I want to have an animated avatar. I found the movie on YouTube, but I need help:
The movie is 20 minutes long, but I only want a part of it which last 5-6 seconds. This 5-6 secs would be my animated avatar.
I don't know how could I do this... can anyone help me ?

The link where you can see the movie:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=P5vIwseoHcw&search;=Beast%20Wars
First Image: Beginning of animation (when the camera zooms to the mountain, just before she appears (as a spider)
Second Image: End of animation (after she jumped and stretched her claws out...)
Thank you people.

Transmetal2 Black Arachnia!!!! Cool choice...
Well... as far as I know there's the hard way, and the hard way...
U gotta go frame by frame taking screenshots... then put them all toghether as an animated gif...
the more screenshots=more work= better quality animation

Oh HELL NO don't do that. You can get a free video editing program from download.com called Honestech Video editor. Set your marks where you want the video to be cut out. Then go to output. (These steps will be similar regardless of what video editor you use) Output the video as an avi file.
Next grab an avi to gif converter from download.com or somewhere else. (I recommend 123 avi to gif but you need a serial) Convert the avi using this program, in which you can edit the frames. Export your .gif file. It will take some trial and error in order to get the file size and dimensions to your liking. Good Luck.

Your best bet would be to download the source file directly. (not from youtube)
