I really hate being the one to say this but here goes. My opinion, along with the the rest of my anime watching friends all feel the same way about Witch Hunter Robin. It had all of the potential of being a good anime and then it flushes that potential down the drain. The first half is ok, even with the "monster of the week" feeling it gives off. But the last few episodes, well, suck the big one. It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth making me regret the time I spent watching it all. Do yourself a favor, rent the rest of it if they carry anime at your local Blockbuster. If you like it, then continue buying it.

On a side note, I gave up buying the American version DVDs of animes. They run from $20-$30 buck a pop, and each DVD usually only provides 3-4 episodes. Look at FLCL: six episodes in total, each DVD costs $30 and they only put 2 episodes on a DVD. That $90 just for the 3 DVDs, $100 if you buy it with the box. If your only way of watching DVDs is a PS2 or X-box I can't really help you. But if you have a DVD player, or watch DVDs on your PC there is a cheaper, and better alternative. There are sites that sell whole series on only 3 discs in a much better box. I'll even provide a site so you can check it out for yourself.

EZ Animez

I get my anime from there an they are very reliable. So far I've gotten Cowboy Bebop(3 discs), GTO(5 discs), Noir(3 discs), Rah Xephon(3 discs), and FLCL(1 disc). I also have Berserk (3 discs), Escaflowne(3 discs), and Trigun (3discs) but I got those from Ebay and Half.com. Before knowing of these types of DVDs I was buying the store versions, and spent over $100 on Hellsing, and then the following week found it for $20 on two discs. You just got to look around and see what you like.

hey kool. I have seen alot of the Cowboy Bebop and Trigun series and i dont really like them, i have seen trailers for GTO and Noir where they any good?. I have the whole Hellsing 4 volume set and that is excellent and berserk is advertised inside of the case and that looked pretty kool form the pics i have seen.

Back to Witch Hunter Robin now, i don't think the whole series has been released on dvd here in New Zealand yet i am yet to find a store that sells or hires any of the volumes, i purchased volume 1 off a New Zealand trading/purchaseing site where people can sell and buy things, its called trademe.co.nz.

Thanks for the feed back the more response to this thread from various people the beta it will be gringlasses

-Berserk was, in one word: amazing. It was one of the most violent anime I think I've ever seen. There is one set back for Berserk, and that's the animation. I didn't mind it, but it does look a bit dated, and there are times when a still image is used instead of a two image animation. Berserk also had possibly one of the most emotional ending I've ever seen (and by emotional I DON'T mean I was sad).

-GTO is funniest anime I've ever seen. It's also longer than the average anime (42 episodes). I'm not sure if you've ever seen Goldenboy, but it's that kind of humor.

-Noir isn't for everyone. I liked it, but it's 100% serious. There are no comidic reliefs at all. Also, from episodes 2-7 the series drags, but if you can get past that it's cool. Also, Noir is one of those "art over gore" types; meaning if you want blood spewing from every gunshot and stab wound you are going to be upset. Infact I think there were a total of 3 times that I rember seeing blood (more if you count repeating flashbacks, LOTS of repeating flashbacks).

I'm actually surprised hearing someone who DOESN'T like Bebop or Trigun, that's a very rare thing to hear. Out of curiosity, do you prefer sutitles or dubs? I rather watch anime in the original Japanese while reading subtitles. I rarly like the english voices (except for Goldenboy) because they sound a bit too corny for my taste. I'm glad that you like Hellsing (my personal favorite). It sucks to hear that your local NZ stores don't carry a wider variety, or as wide as one we have here in the states. One more thing I'd like to mention about the site I gave out, all of their DVD's are region 0 (meaning they play on all DVD players, but PS2 and X-box they skip a bit). The only thing is I don't know if they ship to NZ.

I do know of a site that reviews a lot (and I do mean a lot) of animes, but I have to say they are a bit critical on quite a few series.

yeah trigun is alright i dont mind watching it, it does have its good points, but what puts me off sumtimes is the lame humour it sumtimes useing, if it was a completely series anime i might watch it more often.

So far out of all the animes i have seen Hellsing is probably the best, i saw the first volume a few years ago and it just blew me away, and then last year we went on holiday in australia and i was walking through a video game store and i was scanning the anime section and i saw all 4 volumes together and i was like wow i brought all 4 volumes for 135 australian dollars so thats not too bad.

Other animes i have aside from Witch Hunter Robin and Hellsing, are, Virus Buster Serge (all 3 dvds), The Animatrix and The Professional: Golgo 13. Have you seen any of those?

There's a reason that they are so cheap...they're called bootlegs.

If you want to support more anime being brought to the US, buy the legal stuff. If you could care less if the original creators got compensated well enough for their works, then buy the bootlegs.

I think it's a GREAT anime. You hve to really think about it though. If you liked Evangelion you are gonna like this. At the beggining it is kind of " monster of the week", but it gets very intricate and you get kind of sucked in.
At first I HATECD the ending, wmost people I discussed it with hated it too. But after a while (and wathing the series another 5 times) and thinking about it, I really liked it!!! It's kind of hard to pick up all the clues though
