Why do you think Video Game magazines are still around?
I mean, with IGN, Gamespot, and many other online sources available, aren't those magazines obsolete? All the information contained in them can be readily found on the net... for free. You just don't get free posters or a bonus demo DVD every now and then... Tips can be found anywhere, previous are always up-to-the-minute online, screenshots are mandatory on game sites,... even interviews and such aren't hard to find. So... why do these magazines even exist? (and I'm not bashing GamePro or EGM or anything... I actually buy them occassionally...) Fatality.

Several reasons, Garlie:
-Not everybody has 'net access
-Having the info/pics at your disposal is better/more convenient than having to load up the computer, log onto a site, etc..
-I'm a subscriber to one of 'em. They would go out of business if I didn't pay 'em.

Yeah, but are they really THAT much more readily available than net access? Sure, uploading pics and interviews and page after page takes time, but you can see what YOU want, rather than paying a hefty load for a two page section on your favorite game in a 180 page mag. Fatality.

Because people use them, and they provide a service. If it became unprofitable, they wouldn't exist.

-Exclusives. Such as the new GTA:SA info in the new PSM. That info is nowhere on the net. Well maybe now. Or Gamepro already has their cover story for October and screens and art.*It's DragonballZ B3
-demos and freebies(NP got free FSA stickers this month)
-interviews(GI interviewed celebs in gaming and put it in thier magazines and not on the net.)
-pictures and prieviews right there on paper
-not everybody can log on the net
It's the little things.

I gess it's mostly the feel of a magazine, something you read where you want to, the texture of paper, exclusives, these kind of things.
And not everyone can, or wants to log on to the internet.

If that's the 989 (Sony) soccer game, then it's crap. Not crap compared to WE7, just crap.
