaos than it is right now. if it wasnt for him dying on the cross bringing the sins of mankind with him and forgiving everyone who sinned against him despite what he had gone through just to spread his message all over the country and the world, the world right now would be overrun by demons. yea, the world is a really chaotic place and has been for a long time, but for the catholics and christians y'all know that you'll be going somewhere greater than this life when u die, i.e. heaven. me, i got so much love and faith for christ, i aint even gonna deny that. i've done a lot of stupid shit in my life, i almost took my own life twice, i aint proud of a lot of things ive done, but despite all that, jesus has still managed to forgive me for all the wrong i've done and provide me, mi familia, and my friends with blessings. i havnt seen the movie yet but im gonna rent it soon when it comes to blockbuster. my god-sister, friends, and everyone else i know has seen this movie and they said it is truly powerful. for all those including me, i seriously suggest that you all see this movie. its not a hollywood blockbuster, its more like a message.
im christian, by the way
