Scarecrow has no business in this game, he has even less combat potential than The Joker and pushing villains who are essentially alternate costumes of heroes (Adam, Sinestro) is really missing the point.

For example, pretty much all Watchmen characters are just redressed DC characters. Adorable and well written, but this is a fighting game not an audiobook. Wish for someone who might actually add value to the cast, a new weapon, a new power, something, not just different clothes and a clever catch phrase.

I disagree for the most part. Scarecrow could add a ton of gameplay pontential just because of fear toxin alone. And Boon said everyone would be on a level playing field which is the reason Harley Quinn can take on Wonder Woman so Scarecrows fighting abilities would increase greatly. The reason I dont think he needs to be on the list is because this is a DC game and not another Batman Arkham game a ton of people seem to want to make it out to be.

As for the watchmen characters you only have a point with nite owl who can be an awful lot like batman. Rorschach is waaaay more sinister in his fighting style and much more mcguyver like with his weapon abilities, Dr. Manhattan is on a level all on his own and could add a great deal of voice acting as well as crazy gameplay, and Ozymandius is a genius level acrobat who can catch a bullet. Any one of those three can add a great deal of potential wether they are in the DC universe or not. Anyone of those three top Grundy any day of the week because Grundy is just a zombie who will add little to nothing to the developing storyline.

Well DLC guest characters is a different subject I suppose. But when the game isn't even anywhere near release yet, that's just counting your chickens before they hatch. I think we should worry about the actual starting roster, the characters the game is actually about, until the final list is released, then we can worry about DLC.

Besides, Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy were nice bonuses to MK9, but no voice actors, no alt costumes, and no appearances in the story mode has a way of saying "these guys aren't important, pay no real attention to them."

Slight clarification: The DLC characters did all have voice actors; they just didn't do anything more than grunt.

I think you got the wrong idea. When DC bought Charlton comics Alan Moore wanted to use the characters, but DC didn't want there newly acquired properties to be killed off. So Alan Moore created characters that where based on Charlton characters.

Nite Owl = Blue Beetle
Doctor Manhattan = Captain Atom
Rorschach = The Question
Silk Spectre = Nightshade
Comedian = Peacemaker
Ozymandias = Thunderbolt

I would rather just have the watchmen as alt. costumes. There are to many good characters in the DC universe that don't get enough exposure outside of comics.

colt1107 I'm on board with ya, they've said that so long ago that I think it's slipped everyone's mind. Scarecrow would be an amazing character, possibly THE Sub-Zero of the game if made correctly and could really have some wild background interactions; yet he's also got many similarities of what they did with Freddy Krueger which he's definitely a favorite for the MK9 fans gameplay-wise. Also Scarecrow, just like Solomon Grundy is an overall DC villain, not just a Bat-villain; he's teamed with Mirror Master, Luthor, and even Atrocitus. Also, many other sites, Gamefaqs being one, he's a HIGHLY requested character, Sinestro is one of the top 4 actually on the X-box 360 forum.

Oh and to clear up all the Harley, Poison Ivy, and Scarecrow couldn't match the others in this game:

Yeah I remember that now. Some of those characters aren't bad but I hear a ton of people want Blue Beetle. I on the other hand do not. I hate Blue Beetle. I like the watchmen versions better but Thunderbolt, Peacemaker, and the Question are all pretty cool.

Just a heads up: in the coming months, there's probably going to be a lot of disregarding the one or two movies and/or cartoons you've seen.

Keep those characters we didn't list coming. That's the idea.

For the record, I was the one responsible for adding Amazo and Prometheus. While Amazo is fairly well-known due to spinoff material (with appearances in the DCAU, Batman: Under the Red Hood, and Young Justice), Prometheus is virtually unknown outside of the comics. Considering in almost every single one of his comic appearances (excepting when an impostor was wearing the armor), he came close to single-handedly beating the entire Justice League, I felt he would make a worthy if obscure addition.

colt1107 Wrote:
It will be an injustice not to add a watchman character.

As many have already stated, Watchmen is a completely separate continuity. DC has been very careful to keep anything Watchmen separate from the DC continuity, to the point where even when Elseworlds like Kingdom Come and Batman: Vampire became official alternate universes, Watchmen was not. I think the chances of seeing Watchmen in a Justice League game are effectively zero.

9. Prometheus - Even though still a pretty good pick, I'd change out for Circe for one more female that's rather unique and kinda expected being her popularity has definitely increased throughout the years, and possibly the most well-known Wonder Woman villain/villainess.

I'd give serious argument that Cheetah is a far more well-known Wonder Woman adversary, as Circe has only made one appearance to my knowledge in the DCAU, while Cheetah has made appearances in several media spinoffs.

That being said, I agree that there needs to be a female villain in the list, which is why my list had Talia al Ghul as opposed to her father. She possesses most of his fighting ability and his goals, while not being as fanatical as her father.

Bane, Bizarro, Metallo, Star Sapphire & Cheetah. IMO we need more female hero/villains in this game.

Jonah Hex is a character that could add some major diversity to the roster.
Lady Styx could be a very powerful female villain. Maybe even a boss character.

I keep forgetting about poor ol' Cheetah, she's a pretty good pick as well, yet I thought that Circe's island would make a perfect stage with animal interactions, plus I see Zatanna/Dr. Fate getting in over Circe. I think Cheetah is a given that she'll be in; just not so sure about her & Catwoman both, yet I kinda want both, I still love me some Catwoman and her whip. Lol, I'm sure though that if she does make it she'll play far better than that of the 1995 game. I remember renting and beating that crap ages ago lol along with Clayfighters, original Tekken, Killer Instinct, Primal Rage, and what I thought was the hardest fighting game to beat Mace: Dark Ages (LOVED THAT GAME). Also, thinking back to 1995; I'm pretty sure that's when Spider-man & X-Men Arcade's Revenge came out, I was thinking that it would be awsome if there was some kind of 2D Adventure mode similar to the old-style format it used, that game was actually one of the best comic adventure games to date, and was by far 1 heck of a challenge and 1 great classic getting chased by Juggernaut/a big spike boulder, lazer blasting the mines/Sentinels, defeating the Black Queen with only so many cards, underwater labrynths, lol and swing kickingn Rhino in the @$$ while dodging Carnage, that game was loaded.

Anyhow, I still think both lists are pretty good and possibly the closest to what we'll get. I think Prometheus/Amazo are pretty good picks even though I personally wouldn't have thought to chose them; didn't know too much about them til now, regardless this is helping us learn new things about people we never knew much about, unlike Marvel comics they've never hid their Universe from the world so well like DC has; I'm so proud they decided to choose NRS video game-wise to practically help re-invent them; now all they need is to release some movies and the world will definitely recognize them better, I mean there's so many people that have no clue what brand Green Lantern's from and DC is really to blame for that we should all by now know whom he is cause his movie or was it a bit late?

Actually, Amazo was on my list as well, along with Scarecrow, Cyborg Superman, and Bane for villains.

Im really hoping to see these in the villains roster:

Poison Ivy
Circe
One of the Star Sapphire's

All have so much potential IMO, in terms of moves and gameplay. Also, we need some decent female villains representing the DC cast here. Harley Quinn just doesn't interest me at all and I'm sure Catwoman is a cartainty (yay) tho she isnt really a Big Bad villain.

I hope it doesnt just end up a primarily Superman-and-Batman game.

Same here, I hope we do get all 3 of those.

Poison Ivy is just pure evil and would take on a good Sindel-type roll but with a sexy twist and could either be with the Injustice League (NRS's), work with her BFF Harley Quinn and Catwoman as the Sirens, or with Black Canary and the Birds of Prey, or she can work with Swamp Thing. I really want her to have her own Botanical Gardens stage. I have a feeling that Poison Ivy/Scarecrow's two possible characters that Hector Sanchez was hinting at which normally don't physically fight but now has absolute power and can.

Circe would be the straight-up evil witch-type like in Snow White and the Henchmen, and her Aeaea Island would make one heck of a stage with wild animals running around which you'd know were her enemies she's previously turned to animals.

I'd love to see a DLC Ring-Corps pack with both Atrocitus and Star Sapphire; saving the better 2 ring-bearers for last, yet starting with Hal Jordan/Sinestro.

I like a lot of everyone's ideas. I kinda think they should ease up on the batman villains. They already have harley so one more is enough. I kinda hope the joker and catwoman sit this one out. I would kinda rather have Poison Ivy more than Scarecrow. I think she would lend better to a fighting game. Cheetah, Star Sapphire, Killer Frost, Abra Kadabra, Queen Bee, Zoom, Brainiac and Circe are all vililans I think would be cool to see.
