Ah...tis a hard debate...Simpsons...Family Guy....Simpsons....Family Guy....

In all fairness, I don't try and have a winner in this debate. I love the Family Guy, show is just truly classic in so many ways. I hope with a new season, it can stay just as good as it was, and that's going to be hard.

However, without the Simpsons, shows like South Park, Family Guy, Beavis and Butthead, etc would have never came on. The Simpsons said, 'You can put a cartoon on Prime Time network TV'. And all the shows I just mentioned, and many more, have all paid homage to the Simpsons in at least one episode.

One thing I don't get, since the Family Guy was such a hit, where did the Critic miss? It had the same type of witty, dry, odd reference humor.

It's all about timing. The Critic missed it's mark only because it was never given a fair shot. Plus it was just a little before it's time (a year or so).

Actually, it was "The Flintstones" who said that tongue

As for "The Critic", it had the same problem that "The Family Guy" did: Bad ratings. The only difference was that "The Family Guy" was given much more opportunities than "The Critic" did, and that's a damn shame right there.
