I personally don't like Lil' Wayne he's just to annoying. But as far as Kanye West yes he is a douche bag an asshole a scum bag but you know what he makes great music. I still think The College Dropout is his best. 2 Words IS HIP HOP. And speaking of Runaway it has such a beautiful vibe to it than West raps over it about how much of a complete asshole he's been. You got to respect him for acknowledging it . And All of the Lights is a pretty good song also.

Little Wayne is a different genre, but bear with me. I love electronica for many reasons, one of them being that the most of the sub-genres were kept underground for a while. Then the mainstream found David Guetta...Now America is full of Jersey Shore Fueled mega-posers, who are all about "OMG LET'S GO LISTEN TO TRUE ELECTRONICA LIKE KE$HA AND PRETEND TO BE DJs!!!!111!

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad electronica is becoming more famous. It's just a bit bittersweet, seeing as how it was delivered to the world in this new and uninspired electro-pop bullshit. Again, don't get me wrong. I'm not the naive type who thinks electronica has always been super secret and exclusive. I know it's roots have been around for years in pop music. I just hate how ridiculous this DJ hype is getting. I was at Wal-Mart the other day, getting a toy for my nephew, and I noticed they are selling children's t-shirts with included DJ style headphones. Talk about facepalm.

I hate to sound like a hypocrite, as I'm a producer/DJ. I just have the security in knowing the purpose behind the music, the raves, and the former counter-culture behind it.

Now let's go to Lil' Wayne. The man has some decent rhymes and a few good songs, but I have no fucking idea as to why he has become an idol in modern pop/hip-hop. He isn't a genius, he isn't revolutionary, and he's barely unique. He's just a small step ahead of other artists like him, because the mainstream tells us that he IS a genius. I hate to sound like some kind of hyper-hipster, but I'm tired of the lack of originality in the world. The school systems like to say everyone is unique (oxymoron in itself), but from what I can see it seems like a huge amount of the world's population is just a flock of sheep following the shepherd that is the media. The judgement that follows is just the pissed off sheep-dog.

I'm not saying it's wrong to like lil Wayne, Ke$ha, or electro pop. There are some really good jams out there on the top 40 list. I'm fucking ecstatic that Guetta is bringing his music to the mainstream. I'm merely trying to make the point that being a poser is stupid, and people need to understand the music they listen to before they rape the airwaves with it.

I don't like him. Period. I just hate rap in general. The only rap I like is some NWA, Bone thugs and Tupac. I'm a metal head, so I generally hate rappers amongst any musicians.

I agree some metal now-a days does suck. Sure, I don't like lamb of god that much... I like metal bands such as Pantera, Iron maiden, Judas priest, Slayer, Hellyeah, etc. I just feel rap is swear words, drugs, alcohol, and sex. I don't feel rap has any music talents in it whatsoever. Metal, blues rock, hard rock etc actually has musical talent.

idk about everyone else, but I don't like him (as much as I used to) because people hold him in a regard that he seriously just doesn't live up to. Best rapper alive? I rap better than him. He's mostly incoherent with punchlines that don't make much sense even though he REALLY goes for punchlines. His style over substance tactics as of late are really bothering me considering how good the first two Carter albums were. Shit, 500 Degrees was better than anything he's put out in the past 2 years. I must admit though, he had the rawest flow back in the beginning anyways, so consider that before you consider me a ranting hater. I know the history.

I can honestly say it doesn't take nearly as much skill or effort to play as people would have you believe. Yeah, I do know that there are rappers with actual talent. I can see that. I respect peoples taste in music, but it's just that I don't like it. Rick rubin also produces metal albums, he did albums for Slayer, Metallica etc.

And what about drums, keyboard, bass, vocals etc. I play drums and I love it. It does take skill and hard work to play.
