50/50 Heroes and Villains

Not sure if anyone picked up on this before, but I was watching an interview from the EBGames Expo, and Ed states that their goal is 50/50 between heroes and villains on the final roster. With that in mind, let's look at what we got and try and predict who might be left.
Heroes:
1.Superman
2.Batman
3.Nightwing
4.Green Lantern
5.Flash
6.Wonder Woman
7.Green Arrow
8.Aquaman
9.Cyborg

Villains:
1.Joker

So with that in mind, if they truly are tryig to make it 50/50, we have some more villains to be revealed, and only a couple heroes. Leaving the status of the likes of Martian Manhunter, Captain Marvel, Zatanna, Black Canary, and Hawkman up in the air. While some villains we haven't really thought of, are yet to be shown. Sinestro? Darkseid? Black Adam? Captain Cold? Ares? Hmmm...
Keep in mind, he also said in the same interview, they pick characters based on these factors, in this order:
1. Recognizability
2. Story (the character needs to be able to play off other characters in story, so built in relationships over the years in comics is a big factor, if they don't have anyone to interact with then they will likely be omitted)
3. Obscure (they want to include some that people aren't expecting)

I'm thinking Hawkgirl is a given, she looked like she was about to fight in the newest trailer after swooping in for her mace.
Swamp Thing has a weird recognizably obscure thing going on. He was huge in the late 80's early 90's so he certainly has his following, but hasn't had much going lately(admittedly I haven't followed closely). Swamp Thing is my personal "hope against hope".
Captain Marvel. He is recognizable and...NRS is familiar with the character and play style after MK vs DC.
Captain Cold/Mr. Freeze. I'm going off the initial trailer on this one. Being that it was The Flash in particular being frozen, I'm thinking it's captain cold. Or it's a swerve, and it's just Mr.Freeze(rebels) fighting the flash(regime).
Sinestro- After seeing GL's alt in the story trailer, I'm thinking that could be a hint as to his inclusion...or not.
Scarecrow. This is a long shot

did he die in the comic?
but I can absolutely see Scarecrow being the "kano/shang tsung" of Injustice. Superman demanding he pay for his part in the events of the comic, only to have him offer his services to fight the rebellion. did he die in the comic?
Ares. I'm thinking the army Wonder Woman's army was about to collide with, looked to be greek. Here's hoping if Ares is in that he has a badass new 52 alt.
Lobo. Once again, huge in the 90's and overall badass.*
*I'm pretty sure this spot belongs to Doomsday...guess i have two "hope against hopes"

Good picks.
I'd like to see Scarecrow as DLC, because I think his specials and fighting style would be so unique to anything else offered. He'd also sell pretty well i'm sure. Though, it's unlikely given the comic.

To be honest i dont think its going to be EXACTLY 50/50 between them. It seems heroes have more of a role in the story than the villains and a lot of the heroes go bad so i personally think there will be 1, 2 or maybe even 3 more hero spots than villains

Well, yeah, I don't think any of us expect it to be 50/50, but that's the whole point of the thread. In the video interview, Ed said their goal is to have it be 50/50, so for discussion sake I figured if they actually stick to it, who would make the cut? :P

Every interview i've seen, they always say "around the same as MK, somewhere between 20-30, as we feel too many characters makes the game have more issues and each character is less polished and unique etc., and any less it starts to get repetitive". I think 24 is tossed around because of the select screen up until this point, but that's always up for change, so it's not set in stone. Personally, I think it's more likely to be 26 characters when it's all said and done, with an additional 6-8 DLC, because they said they would offer more DLC than MK did, so that's at least 5.
So yeah if I had to bet on it, i'd say 26 for the initial roster, and 6-8 more DLC, for a total of 32-34 characters.
I think we will get Martian Manhunter, Captain Marvel, Raven, Hawkgirl, either Zatanna/Black Canary/Huntress and Aquaman to round out the hero roster, with maybe 1 more suprise obscure character. I do recall (at the Tokyo Game Show, I believe, which was in Sept.), Adam Urbano was being interviewed and the interviewer asked something along the lines of: "So there are 24 characters in the game. Can you reveal one?", dodging the question, he replied some like "24 isn't a lock! We haven't locked down an exact number."
It would be quite the nice surprise for us to get the game on April 16th and come to find there's 2-6 more characters than expected. Even so, I can say 24 wouldn't bother me, but the more the merrier (until you get above 32)! lol

I think 26-28 would be perfect for the initial roster. MK had plenty of options and I never felt like it got repetitive. MKvsDC had 21 or so? That felt repetitive. 24 would be the least amount id want. 28 max. Just because id prefer them to be balanced, polished, and have a lot of depth. Can add more through DLC.

I'm thinking that NRS is going to make Manhunter the first DLC character because they know ALOT of people will pay just for him, although I don't agree with this, it's a good business plan for NRS.

Well let's not forget that Rain was DLC for MK and also let's not forget that alot of people were worrying about Kabal not being in the game or he was going to end up being DLC but then Kabal was the last character revealed on the roster.
I don't remember who said it but someone at NRS once stated that Rain and Kenshi were chosen to be DLC for the main fact that fans wanted them both in the game so they made them DLC because they knew that Rain and Kenshi would bring in alot of extra money for NRS.
I'm thinking that NRS and WB knows that worked for MK so their going to do that with MM and Lobo because those two would bring in alot of extra money for NRS and WB.

Captain Marvel and Doomsday confirmed. Two for two baby! Those were the more obvious choices though.

EDIT: after the end of the last comic, the mere fact that the Joker is in, gives me hope for Scarecrow.
