Kung Lao is one of my mains and has been since Deadly Alliance, but MKX made Mileena bigger than she has ever been.

Hate Kung Lao.

Indifferent towards Mileena (yet *slightly* leaning towards "like").

So Mileena for me.

Mileena duh. She was very important to the story in MKX and has come a long way for her MK2 debut. There she was just a pallet swap and a lesser version of her sister and I still loved her. Now she has climbed all the way up to being empress of Outworld and I sure as hell still love her.

Kung Lao is the opposite to me. He started of as a sidekick and he still is one. Kinda like Jax. Although he has become less cool as the years passed. I still wonder why they decided to include him in MKX...

Because the fans wanted him back since they were pissed he was killed in MK 9

A fantasy battle for the Outworld Kahnum! Kotal Kahn was a mere boy when the realm of Osh-Tekk was invaded by the forces of Outworld. Witnessing his father defeated by a superior warrior, he developed an admiration for the conquering Emperor. Kotal Kahn was once a dominant force responsible for laying waste to realms and merging them with his kingdom. His desire to dominate the Earthrealm proved his undoing, creating a power vacuum in Outworld that led Kotal Kahn to pursue his own reign. Two legendary rulers - one ultimate battle! Round 2 kontinues with the throne of Outworld in the balance! Who reigns supreme?... FIGHT!

Kotal Kahn has earned his right to be Emperor of Outworld, but not fuck it up by conquering realms and being evil because he's evil like Shao Kahn.

Also makes for an awesome scene like this.

Kotal Kahn all the way. He's an amazing new character and much more relevant right now than Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn is iconic but needs to sit out for a few games. It's Kotal Kahn's time.

I vote for Kahn 1.0

Don't get me wrong, I like Kotal, but remember when you first saw Kahn in MK2, shitting your pants at how hard he was to defeat while screaming at the TV everytime he insulted you? After fighting Kintaro, your thumbs were already hurting from button mashing in hopes of defeating him, but then Shao Kahn came in and owned you with his shadow charge and hammer.

This guy knows what's up. How any Mortal Kombat fan could vote for Kotal over the original badass is beyond me. Shao Kahn all the way.

I was hoping for the same thing but MKX proved otherwise. They could drop the dead characters for a game to make room for Fujin, Reiko, Havik, etc, who seemed to play a big part in the comics but no. Liu, Kitana and Kung Lao are back and they didn't even bother to explain why. No story involvement whatsoever and they made it, so don't expect big things from MK11.

As I said before, they had no story involvement so it is mind boggling to me. They have had popular characters sit out in the past to make room for others, due to storyline, but they completely fucked this up in MKX. It is MK. Popular characters die all the time and they come back after a game or 2. At least in the past they had a reason to return. This time they didn't.

Kotal Kahn for me. We're in a new generation of fighters and Shao Kahn as lost some of its unbeatable aura by becoming first a pawn of the One Being in Armageddon then a pawn of Shinnok in MK9.

Shao Kahn can come back again, under his own power, but until then, Kotal Kahn is more than fine.

Shao Kahn is alright and all but Kotal is still my absolute favorite newcomer. His backstory coupled with the phenomenal VA that is Phil LaMarr make him irresistible to me. Seriously, he did so well, I honestly couldn't imagine Kotal sounding like anyone else. I hear his voice when I read Kotal's dialogue in the comics.

He gets my vote. Can't wait to see what he brings to future installments.

Shao Kahn all the way - iconic boss of the franchise.

Kotal is my favorite newcomer, but since the comic seems to have no bearing on the game and the game story did absolutely NOTHING to develop his character other than make him look like an oafish brute with a good voice actor, I have to go with my all-time favorite fighting game boss.

Shao Kahn *is* the primary villain of the entire series. One of the most iconic villains, one of the most badass villains. Kotal is great, but Kahn has been around since my childhood and for that reason he's getting my vote.

Shao Khan has won Armageddon and nearly pushed Earthrealm to the brink of destruction. He is Mortal Kombat and the epitome of it. He is honestly more of threat than Shinnok is in my opinion.

Kotal became completely cluess in this story and while yes he has a great background in the comics, but in the game nope.

Shao Khan is the reason why Mortal Komabt was made so realms would have a chance to fight.

And to whoever said Shao is a pawn of The One Being, nearly all evil characters are. Shit Onaga, Shao, Shinnok all want to re-awaken him. But what makes Shao special is that he was the only one close doing such a feat.

I agree, Kotal did turn out to be a complete puss. Which is a shame, because at first glance his design screams "ruthless, badass mofo"...the end product was quite the opposite.
