It's not that all "female characters" threads turn into a Sonya/Kitana debate. There is no debate. There's just rampant five-year-old-style "ya-huhs" and "nuh-uhs" back and forth, mixed with a few "my baby" and "THE _____", and maybe a couple instances of actual reasoning thrown in on a few rare posts (which is the reason they don't get locked right away).

I've gotten into these "debates" many times in my beginnings to learn that no matter how reasonable you are with your evidence and assumptions, fanboys will never yield even if they must conjure up the wildest of statements and congregate with their brethren for some fanboy-style "I AGREE"s! Not blaming one "side" or the other, I'm mainly letting those who wish to hear know that its pointless... but hey, if u have fun with it, go for it and hopefully it doesn't go from kiddish to nasty.

Having said that, I'm not getting into it. Just pick your character and freely worship in peace.

Sindel will always be my Fav but i was just dissapointed with her in every game since MKT but now looks like things are looking good with her wicked intro+outfit+hair move=finally.

Yes, I completely agree that that was the case in MKD, but for this new game, there is no substance that makes her special. It's all superficial. In MKD, she had her story, her attitude, her voice, her enigma. In this game, she's just all over herself and constantly going on and on about sex. She hardly even acts evil anymore. Yeah, she looks evil, but she acts like a cannibalistic blow-up doll.

To those of you who are questioning Sonya's status, let me remind you of a few things:

- The last game had a roster of the most iconic characters. Mileena was not one of them. Sonya was.

- MKA's select screen placed the characters in order from biggest to smallest. Scorpion was first, followed by Sub-Zero. For the female section, Sonya came first, followed by Kitana.

- What female will the upcoming Rebirth focus heavily on? Not Mileena. Do we even know who will play her? So how important is she?

- I can go even further and talk about the 2D games, movies, toon, etc., but I think you guys get the point.

Yes, it's obvious that Mileena is the star female for THIS game, just like in MKD, but that don't make her the face of the entire series. She simply has her ups and downs.

And what's sad is that she's only the star because they're trying to push the "sexuality" of the series. It ain't truly her that's the star, it's just her boobs. After all....

So the devs are giving other characters a chance to shine. It doesn't mean Sonya has lost the crown. Not permanently, anyways.

I dont think the reason Mileena is the "female face of this game" is because of her boobs.. Yeah, it works in her favor, but I think with this reboot to the more violent, graphic mortal kombat theyre trying to go back to, Mileena embodies that dark mortal kombat character more than conservative kitana or sonya. Mileena tells me more of what this game is about than kitana and sonya do. so to say she's in the spot light JUST because of her 10% more cleavage than kitana or sonya is unfair in my opinion

also yeah Mileena wasnt in mkvsdc but she should have been. but what you gonna do with MK's lame male to female ratio.
and the armageddon select screen? that must be speculation or opinion.
Sonya has a part in the new web series (and other movies) because shes a protagonist (?). movies always follow the heroes. not to mention she's one of the easiest to put in with the realistic thing. Mileena im sure will be in there somehow tho.

I actually agree with mkmileena on this one. I'm convinced that Mileena as "the girl" of MK2011 is because of her being violent and bloodthirsty, and this MK is all about "Hey, remember us? MK? Blood and gore? Holy shittery? YEAH!" Mileena shows that more than Sonya, and this game's selling point is more so shock value and over-the-top-ness than "classic icons", like the previous games have been. And for those of you REALLY curious about the Sonya/Kitana/Mileena-in-MK2011-thing:

Well that's true about her being bloodier than Sonya and Kitana. I still think her sluttiness has more to do with it though considering the spoiler I added. They wouldn't make it such a big deal if it wasn't in their eyes.

The select screen is not my opinion. Coincidence that Scorpion was followed by Sub and that the first 2 females were the "iconic" choices for MKDC?

Kitana is also a protagonist and had more to do with the stories of MK 1 - 3 so I don't think that's entirely true.

I think it's completely pointless to debate in a thread where someone simply asks you to name your favorite character. No one is talking about generally iconic/important characters, simply YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITE.

Just name the character and that's it. That was my first intention too, but things heated up and I got caught (I apologize). However, it's pretty obvious some people can't stand the fact that the character they dislike is one of the most favored and honestly, that's laughable...

How on earth people assume Mileena will stop being "popular" and turn into a punching bag is beyond me! All the people I know that have the demo told me they use her A LOT more than in previous games! Even if you search some youtube videos with ppl playing the demo, guys pick Mileena a lot more than Cage or even Sub Zero at times! It's just stupid to say she will sink after release....how the hell do you know that?
