What past fighting video games do you enjoy or just laugh at?
What past fighting video games do you enjoy or just laugh at?
I'm not talking about the fighting games that currently exist during this time, like Soul Calibur, Street Fighter and MvC... I'm talking about fight game series that no longer exist.
For one, I was a huge fan of Primal Rage. Even though I don't really care for dinosaurs, this game was unique. The fatalities this game had was really humorous or eerie, and Vertigo is and still is by far the best one in the game... to me that is. Haha.
I wish I got into Eternal Champions, that game, from what I've read and Youtube clips I've watched, seems like a game that could really give MK a challenge. The game was bloody, the characters are unique, and its story... Something completely different.
How about Bloodstorm? The game that cost a Pesina brother his job at Midway? The game looked too stupid, but it did consist of a weird way of challenging secret characters by performing a certain task, such as jumping off a cliff and finding a secret passage in the caves... The characters were either too weird looking, had ginormous breasts that put Lara's to shame, or just really stupid looking.
Kasumi Ninja... Angus, the fire crotch shooting kilt wearing Scottish man will be forever known here. Watching this game, I don't think characters even had combos because I just see nothing but jump kicks and random punches thrown out. The characters were not that creative, the boss, Gyaku, was unique and it is was interesting to see that you have six rounds with this guy. (Three in his human form and three in is other form)
Way of the Warrior. Naughty Dog's firsts. This game also included White Zombie for its soundtrack. There's not a lot of good things to say about this game. It's really... um... odd to see some of these characters. You got some secret agent black guy name Fox... Dragon... Ninja... Crimson Glory... Ehh... Maybe if Naughty Dog didn't go bankrupt during production, they could have made this game somewhat interesting to play.
Tattoo Assassins... Ah... reading Youtube comments, everyone thinks that this is a ripoff game of Mortal Kombat due to its characters and fatalities. Problem is, this game came out before MK3, so how Billy Two Moons and their animalities were a blatant ripoff s beyond me. But this game does suck. I mean, it's hard enough that you have an ice skater for a fighter, but the fact that this game has over 2000 fatalities by performing random button combinations is just absurd... Though, this game does hold nudalities, so if you want a fight game that shows pure nakedness, by all means, play this game!
These are some of the games I can think of on the top of my head. If you can recall past video games series that no longer exists or just a random fighting game that came out and never had a series go along with it, feel free to mention it and tell us why it was good or made you laugh!

The onimusha games. They were my first action adventure games. Actually had good graphics and a cool fighting system. It's a shame they haven't remade them.

Well...I enjoy most fighting games but I guess I get a good laugh out of:
War Gods...what a shitfest!
Sluggish controls, no practice mode(?!?), stupid characters (Kabuki Jo, Pagan, Voodoo), stupid fatalities, the list goes on and on...Got it for $3.99....WAY overpriced!
I enjoyed Clay Fighter, though. Bloody Roar was interesting, too.

FUCK YEAH!
Anyway I dig the games Biofreaks and Mace the Dark Age. Both Midway games.
Also I don't know any of you could me out but there was this one fighting game I use play in the arcade. It looked like Street Fighter and I remember there was one character with a staff and level that was in a wine cellar, and I think you could break open barrels of wine as you fought. I've been trying to remember the name of that one for years

Ahhh yes Eternal Champions I remember that game we played that a lot. Setting someone on fire on a stake. That car that would do a drive by on you and the ticket clerk would shoot your head off with a shotgun. It had some pretty awesome Level Fatalities. I believe E.C. is available on The Wii’s Virtual console. Don’t remember much of the gameplay but the fatalities were pretty cool.

Ah Ma God those names and the announcer's voice "Danja!" and it wasn't even trying to be funny
ClayFighter because it was trying to be cheesy and funny and succeeded, I believe they're supposed to be remaking it for wii..? Not sure though.

Eternal Champions for the Sega CD was quite fun for it's time. Cinekills were neat to watch and the Last Boss with his multiple forms to beat and the groovy tunes made it great. They had planned a sequel for the Sega Saturn long ago, but it was canned. Shame. I'd like to see a Next Gen sequel still.

Bushido blade was the shit. The one hit kills were hilarious and frustrasting at the same time. I loved taking out there legs and letting them crawl around and up slice haha. Also Killer Instinct was great when I was young but im sure horrible now.

I also miss enternal champions. I love the story it had big time and was a game if it didn't get canceled i can see doing well.
Other games i miss. Killer instinct( which should be obvious with my picture)
Mace the darkages i am surprised no one here mentioned that one. It was a very fun fighting game. Granted it, midway was making another bloody fighting game, but this one was good too. The characters where badass like lord deimos. Check it out on youtube if you haven't played it.
I saw weaponlord, the game looked cool. I never got to play it, wish i did. Though i did hear the controls where the worst ever.
those where some i remembered.

Clayfighter was a favorite of mine, though the gameplay was total trash I enjoyed trying to put skill into it.
Killer Instinct was really good one that they should actually bring back.

Irine4: Weaponlord didn't have the worst controls ever. It was just the hardest game to ever master ever. The reason? There were 3 block buttons in addition to the regular controls. If you were good you could be a god at it. But it's a hell of a system to master. But after all these years of DOA, it might not be so bad anymore.
As for the game that seems like SF, that actually sounds like a Street Fighter game. Though it might have been Fighter's History series. They were both very similar.

Hmm...
GAMES I STILL ENJOY
1. War Gods
Despite the terrible story and overdone imagery, I still very much enjoy this game. War Gods features highly interesting characters with really cool styles and attacks. Among my favorites were Anubis, Pagan, and Voodoo.
NOTE: I will admit that out of all my years playing War Gods, I've never made it to the boss.
2. MACE: The Dark Age
I'll admit, the game is terrible, but there are a few things that keep me playing. The first is the music. I am deeply infatuated with the character select track, and the rock music within game is totally badass. The second is how funny the characters look when they fight. It's cool for me to play and see how weird they move, like the chick with the veil. The third is how you advance from character to character in the arcade. The loser's head fall onto a pike! That is so cool!
Yeah, those are all lame reason to play, but I don't care.
3. Killer Instinct
Need I say more?
GAMES I NO LONGER PLAY
1. Pocket Fighter
A weird game it was. I only played it as much as I did then because of Felicia, who still looked badass after being turned into a dwarf. All in all, to me this game is an extreme mockery to the MvsC series, and I'm glad it's gone.
2. Fighter Maker
While the ability to create your own moves was an amazing approach to reinventing fighting games, the execution of it made the game unplayable. The feature was in a frame-by-frame format that would take up hours of playing to create a five second move. By the time you finished making the move, you were ready to go to bed. On top of that, the characters alone were awful, and were cheap rip-offs of Tekken characters (i.e. Paul Phoenix and Eddy Gordo).
Well, that's all I can think of for now.

Ha, yeah, when I was deployed the only thing keeping me from going insane were emulators. I replayed a lot of old fighting games for not only the SNES and Genesis but also the NeoGeo.
My favorite? Brutal: Paws of Fury.
I have no idea why.

"War Gods," "Mace: The Dark Age" and "Dark Rift."
I enjoyed, and laughed at them at the same time. Sometimes, I wish I still had those games (except "War Gods") today.
Also, I still love "Rival Schools: United By fate" to the very day.
