I've never really liked shooters, and in fact I never play ANYTHING that revolves around online multiplayer unless I'm playing with people I already know, because I have no interest in interacting with strangers, particularly 13 year old latchkey kids who haven't been taught to watch their language by the same lazy, neglectful parents who blame games for violence any time there's a school shooting...but I digress.

I do play the Halo games' single player campaigns because I like the story and I've read some of the books. I'm weird like that.

I also play a lot of Left4Dead because it's one of a select few games I have in common with a friend who now lives far away, so playing it online gives us a reason to chat. But that's not really a competitive game. I mean, there is a versus mode where players can be the zombies, but there's no way to be a team of dudes with guns shooting another team of dudes with guns.
