Well, just figured this is the time to make a thread on Sopranos since it's ending FINALLY and officially this time.

Well, your thoughts.I'm taping it so I know nothing but I feel that Tony will either A.wind up in witness protection program, his wife will take over B.He'll die some how C.He'll disappear

Your thoughts, feel free to discuss.

It made total sense and I agree with how David Chase chose to wrap up everything.

Yet I didn't like it. And in all honesty, it was just cause it ended all silent with an abrupt blackout. I don't think I would've bitched if they kept Journey going through the end credits. The music would've made me feel good like, "Damn, that's the end of The Sopranos." There's just something about the show ending with that that would've made me feel ultimately pleased. But I was denied that, so I was left feeling fucked up.

Weird, I know. But that's how I feel.

Yeah, it happened yesterday ^^.

Yeah, I must say I agree it was a bad episode for a "series finale" left you with a sour taste in your mouth.

Alot of people on the HBO forums said that the final episode was "creative" and "was staying true to the fans" . . . . . i'm sorry but I see nothing creative or true to the sopranos by giving it such a dull ending. Some critics were suggesting that Tony actually died when the show black out (at the end) however I still feel like it was a lackluster ending at best. I felt like we weren't given no resolution to the ending and honestly I felt like the past episodes had lead us on to believe that we were going to see some intense action between the NY and NJ gangs. I would have liked to see an actual conclusion like seeing Tony go to jail or dieing (did I spell that right). Sure it would have been predictable but in my opinion it would have gave alot more closure to the story.

I loved it. It was dramatic, and I'll tell you why. Did you notice that whenever the doorchime rang Tony looked up and was cautious, EVERY time. The last time it rang, he looked up and it was Meadow. He did NOT die. It was simply a stint to show that Tony and the rest of the Sopranos will always be in fear for their lives. You gotta pay to play, you know. Artistic ending.

It ended in a diner restaraunt if I'm not mistaken. I wanted a shootout scene.

I never saw the Finale, but from what I heard about it, it seems that the Ending Monday Night RAW(a WWE wrestling Show) Had the next night was 100% better than the Sopranos ending.

For those who either dislike "professional" wrestling or did not see it, the CEO of WWE, Vince McMahon, presumably killed off his television Character( of the same name and position) by entering a limo which exploded as soon as the door was closed.

yeah, I agree... it's pretty open ended... there wouldnt be an ending that would satisfy all Sopranos fans... so this is the best say... kinda like choose what you want to believe

the whole ending was very nerve-wrecking... and my interpretation is that they all got whacked... just cause that's how the black and silence made me feel... the whole silent ending was very funerary...

- Did Tony die at the end of The Sopranos?: David Chase finally answers the question he wants fans to stop asking

The main topic of conversation about The Sopranos, seven years after the series finale, is still whether Tony Soprano, mob boss of North Jersey, is dead or not. And series creator David Chase couldn't care less about that.

Instead of giving Tony a final scene in which he is either killed or arrested — the two possible fates Tony and his fans had imagined for him — the last episode ends unexpectedly during a domestic scene with an ominous tinge. Tony (James Gandolfini), his wife (Edie Falco), and his son (Robert Iler) are waiting for his daughter, Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler), to join them for dinner at a popular restaurant, while a number of suspicious characters mill around. Outside, Meadow burns rubber trying to get into a parking space and then runs across a street against the light as cars whiz by her. Inside, Tony raises his head, and — CUT TO BLACK. Millions of television sets across America went dark and silent suddenly. Is my television broken? we wondered, each in our individual homes. At THIS moment? Then the credits rolled, and all hell really broke loose. Are you kidding me? This is the end?

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Just the fact and no interpretation. He shook his head "no." And he said simply, "No he isn't." That was all.

The answer is making the headlines, but the article is well worth a read.

- David Chase intrigued by ‘Sopranos’ prequel idea

The idea of a prequel to “The Sopranos” intrigues series creator David Chase, but if that were to happen, he envisions it as atypical.

The 69-year old showrunner says he wouldn’t mind exploring the era before the show began.

“Even if I did it, it wouldn’t be ‘The Sopranos’ that was on the air — obviously at least one person is gone that we would need,” he says. “There are a couple of eras that would be interesting for me to talk about, about Newark, N.J. One would be (the) late ‘60s, early ‘70s, about all the racial animosity, or the beginning, the really true beginning of the flood of drugs.”

For now, he is promoting the release of the entire series on Blu-ray.

Chase sat down with The Associated Press to discuss the groundbreaking HBO series, the hype that followed and the finale’s still-debated ending.

Interesting idea. More in article.
