Sure, why have uniquely designed characters when you can have boring ones that have had almost 15 years to be interesting and still have failed (Kano, Sonya, Cage, Reptile, and on). I even like some of the characters on a list like that, such as JC and Reptile. But what have they ever really done that's so great? Reptile was nothing more than a henchman, he didn't begin to show a shade of personality until Vogel took the reigns. In fact, nearly all the Earth heroes had the exact same storyline from the first game they appeared in onward through MK4. MK4 was essentially about replacing Kahn with Shinnok and Shang Tsung with Quan Chi. There was nothing more to it than that. Did Kang, Cage, Sonya, Jax, Reptile, Noob, Raiden or anyone have some new or striking storyline? Of course not. They had the exact same crap they had ever since they were created. Sonya and Jax track Black Dragon, Cage provides useless support with no storyline of his own, Raiden guides the heroes, Reptile is a worthless henchman, Noob is mysterious (ooooh!) and then Kang saves the day!

Seriously people, if you can't see how much better Vogel is at this than Tobias, you're just out of your minds. That's all there is to it. If you want to like characters that are "older" than others, that's fine. But don't make it out as if they are better or more developed, because they are not. Nostalgia is all there is to this, nothing more.

I'm sorry, but I'll take Sonya, Cage, Reptile, and Kano over Dairou, Darrius, Kobra, and Kira any day.

Gameplay>Costumes in a nutshell lol, I'm just saying the costumes don't have anything to do with gameplay per-se but I'm sure you guys heard there will be downloadable content hehe most likely will be alternates at some point. I support this idea, since they don't have to waste more time on it they can give it to us in due time. This way if a fan wants an alternate that badly, they just download it
