What are your predictions on what will happen in Ukraine next? Conflicts?
Nobody expected what happened with Crimea, so anything can happen. I hope that Putin will be able to tame his appetite and stop with annexiations and what not, before it will become too late.
Many of the overtakers in particular were not appointed by Rada to their current positions, till President Yanukovich was smoked out to east.
Even if they were apointed after, it was done by legitimate part of the government.
Are you also drunk? Labeling and calling are two separate things. You can label someone insane in the media without directly calling them insane.
Juts admit, that you said it and that's it. There is no way you can hide behind semantics.
I was referring to Russia's huge investments to technology that will be fruitious at some point, because there are Finnish entrepreneurs and scientists in Russia and they tell about the life in there in our media.
Most likely its an empty PR. Russians now very well how to do it.
If there are such investments, their results are either absent or not very noticeable. At least, they do not influence economy in any significant way.
Either way, chill down, bro. I just thought that was worth addressing as well.
It's not like I am saying, that whatever Americans did, was better. It's just their crimes doesn't mean, that Rissian government can do the same.

Quite many did see it coming, maybe not your average Joe. In long terms, I actually highly doubt Putin will leave it there. Things may escalate – slowly.

Whether or not Rada is legitimate, it can still be a "rebel government" i.e. consisting of rebels. Why? Because it (fair or not) involves these rebels.

No chance. You don't expect my memory to be that bad, do you? You have to translate the verbs (to label, to call) and read their definitions, dude. If you still won't believe me, I will explain their difference more deliberately.

Why would Russia make that up? It's for Russia's best interest to invest in technology. It's in fact not just empty PR. Read here about this for instance.

Of course it doesn't. What it means is that USA is not in a place of blaming Russia of small military conflicts when USA has been rampaging all over Arabia, broken people's privacies drastically worldwide and whatnot. E.g., they nearly started a war against Syria and that was less than a year ago.
Ukraine surrendered. Crimea is now an oblast of Russia. Be it justified or not, this is a bit worrisome. If you look at the history, Nazi Germany was in a similar scenario in '38 when it got land of Czechoslovakia with a German minority, offered by a plate, as a means to avoid the WW2 from occuring. However, the Nazis only became hungrier and blood was soon spilled. Hopefully Russia won't replicate that: The WW3 would leave no winners.
I hope so.
Though, many people say that with rampant propaganda of nationalism and supremacy of "russian values" over everything else, Russia, currently, uncomfortably similar to the Germany of the 1930s. Society is divided to heterosexual people and gays, Russians and foreighners, zealous patriots and people opposing them (who patriots label as traitors). Though nowadays any criticism of the Putin and his actions (any actions) could automatically label you as a trator. So far in internet only...but we know how those thing can escalate.
Socity divided to many-many fractions, who government on purpose make fight each other, to not let them turn on the corrupted system.
Quite many did see it coming, maybe not your average Joe. In long terms, I actually highly doubt Putin will leave it there.
How so? Nobody could predict that inner conflict on the Ukraine will lead to the Crimea becoming de-facto part of Russia, even if nobody in the world accept it. This possibility has become obvious after Yanukovich escaped, but even then there was no 100% guarantee, that Putin will try to annex part of the foreighn country.
I too have my doubts, but I hope sanity will prevail over greed.
Who am I kidding...?
Whether or not Rada is legitimate, it can still be a "rebel government" i.e. consisting of rebels. Why? Because it (fair or not) involves these rebels.
By the same margin any government, that include members of opposition can be called illegitimate.
No chance. You don't expect my memory to be that bad, do you?
I expect you do not admit your own mistake.

Because, as any country with great ambitions, Russia cares about its image. More than that, no matter what anyone tells you, Russia is very asian country in its mentality and sometimes good image is much more important than the real deal.
Have you ever heard about "Potemkin's Village"? It's a story about fake villages that were built next to the road, along which the procession was to move with the Empress. Nothing have changed, since those times. Besdes, good image is helpful, when you need to attract investors and positive PR for the country.

I didn't talk about 100% guarantees; it's not a secret that Ukraine has been a pressure kettle for years now. Of course you didn't see it coming since it was challenging for you to accept e.g. USA's impact to Ukraine, so you're lacking crucial bits of information from your equation. Either way, some did see it coming. Maybe you will predict next time a bit better (with sources.)

I didn't call it illegitimate, I called it a rebel government. It probably takes an exceptional amount of rebels within the government to be called that, and not every government even has rebels. You want to be informative anyway.
No chance. You don't expect my memory to be that bad, do you? You have to translate the verbs (to label, to call) and read their definitions, dude. If you still won't believe me, I will explain their difference more deliberately.
I expect you do not admit your own mistake.
Ask yourself again: "Who am I kidding?". You didn't even bother to explain your "clever remark" but provided only an abrupt insult. Now, can anyone expect you to admit your mistakes? / am able to admit, when it's the case.
So Merkel labeled Putin insane without calling him that. |
You have the burden of proof here; it is as it is until disproven. But anyone who is reading this should comprehend that there is a difference between labeling and calling, so I don't know where you're aiming at, RedSumac.

I know what empty PR is. Russia has still invested in its technology a lot.

Yes, yes, nobody as smart as you are. I commend your modesty.
I haven't denied USA influence on Ukraine, it's just that was not the only reason for those events.
It's like I am dealing with hardcore Russian "patriot".
You have the burden of proof here;
So far I have a burden of dealing with another bout of semantics assault. And nothing else.
I know what empty PR is. Russia has still invested in its technology a lot.
And as I said before, so far it's not noticeable.

I did not state that / predicted the current events, my point is that there are people who did. You are misinterpreting my words, constantly, either on purpose or by accident. A Russian patriot you say? My ass. The difference here is that you are pro-USA while I'm trying not to take sides very much.

I apologize but I cannot take you seriously anymore. Talk about admitting.

I am not pro-USA much. I am against stupid decisions, which could backfire on everyone in the country. And on the rest of the wrold as well.
I apologize but I cannot take you seriously anymore. Talk about admitting.
Same here.

You are a bit, but I'm not blaming you for that. You want to view the events as objectively as possible; you cannot predict the correct outcome if you're slightly pro-USA because bias and truth don't match together well. Truth is after all, there are only goons and goons within the superpower politics.
I apologize but I cannot take you seriously anymore. Talk about admitting.
Same here.
What, you want me to 'admit' that labeling and calling are the same thing? They aren't. That is the hard fact. You haven't even refuted anything on it.
We have had an interesting discussion in this topic, nonetheless: Let us keep on following the events of Ukraine. Readers, feel free to comment.

Whatever. It's just your opinion.

And it's like talking with a brick wall.
