Seriously...get with the program people.... this isn't Batman vs. MK, this is DC vs. MK....sorry to be a dick about this...but I really think you guys are expecting waaaaaaaaaaay too many Batman characters.

DC operates based on a big 3: Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman. That big 3 is part of a big 7, which includes all of the founding members of the Justice League of america. Logic dictates that the five most popular characters from the JLA, and their top villains (or at least the ones most suited to MK) will be in the game.

So a likely scenario for the DC roster would be:

01. Superman
02. Batman
03. Wonderwoman
04. The Flash
05. Green Lantern
06. Superman Vilain
07. Batman villain
08. Wonderwoman villain
09. Flash villain
10. Green Lantern villain
11. DC Boss Character

Some villains that are possible are:

Superman villain: Lex Luthor (in armor), Braniac, Zod, Doomsday, Bizzarro, Lobo
Batman villain: Bane, Catwoman, Ras Al Ghul (Joker, Penguin, and Riddler aren't enough of fighting game type characters to be in this without being lame.)
Wonderwoman villain: Cheetah or Ares seem the most likely.
Flash villain: Not sure...don't follow Flash enoujgh
Green Lantern villain: Sinestro or Solomon Grundy
Final Boss: Almost definitely Darkseid

for those of you expecting all batman villains and maybe one superman villain, I'd be prepared to be dissapointed.

Personally with the idea of MK/ DC parallels I see the following villains as likely:

Doomsday= Goro
Ras Al Ghul = Shang Tsung
Darkseid = Shao Kahn

anyway, what villains do you want from DC? Please use thought and realize this is NOT a Batman game.

Actually, you are absolutely wrong about the Penguin and the Riddler being lame as fighters. The Penguin despite his stature and weight, has been known to fight the Batma very effectively. Check out "Snow, Ice, and the Penguin" if you can.

The Riddler uses his brain, yes, but he too has shown that he can fight as well...Its the Joker, and Two-face I have SOME doubts about, but they can fight..well, at least Two face can.

Joker and Two-Face have been shown to be more fighters than Riddler.

But anyway, I think they should try to spread the villain pool out...even though Batman villains are the most well known.

I can see Lex Luthor getting in, if they have him in his power suit. I could also see Brainiac getting in. Sinestro could be interesting. With him, I think the main concern would be avoiding making his gameplay too much like Green Lantern. Of Wonder Woman's villains, if any make it in, I'd rather it be Circe.

Off the top of my head, I think Flash's best known villains are Zoom...the anti-Flash...and Captain Cold. I don't really see them getting in. I wouldn't mind Sinestro, but doing Zoom and Bizarro would be going too far with the anti-characters.

Grodd is also a Flash Villain,

Solomon Grundy is an all around threat

Would love to see Sinestro,

And now I need to find my Bats vs. Riddler comics!

I'd love to see DeathStroke. He fits with MK pretty well.
I would LOVE to see Captain Marvel and Black Adam.
He's not a villain by any means, more of an Anti-Hero, but I really like The Spectre, "Spirit of Vengence". Doomsday and Darksied are a must imo. Sinestro WOULD be awesome, but as was already pointed out, it would be just like Green Lanter, just Yellow. Though they could both feel different if the dev team tries. The two characters use very different types of attacks with the same powers.
I'm pretty sure The Joker will be in. Which makes me happy. Regardless of how he was made to look in the old TV series and on modern cartoons, The Joker is a perfect fit for MK. He is incredibly violent and sadistic and murderous. I hope they use the "Slasher-Film" Joker instead of the often thought of "Sillly/Crazy" Joker.
Metallo is a possability.
I DON'T like Bizzaro. I hope he's NOT in the game (get it?).

My big issue even with guys like Lex Luthor is going to be redundancy of gameplay. With such a small cast you start to feel a bit reticent about 'Swiss army' characters who're going to play very similar to Superman.
Presumably everyone will get their share of special moves, so there's definitely room for some to focus more on strength based specials, charges, and things like that... But the Luthor powersuit is pretty similar to Superman, you've got Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Darkseid and other likely characters milling around that area...

Characters like Deathstroke and Ra's Al Ghul are certainly well known enough to make a lot of sense, while also having a strong fighting pedigree. Weapons are out, but if you could work in some swordplay for specials, that could make them interesting throwbacks to what MK fans prefer -- and would make a lot of sense to the conventions of the 2D games (ie; Jade, Scorpion...).

It's interesting that the Flash Rogues got skimmed over.
I'd say the big three stables of arch-villains are almost certainly Batman, Spider-man, and the Flash. They aren't necessarily the most imposing villains, but their history and longevity rates them very high. From the perspective of the game, they're mostly gimmick characters, and not terribly well known for their fighting skills.

In potential in-game special terms: Captain Cold (ice attacks); Mirror Master (holograms/teleport); Pied Piper (sound blast/mind control); Weather Wizard (lightning/wind blasts); Trickster (marbles slip/exploding gimmicks); Captain Boomerang (boomerangs...); The Top (super speed/spinning); Heat Wave (flame thrower)...

New additions like Murmur - a Tim Burton-esque serial killer who hates noise - would almost certainly be to the liking of MK fans on a superficial level, even though he isn't the most proficient of fighters.

I dare say most of the Rogues are too obscure to occupy one of the ten/eleven slots, though. Particularly as Captain Cold would easily be the most recognised of the bunch, with the now deceased Captain Boomerang not far behind... Heatwave kinda makes sense, but with Scorpion having an elemental bent, again, probably obselete.

I don't think MK V.S DCU will be that specific towards character villains... I wouldn't want it to be only like Batman, Superman, etc...I don't think Midway would look at one specific series (Batman etc.) It's MK VS DCU, not MK VS JLA...I'd like see characters throughout DC (Metamorpho, BoosterGold etc.)

I doubt that will happen...just like I doubt many of the obscure MK characters will make it...but who knows...Capcom pulled Shuma Gorath right outta their @$$ for the Marvel Super Heroes games and he was barely in anything!

Yeah, the whole aspect of a "DC Universe" is that it's very expansive. I think we'll be getting more of a "Poster MK characters vs. Popular DC characters". Is Superman a good choice for this game? No way, but he's popular, so throw him in there. Most of the DCU's actual FIGHTING characters are very obscure or unknown. Does anyone actually think Lady Shiva, Karate Kid, Richard Dragon, Manhunter, The Question, or Hush have a chance at making it into this game? Even though they all know how to FIGHT better than 50% of the JLA, including Superman?

If the cast were bigger, I actually think the contemporay Cheetah would be a pretty decent choice. Gameplay might not be staggering, but you could have some fun with a very agile, fast and feral character. I feel like an amoral cat lady wouldn't look too out of place in either camp, either.

To be honest I don't know that many villains from DC other than Batman's villains, Lex Luthor, and Doomsday. I don't think DC fleshes out their bad guys as much as Marvel does when it comes to mainstream media.

When this game comes out I think it's going to be mostly DC's heroes clashing against a mixed roster of Mortal Kombat characters.

Ed Boon said that mk vs dc would have the most iconic characters which would mean iconic villains. The most iconic villains are the Batman villains which, is why everyone is predicting them in the game or wants them to be in the game.

Honestly, what villains from dc are more iconic than joker and catwoman?

I dare say Catwoman gets a lot of competition from the likes of Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Brainiac, Despero, Gorilla Grodd, if only for the distinction of not being as well associated with villainy.

There's probably some more contemporary cues, too.
Deathstroke, Dr. Light, Superboy-Prime, Hush, Gog... If not Doomsday and Bane... *groan*

How about Cheshire? I think she'd lend herself rather nicely to a fighting game... A triple jointed gymnast/martial artist who deals in all kinds of poisons? She could have CRAZY moves.

However, being real here..... there's no WAY she's popular or recognized enough to make the "Iconic" cut.

Still, it's a nice thought. I think she could be interesting in a fighting game.
