Anyone catch the tv adaptation of the comics tonight? I heard it was REALLY good. I seen some behind the scenes stuff about it and it looked really well done. No CG shit, just really good make up and FX

I saw it and it was AWESOME! Some of the blood looked cg, but that's about it. Definitely watching the rest of the series. (P.s., never read the comic, but my cousin who did shares my reaction.)

I liked it very much, there was some real drama and real tension, it was fantastic. I'm recording the entire series based on the first episode.

Yeah I haven't read the comic either, but I'm actually thinking about gettin' it sometime. CG blood is alright, it's when the people look rubbery I can't stand
I really wanted to watch this but the lame ass Motel 6 I'm staying at doesn't have AMC despite having HBO. I called front desk and threatened to burn this mother down if they didn't pick up AMC but I think the front desk guy was too stoned to give a shit. Anyone know if you can stream it online?

As a huge fan of the Walking Dead my biggest fear was that they were going to fuck the series up, but after watching the first episode I was really impressed with it because they keep with the story while adding their own little extra things to it.
So all I can say is......I cant wait for the rest of the season.

I was lovin' it the first few minutes into it! REALLY well done I thought. I might pick up the books, not sure. I like watching it frist then reading it. Ever since Jurassic Park. People who rea teh book first seemed disappointed in the movie, I've noticed the same with some stuff I've view/read as well. I'll read them as they air I think.
The end of this first episode was pretty intense, they really capture a lot of emotion into it too, it's not cheesy in my oppinion. The boy's mother, bycicle girl, etc. Ugh! I wanna go on but I don't wanna spoil anything! LOVE this show

I haven't read the comics either but I agree often the "based on" original source tends to be the better. Not sure if that's the case here as it's looking pretty well done thus far. I've liked the characters that have been introduced and there's plenty of room for development. I also like how the post-apoc scenario isn't being forcefully exaplained as we get to experience it first hand along with the protagonist's knowledge. That's where a lot of these "big world altering event" tv shows can derail... the pace and exposition of the "how/why".
Anyhow, looking forward to the next episode.

Kinda like Stephen King's The Stand? The first two of four vids were awesome because everyone was still gathering and trying to figure out what went wrong, but then by the end it was just a battle of God versus Satan. The book of that was awesome as well, I was glad I waited to read that until after the movie as well otherwiseI'm sure I probably wouldnt' have liked the movie

it was on last night. it was pretty good. it still leaves question to be answered though. like where is the guy who cut off his hand. is he dead or is he still alive. did the black guy in the beginning of the season 1 survive if he did will he appear in this season with his son.
the makeup effects look really good and since amc has a bigger budget they could add alot more to this show. can't wait for the next episode. it's on amc at 9:00 on sundays.
feel free to give your thoughts on this season and the previous season. feel free to guess what's going to happen with the plot, characters and etc.
just lets have fun and talk about the walking dead. zombies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i honestly really enjoy the graphic novels but i cant stand the series.
i watch it still cause i LOVE zombies.
But i dont care for the characters in the tv series (unlike the comic which is A MILLION TIMES BETTER) they just annoy me.
like the whole shane/lori thing is just stupid in the tv series but works really well in the come.
its weird i prefer the comic but slightly enjoy the show too despite my many gripes lol

Anyone who didn't like Season 1, you should give season 2 a shot. The S2 premiere was better than the whole first season IMO. It seems that they pulled the writing together this season. Still can't stand the lead actor but it was a major improvement from last season. Awesome cliff hanger at the end too.

Honestly, I found a little boring. It doesn't compare to season's 1 primeire. The pacing of this episode was just kinda slow.
