Unreal Championship 2 Now Playable on Xbox 360!

The folks over at Microsoft have released another backwards compatibility update for the Xbox 360! While Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks were again passed over, another Midway-published title made the cut: Unreal Championship 2! Unreal Championship 2 is of note to Mortal Kombat fans as it represents the first teaming of Unreal and Mortal Kombat (prior to the announcement that MK8 will use Unreal Engine 3): everyone's favorite Thunder God, Raiden, is an unlockable character in the game!

As for the absence of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, we'll be keeping an eye out and seeing if we can get some new information. If we learn something new, we'll be sure to report it here!

Excellent news, UC2 is up there with my top favorite games of all time and I'm very excited to see it on the BC list.

Raiden plays so well in that game, he even has a "shocking" fatality (for anyone who didn't know).

Cool, this is the Unreal that has that sweet first person view as well as 3rd person.Interesting, down the line perhaps MK:DA will make the cut and even be online at some point.

if mkda was online then all the other 3d MK games would not exist

Ehh, I wouldn't say that completely but see what you're saying.MKA's online comm is dropping drastically, MKD has some of the faithful and MK:DA would be like UMK3 for the 360...everyone would be playing it online I believe.

I just bought a 2 pack of Unreal Championship 2 and Midway arcade treasures 3 for $18 Canadian at Wal-Mart the other night. I held off on getting UC2 until it was backward compatible on my 360.

And of note in the BC list also is...Street Fighter anniversary collection! I'll be grabbing that up for sure now instead of using M$ points for SF2 through XBL Arcade.
