While that was funny as hell and pretty accurate, I still love Soul Calibur IV.

I wasn't 100% happy with soul calibur 4 because online play is crap. You only get idiots who use same combo while your on the ground and you can't get out. Tower of Lost Souls feel like step down.
Soul Calibur 4 is a good game but it could have been better
P.S. the video was good

For some reason, it reminds me of Exactly what Chrome would say...
hahaha, I can't argue with it really. Games have lost originality and feel.

Yeah a few of my buddies say there's too many cry-babies online which ruined it. I'm just waiting for someone to break SC 4 down piece by piece. I hear an infinite for Ivy was already found. 0_o

His review for SC4 seems kind of like the first impression everyone would have. He's right about quite a few things, but it's obvious he didn't play the game much, seeing that he didn't unlock anyone......
Here, I'll review it, I'm gonna be as unbiased as humanly possible, because I do know how to properly bitch about this.....
Soul Calibur 4 Review:
Graphics: This seems like a good place to start since they seemed to have relied on a realistic looking graphics system. Although the characters look like they haven't slept in days, and a few of the women's breast are disgustingly large (although they each have a bit of masculinity in them), the images look really well done. Some faces are quite funky looking when you look closely, like Sophie or Setzy, but you can get past that because the outfits look great in this one..... that is until they break off. Sure, everyone's first and second outfit looks fine and adds to the reality when they get slightly ripped, but on all created costumes, destroying the top, bottom, or middle of the outfits will completely remove a selected piece of clothing, which is bloody stupid, because it takes the fun out of showing off your cool character costumes. Other than that, the graphics look fine, the look of the arena backgrounds look great, etc. etc. etc.
Gameplay:
jfhkfjgdjfgjbbcjdsbgdgcb ........ oh, sorry, I was just practicing my button mashing skills. Yes, it is known that this game is super-ultra button mashy and that is never fun to play against as we all know. This game has far too easy of an offense system and far too difficult of a defense system, the universal reversal in this game is the guard impact which has a super-tiny window and very difficult to get off, that is the source of button mashing, however, I have learned that once the defensive system is mastered, button mashers will no longer be a threat. It's a challenge to master the defensive system of the game, which that's where the difficulty in the learning curve lies. The winning curve at an early standpoint is relatively low due to this "button mashing" online.
the main thing of this (and many other fighting games) is the rock paper scissors system. This game has a couple of those: Blows defeat Grabs, Grabs defeat Reversals, and Reversals defeat blows. Simple as that. he other RPS is the Horozontals > Verticals > 8-way run > Horozontals. This only applies tot he strikes system. I don't have much complaints about this.
Balance:
This game has always had the issue of balance, there has always been a repetition of the characters listed at the top of the list.
Sophitia
Cassandra
Ivy
Xianghua
Cervantes
Mitsurugi
Yoshimitsu
It always looks something like that. Although this time I feel that Raphael is up there and X is down lower. Anyhoo, I personally feel that if Namco WANTED to have a balanced game, they would have done it by now, but I think they want Cassie and Sophie to be overpowered, I don't think they WANT people to play as Talim, Seong Mina, or Rock, and I can't stand that, what is it that fighting games have against balancing characters? Although it is possible for a bottom tier character to beat a top tier, it is VERY FUCKING HARD. You will lose to many people who use the sisters, and if you can't stand practicing for SEVERAL hours and losing to someone who doesn't put in much effort, this game isn't really for you.
Online:
Yeesh, could be so much better. Four people allowed to a room, if you join a room while a match is in session, you have to wait until the enxt match to view the next competitors. I especially love the delay online. Sometimes there is a nice clean game, with non-noticable frame lag, but sometimes there is just ultra mega delay where your moves come out like, a second after you pressed a button. This is what makes the game unbalanced in the defense department. Even with little lag, it's still difficult to pull off guard impacts and just frames attacks. That truly is a huge flaw. I don't know if the PS3 version is this bad, if someone can shed some light? Although the lag doesn't occur too often, when it does, it's horrible.
The community seems fairly friendly, lots of parties and talking, very little trash talking, but again, there is quite a bit of button mashing going on. Not to mention their UGLY ass character costumes. I honestly feel like I'm one of the only people on SCIV who knows how to match outfits and makes characters actually look good. But thats just my preference, it seems like nobody on xbox live has a sense of style, lol.
That's all I feel like writing. I wish I had the patience to type it all, hoenslty, I caqn talk about how many flaws this game has non stop if you hear my voice, but I can't type it all out lol.
Althoguh I said some negative things about this, the game is still FUN, and that's what a game is suppsoed to be. If you want an interesting story, read a book. If you want a game that is to be taken seriously, join the NBA. If ou wanna have a rip-snortin good time, no serious competition, like.... all MK games, play SCIV.

Yahtzee doesn't like anything, which I guess is the point.

Yahtzee likes plenty of games, watch his Prince of Persia retrospective and his reviews for Psychonauts, Bioshock, and The Orange Box. He just doesn't overlook problems and as a reviewer he shouldn't. In my opinion he's the only Video Game journalists with a brain and isn't blinded by over hype and fanboyism. His criticisms of Halo, Nintendo and modern First person shooters are all spot on.

He has an untainted hatred for fighters though, I still like wat he said in the brawl video...
"I argue that there must be something wrong with a game in which you can spend fifteen years learning every last bit of the game and still lose to someone randomly smashing buttons."
I like that quote, but hey, I don't think any gam is meant to be taken seriously, jsut sit down, play it, and have a good time.
Anyway, keep in mind the bias that's involved, it's like interviewing a KKK member on who's right for president this time around.
