Hm. Okay then. Any examples/reasoning for your judgement? It doesn't really bug me as I would be getting this game for free, but I was just curious what people that played it thought. It seems interesting enough to give it a go. It has fatals, combos, and is based on the same mechanics as MK, or so I have read.
I used to have it.It came out right before mk4 and was a blatent ripoff of mk,wich I thought was funny since wargods was also made by midway. As far as my opinion of the game goes,I would rank it the same as mk4.so if you liked mk4 then you will probably like wargods.(game play is very similar.)

Yes he was one of the better ones from that game, also I like the Blond chick in the tight black leather... Can't remember her name now, it's been a long time. I liked her moves. and combos.

About Me

Vallah is hot. Lol. Anyway, yea I remember this game. I almost bought it for my N64. This also brings back memories of Mace: The Dark Ages.

There are three rules for doing scientific research. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

LOL! Sad but true.
Many believe that War Gods was an experiment before making MK4.
I'm glad Midway didn't bring that game engine back for DA, in spite of its more charming aspects... :)

The console versions are terible. I think they tryed to do to much with the game and the technology at the time just couldn't handle it It was way to slow. I would like to see a remake with the new technology, but also put the game in Boon's hands since it was done by midway. They should just let Boon handle it as a side project from MK; to give everyone a break from MK after deception comes out. Like Namco does with Tekken and Soul Calibur. They take a break from one series and work on the next installment of the other series.

I had it for N64 when I was younger and I liked it.Im not sure would I like it now though. The Johnny Cage rip off had the best Fatality in that game. When he radioed somebody and a bomb dropped.

Not only was it a blatant ripoff of MK, but Kerri Hoskins (the MK3 sonya) was digitized to be used as textures for one of the fighters. I forget who. Probably one of the hot ones.

How can Midway rip-off it's own game??

War Gods has more in common with MK:DA than MK4. The gameplay is somewhat slow, each character only has one fatality (though the ones in War Gods were better than most of MK:DA's), and there are no stage fatalities (serious turn-off in my book, given that some of the stages would have made some great fatalities), but War Gods was even more flawed. Each character only had one major combo, pretty much unbalancing the game by whoever can hit the combo first (like MK3, but each character's combo was 10+ hits), but you could break out of them (be it easily). The game itself is really something to play when you've played everything else. It's just not as good as most other games in single-player sense. The repetativeness of it gets to you.

I still have it on PS, I played it in the arcade a few times too. I thought it was a pretty good game.

It was an 'ok' fighter. For God sake don't get it on the PS1...the load times while waiting for a fatality just killed this game. N64 version was much better.
