No offense to Injustice, but as we learned from MKvsDCU NRS seems to test the waters with one game and refine it in the next, so I'm curious if that is what they are doing here. Is this game a potboiler or is it the next stage in the MK9 advancement?

The controls of this game are deliberately designed to play differently from those of an MK. For example, the holding back to block like in Street Fighter.

So no, it's not a testing ground for MK10. Although I suppose I could see them keeping some of the interactive environment innovations.

I could see the next MK adopt similar stage hazards and multi-levelling stages, but otherwise, no, I doubt it.

I'd imagine Injustice is very much its own game but I wouldn't be surprised if some features spill over into the next MK.

Like it or not I think every game in MK is a testing ground in some way. Whatever feedback they get from this game will influence the next game.

MKvsDC proved that poeple don't want cross overs, and they want gore.

MK9 proved people want better online, and gameplay fixes.

Injsutice has already addressed the inclusion of hit trades, and a new netcode just to name a few things that MK9 inspired.

Well.Yeah the online should be WAY better,it feels slow and for me it's impossible to beat the spammers that learn they delay between"fight" and when you can actually input your first attack.there was just too much delayfor the most part, unlike the single player of the game. Also i can't wait for this game.Between this and PS All Stars,i'm looking to get a couple fighters.grin

Kind of. It's controlled differently though.

I will say this: MK10 needs to have stage transitions. For fuck's sake, there was no reason to exclude them in MK9. Knocking opponents through the ceiling or what have you would have been a huge nostalgia trip.

MK9 was MK10's prototype, they managed to balance the gameplay and make it tournament worthy so they should focus and expand on MK9 when they come around to MK10. As for Injustice I think they're planning to make this a stand-alone game and give it it's own flair, especially with the control scheme. (Instead of a block button you have to hold back for block, and the attacks are split into light, mid, and heavy attacks, plus a special button or something along those lines-which is a similar set-up to the Blazblue games). The similarities I do see is the graphics though, which I think they should change to look more like a comic book. But I still like the gritty look.
What I think they will take from this game is the stage transitions, but less-over-the-top and more classic-MK (fast and flashy).

No, They would establish Injustice as a separate fighting game franchise.
