I'd say its pretty safe to assume the final roster is a lock. Between moves, programming, balancing and testing. I bet its been finished for a while. Actually. Hector even said (during the giantbomb interview) that it was all there, just fleshing and polishing the game.

NRS is very responsive to fan requests. But it takes a quantity of fans, not just a few dedicated. And to be honest. There are a few characters I suspect will be considered, long before these two.

If Martian Manhunter doesn't make the main roster, I suspect him as numero uno, for DLC. We will likely see at least 1 batman character out of Batman's popularity alone. Clayface, Batgirl, Redhood or hopefully Scarecrow, will be somewhere on the consideration radar.

Beyond that. I would bet they are going to bring in one very obscure choice, and maybe a fan poll.

I am juggling the number "6" for DLC roster. They definitely want to beat MK with their being very happy with DLC's "beyond anything we could have predicted" reception.

I know that they decided the roster a long time ago. Just hoping that these two made it back then :) . Martian Manhunter has to be in the game, even as DLC. Hes just too popular. Zatanna may be the most requested female (may), so she might be DLC. Black Canary was extremely popular at the announce of the game so hopefully they took that into perspective. I just hope all three make it in the game as either initial roster characters, unlockable characters or DLC character

I think the chances of at least one of them being in is pretty high. I would say that there is probably AT LEAST two more female fighters in the main roster. Hawkgirl will most likely be one of them. I would be very surprised if Black Canary wasnt the other one. She has strong ties with the Justice League and more specifically Green Arrow and her power is unique and would fit perfectly in with the others.

I highly doubt either of them are on the main roster, but I'd probably like seeing them at some point.

I highly doubt Supergirl or Cheetah will appear. Supergirl is too similar to Superman and Cheetah is too similar to Catwoman. It has been stated that they pick characters that are unique and different from each other.

Hector Sanchez said in an interview that the game was done. They were just polishing story mode.

I can imagine Black Canary being in the game since she'd be the sindel of the game (Sonic screaming) so I can definately see that.

Well Ed did already have a poll, between Batgirl, Supergirl, and Power Girl I believe, and PG won. So I think she's already a lock for DLC.

i swear if they reveal batgirl or batwoman as a playable charachter i will be beyond pissed

Highly unlikely. They said they didnt want characters that were similar to each other so I doubt any of the Bat heroes will be in it.

Batgirl is amazing and if she's playable you will all deal while celebrate her perfection.
Also you can never have too many lesbians so Batwoman can come too.

I just really want Black Canary. She fits in so well in this game. Besides her relationship with GA she also has close ties with the JLA and has been the leader a couple of times.

They could put Barbra in as Oracle....her super move could be like Nightwings except she is in her wheelchair.......now i'm giggling inappropriately.

A fan asked Ed on Twitter for Black Canary and Black Lightning, and he replied, "The questions is Canary, Lightning, or Adam?"

I would say more than any other fanbases, the Lobo and Zatanna fans have really put in the work lobbying for their character (more than Black Canary, to my surprise). I'm sure we'll see one or both of those characters as DLC if they're not on the main roster.

Swamp Thing fans go on that list as well. Granted, they didn't become vocal until they saw the twitter tease, but after that, they were in full force.

I think she's more of a given.

Well there was 6 females in Mortal Kombat (Jade, Kitana, Sonya, Mileena, Sindel and Sheeva) along with Skarlet as DLC. So i think we can expect 6 or maybe even 7 females in the initial roster, since there was/ has been a lot of wanting females since announcement. this is what i think the female portion of the roster will look like:

Wonder Woman - Confirmed
Harley Quinn - Confirmed (and Awesome in game :) )
Catwoman - Confirmed

Seen:

Hawkgirl - Pretty Much Confirmed by the two latest trailers
Raven - May or may not be playable, looks like she is but i could be wrong

Possibilitys :

Black Canary - Was/Stilll is on twitter, very popular
Zatanna - Has been wanted a LOT since announcement
Power Girl - One of Boons favourites
Vixen - Dont know really, unexpected character
Circe - Why not have another villain?

Beyond Hawkgirl, Raven, Ivy, and Zatanna, there's really not many other females I would care to have, personally. I don't really care how many females are in the game, I just care about the characters I enjoy gameplay or story wise. Makes no difference to me, though I do tend to gravitate a little more towards the male side. Playing as females in games doesn't really connect as much obviously, being a male. So i'm not one to think there should be a certain % of females, anymore than I think there should be any sort of % of different races and cultures being represented. Just put in whoever works, is fun to use, and is good for the story. No need to try and be perfectly equal or make sure evrything is being represented enough. I guess it's just not something I focus on or take into consideration when it comes to who gets included.

But, as I said, i'd like to see Hawkgirl, Raven, Ivy, or Zatanna make it. There's other characters I would enjoy more, but if we're talking females specifically, those are my top picks not yet included.
