I wonder if they're going to have a storyline reason as to why the Joker can actually fight and beat Superman in a 1 on 1 fight.
I hope not, I think it's better when you just kind of ignore the realism and let the game be senselessly fun, like Marvel vs. Capcom.

Agreed, but they said they would explain it. I thought the reasoning for the power shifts in MKDC was really weak. Hopefully it will be better this time

I wonder who's side Joker's gonna be on? If Harley is with Batman, then that either means Joker is too, or he's some sort of mystery wild card.

Either way, don't really like it. I don't think joker has any place in this game, and am in no way excited to see him, especially in such a prominent position.

IMO, Joker's like Magneto to the X-men; same with Lex Luthor's like Dr. Doom, without either it's practically naked. That's just how I see it, I LOVED his gameplay in MKvsDCU and pray he gets his punching glove move back along with some jumping teeth/acid flower.

I don't think they have to. Remember how they were referring to certain characters as gadget characters? Well there is no one better to take full advantage of that title than Joker. And when you think about it he's never been incapable of fighting he's just no martial artist and is usually relying on his "gags" to help him out.
So they don’t have to go the whole “Since when can Joker fight?” route again like they did in Mk vs DC

I really wish they would consider not putting the Joker in as a main character in a fighting game. Didn't really like him in MKvsDC, and I don't imagine him being much different in this game. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Don't worry. Joker definitely won't be pulling out huge boxing gloves. Most likely he'll be using his knife most of the time.

IMO, I enjoyed Joker's boxing glove move more than any other move in MKvsDCU, it was funny and very Joker-ish/unique; I just hope they don't overload the game with "gun/knife-wielders", I have a feeling that the gun/knife is his gimmick; same for GL's levitating using the ring in that pic of Arkham Asylum Stage (I think we've witnessed the 2 character's gimmicks and not anything from their basic moveset yet). With GL, I think his levitation is VERY similar to how Ermac's levitation mode in MK9 turned out. Back to Joker, in MKvsDCU he used that smoke bomb-type mode which was used in many ways but he's got so much more to his character like Joker teeth and his acid flower that were not used, which gives him a lot more to work with. Maybe he can juggle the 2 and do some really different/mixed combos that are awsome, at least give it a chance before judging lol.

How could you possibly expect a DC fighter without Joker (besides that old SNES game), no offense but worrying about roster space or not, he's EXPECTED! Give someone a million dollars and they'll still find reason to complain. I'm just amazed he's being considered overated yet his inclusion in the latest movies/games/comics r so loved and made more $ than God does in offering plates n church; makes absolutely NO SENSE IMO! We havn't even seen ANYTHING yet that he does but 2 pictures lol. I've never seen such ongoing hate for a character that hasn't even made his FULL debut yet; and we've known of his inclusion pretty much since the beginning. And you wonder why they included him with pretty much 2 other characters: GL and GA, I don't blame them being they knew this would happen. Let them make the game!

I think you mean "it's oversaturated and boring because people refuse to try out their other villains in media adaptations". Seriously, can we get more of villains like Metallo, Parasite, Danger, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, Danger, etc? I don't want to see the Joker do the same thing for the millionth time, or see Lex Luthor try to match wits with a man who could pound his skull in with a pinkie. There are other villains and these are new opportunities. I know people say "well those villains are the best known", but the other villains won't GET known if people don't try them out every once in a while.

True, I really hate that the initial count so far is aiming for 24, knowing that we won't get half of what we crave. I for one would love to see what they could do with characters like Mirror Master, Shade, Poison Ivy, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Firestorm, Plasticman, Gorilla Grodd, Raven, Red Tornado, Blue Beetle, etc. but I doubt we'll see hardly any of them.

Couldn't agree more. There's so many characters to choose from, and it looks like they're going for the bare minimum here. The famous characters are what will attract most people. Not the fighting gameplay or the stage interactions, but the fact that you can play with Batman, Superman and the others, will be the biggest selling point.

Heck, just look at MvC3. It's got twice that many characters in its roster, and in my opinion even that game needed more characters.

I know it's impossible to put every single character from the DC universe into the game, but come on... 24 is barely scratching the surface here.

That's not my point AT ALL. The fact is Joker could never even beat Nightwing in a fight, much less SUPERMAN. Realistically, a punch from Joker would cause his hand to break and Superman wouldn't feel a thing. That's obviously not going to happen in the game.

I completely disagree and I wish less people would think like you. Batman Begins and Dark Knight Rises were brilliant and featured zero Jokers.
Batman the Animated Series was genius from start to finish, even the episodes without Joker.

Lex Luthor is fairly lame, Superman has a ton of better foil enemies.

Some of the X-Men's greatest storylines featured 0 Magnetos. The Dark Phoenix Saga, Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men books... The list goes on.
