No kidding! grin

In all seriousness, I am impressed. This topic would have been flamed to death by now on some other boards I frequent. I thought the movie was very good, and very moving. Hopefully, if the movie helped people in thier faith, then the film has served it's purpose.

for all tha people on this thread saying this movie sucked and what not, just remember one thing... if it wasnt for jesus being here thousands of years back in a physical form (human), the world would've been in more chaos than it is right now. if it wasnt for him dying on the cross bringing the sins of mankind with him and forgiving everyone who sinned against him despite what he had gone through just to spread his message all over the country and the world, the world right now would be overrun by demons. yea, the world is a really chaotic place and has been for a long time, but for the catholics and christians y'all know that you'll be going somewhere greater than this life when u die, i.e. heaven. me, i got so much love and faith for christ, i aint even gonna deny that. i've done a lot of stupid shit in my life, i almost took my own life twice, i aint proud of a lot of things ive done, but despite all that, jesus has still managed to forgive me for all the wrong i've done and provide me, mi familia, and my friends with blessings. i havnt seen the movie yet but im gonna rent it soon when it comes to blockbuster. my god-sister, friends, and everyone else i know has seen this movie and they said it is truly powerful. for all those including me, i seriously suggest that you all see this movie. its not a hollywood blockbuster, its more like a message.im christian, by the way

I picked up the DVD the night in came out, and I have watched it twice since. I also saw it in the theatre. This movie was truly moving, and powerful. Being raised a Baptist, I have always been told what Jesus went through for my sins, but I could never really picture what it was really like. Although I think that Jesus took more punishment in real life, I still think that the movie came as close as anyone could possibly get. I am ashamed to say that I have not lived the best life, I have done wrong, I am still doing wrong, and will do more wrong before I die, but I know where I stand as far as my faith goes, and I will always know what Christ went through to free me from my sins. This movie just makes it that much harder to forget. I highly suggest it to anyone.

heh i'll never watch it
and yeah I know this'll offend people but "i think" (i dont want to even use that term but i know i have to for forums) it's all bullshit... religion is for weakminded followers
EDIT: here's also my opinion (I know, again, very offensive to christians) but jesus was just a conartist/magician who was able to capitilize on his image as a god-sent which was a result of joseph and mary doin the nasty before they were married. (in those times she would have been considered a whore for that so she made up some bullshit lie)

key words here are "I have always been told "

Can you truly believe in something you have just been TOLD?

It's called "faith", don't get on the guys case because of something he believes in. And what he believes in is a good thing, rather than "life a bitch and then we die so fuck this shit and let's get high".

I wasn't quoting you, I was just comapring and contrasting good and bad. And how is believing to think about others before yourself stupid? Are you gonna show or tell this kid a better way to live a prosperous life, if not then lay off him because I doubt you're gonna show him a better way to live. All you're doing is attacking what he believes in with you're ignorant comments, it's not his fault you have speculations about religion. He's comfortable with what he is, so leave it at that.

Well, from a moral standpoint, this movie really got people to think. It was great in the regard that people began to appreciate what Jesus went through to save our sins.

That said, I watched the movie once, and I doubt I ever will again, because I cannot derive enjoyment out of the merciless beating and execution of any decent innocent man, much less the person I believe to be the Son of God.

Few things are as painful as watching people trash what you believe(ignoring all facts and logical evidence), and not being able to defend your ideas. Anybody who thinks religion and faith is "stupid" can drop me a PM and debate me personally. Seriously, I fucking dare you.
