This is something I've always wondered! Why is Switzerland abbreviated CH and in my soccer game (Winning Eleven 7) it says CHE. Now I speak German and I know in German Switzerland is Der Schweiz and in French it's Suisse and in Italian Svizzera, those are all the main languages of Switzerland so where does CH come from?

There is no Swiss language, pay attention man! The Swiss speak German, and French, and Italian but mostly German and in german Switzerland translates to Der Schweiz, but why would they take the CH from that?

Dude you are being ignorant, there is actually a native swiss language that is the mix of various others, there are many languages you can't imagine they speak in european countries other than the official. There is a Swiss language

CH stands for its Latin abbreviation:

"Confoederatio Helvetica."

Schwitzerdütsch has it's own words and pronunciation. Pay attention.

Well, "pound " is abbreviated "LB", and gold is abbreviated (on the periodic table) "AU". Go figure...

LB = Libra

Not sure about gold, though. It's another Latin word. That's all I know.

It's funny that you try to rip on people for wanting to know some other abbreviations when you're the one who started this thread.
