The idea that you are either consigned to an eternity of bliss in the court of an unchanging, vicious tyrant that lives on adulation or eternal damnation and torment without relent... both are equally horrible to me.

Worst scenario I can think of is being caught in a narrow pipe, arms pinned down to the side, unable to rotate your shoulders or move your elbows or even wiggle your body at all, pinned absolutely still, and dipped halfway in water. I mean just enough so that you don't get enough oxygen and begin to drown very slowly. And no matter how desperately you struggle, you are unable to even inch yourself up. Furthermore struggling puts you at risk of inhaling the water, making your situation even worse.

By not getting gud.

Well I would truly hate to die before my job is done as a father and husband. But on a more personal level...

No matter the way, my absolute worst fear is to die without a sense of finality.

I want last words and to know it's coming. Whether they are fulfilling or not, the sound of the silence after what I know will be my last words, I imagine, will give me great peace and an unparalleled sense of rest.

I hope I'm that lucky. But hey, I could get no-scoped by a brain aneurism and not even know I died...
