Actually "Last Ninja 4" going to PS3 is just a rumor thus far. The game's still slated for release on xobx. However, it's being said that the game project might be moved over to ps2.

In a world of $300 introductory prices and lows of $150 for consoles, no one in their right mind is going to shell out $500 or $600, and Sony will suffer for it.

that can't be the official price... Sony has to have more market savvy than that, right??

if it is, i'll just wait until it comes down to around $200... i remember buying my PS2 at the original $300 and then 4 months later it dropped to $200. But that wasn't as bad as me buying my Dreamcast at launch 200 f*cking bucks, than watching it plummet from $175 to $150, $100, and finally $50.

Blu-ray essentially is a laser writing format that uses much thinner lasers to record/read datas on optical discs. Because the lines are thinner, more data can be written onto a standard-sized optical disc.

However, it seems they could be much more prone to damage by scratching....

thanx i was wondering wtf it was lol thanx for clearing it up

imagine if capcom put a cfj title on ps3 imagine how many characters in 2d they could fit wow

or even imagine the smackdown game (yes it probably will come unless wwe goes out of buisness by the)

imagine the roster it would be bigger then legends of wrestling 3 roster & thats kind 2dish

Considering that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 can technically fit on a CD, current DVD technology would probably allow for several hundred characters to be in a fighting game...same with a wrestling title. The main problem weith that would be overall balance and thew amount of time it would take for developers to implement it.

CD Audio and Full-motion video seem to be what eat up the most room on optical media...

I think I heard something like the PS3 wouldn't be able to play PS2 games. Has anyone else heard that?

I hope it doesn't. The new machine would have to be fitted to accomodate some awkward peripherals (such as the HDD) to play certain PS2 games, so I really don't think it's worth the trouble.

Besides, many millions of people already own a PS2, and cutting out backwards compatibility from PS3 will lower the production cost...

Thanx for clearing that up ShingoEX and Subzeromasta

But if the cds can get scratched easily...cant they put some kinda thin protection layer over the cd, or would the layer mess up the reading of the Bluray?

I would love to see Tekken on the PS3. I thought the video scenes are very realistic, imagine the game having those graphics entirely!

I also think a Metal Gear Solid game would be insanely realistic. Imagine grabing a soldier by the neck and watching his face tense up and his body squirm. The shadowing would play a huge part in that game and I bet they could fit so much playing time on the PS3. I hope they make another Metal Gear Solid game exclusivley for the PS3!

the 1st time PS1 came out, i think it was about $250 and the PS2 was $300 so the PS3 should be $350 or $400. I think that's what it will most likely be once it is released
