I personally always liked her and her storyline since mk2, not everybody who plays mk are die heart fans, so just causal players. So its natural if they characters popularity decreases once they leave. Secondly how is Kitana "arguably" the most popular female? Maybe it's just me but Kitana has really lost her spark lately

It's just that there is so much energy and passion within you, I love it when it's bursting out like that. I could really use some training, I've gotten a bit lazy lately, and I'm sure you could fix that, you know what I mean?

Wellllllll obviously Mileena is the best female character in the Mortal Kombat series. The developers know that, her fans know it and her haters are afraid to admit it! haha! Mileena is MK's debut female villain and aside from Sonya, she's the one female that they have used repeatedly in the game's marketing campaign since she was first introduced.
Mileena is #1 on my list ^_^
After Mileena, I have to give props to MK's blond bombshell, Sonya Blade. Sonya is the original female character and no other female can top someone so iconic.
I like Jade, in fact, she's probably my 3rd favorite female because I've always liked her green color and I've always liked how she adds some FLAVOR to the series because of her darker skin tone. She's always been one of the "safe" characters though. People don't really hate on her, but they don't praise her that much either. Jade is great imo.
now...Sindel and Kitana. Those have always been on the top of my list and I HOPE this game earns them a spot on the top of my list again. They've always been some of my series' favorites, but in the past couple years, I REALLY REALLY hate how they've been presented. They haven't impressed me much and I hope they wow me in MK 2011. I don't blame the characters, I BLAME THE DESIGNERS!
Learning to Love: Li Mei and Kira. I HATED Li Mei when she came out in MKDA because she was just a Mileena wannabe. I HATED how they added Li Mei instead of Mileena. However, they've made them pretty distinct from each other since MKD and I've really learned to love Li Mei. I was also very excited when they introduced Kira, but again, I wasn't happy with the way they presented her, even though I loved her primary costume in MKD. Hopefully, we get see a better version of Kira some day. I can also see good things coming from Sareena.
The whatevers: Ashrah, don't have anything good or bad to say about this homegirl. Same goes with Frost.
Sheeva: I've always considered her a man, so she doesn't count.
THE BAD:
TANYA: NO PERSONALITY whatsoever!!! I was soooo excited when I saw her design for MKD, but she is so blaaaaaah and boring in all of the games. Developers need to get it together and just get rid of her if they aren't gonna do anything good with her.
Khameleon: WTH? Really?
Nitara: Wow..a vampire. The 102851 I've seen.
Red Lady/Skarlett: Judging by that render, I can only expect bad things from this chick. I really wish the team would of gone a different direction with her, but its too early to judge so I'll just leave it at that.
