The sprites are phenomenal. I never mentioned it in the contest, but they look like they could be pics of action figures you cut out. They look like real action friggers. I still don't care for the bg. It looks flat compared to the sprites.

This looks like it'd make an awesome mural or painting.

I actually prefer it just as it was in the contest. The background is one of my favourite things about this fake cos it reminds me so much of playing through the Orderrealm on MKD. Sprites are perfect though I would have preferred if they had stayed undarkened. 5/5

Anyway, as I said in the contest thread, I was a bit unhappy how the sprites didn't fit the MK look and feel and what not. But you are one hell of an artist. I couldn't dream of being able to create sprites and a background like that.

My official score is 4/5 because of all the work and effort, -1 because I'm a tad bit anal about fakes looking like the actual game. But I gave 5 dragon points to make up the 0 score that ThaReal probably gave you.

I never claimed it was stolen, learn to read. That's why I made the comment about "...wishing it wasn't allowed (to use borrowed material)..." I didn't know and didn't hold it against you. You show a lot of promise, but the attitude will hold you back in the long run.

Thanks for giving me a run for my money, Fed, you've got some real skill and should be very proud of your work. It takes a good artist to redesign a character and pull it off well.

And Rocket, get off your ass and make something next time :P You're an inspiration and I know how life gets in the way but it sucks to see you lurking in the shadows instead of leading the pack. I'm sure you would have solidified #1 in this with my sub-par entry.

Haha, yeah. I think I may be able what I was going to enter in the contest relatively soon. Well, I say that, but you never know how things will play out.. Though I will say that it had better before Tuesday with the new Halo 3 maps coming out =X.

Well I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it .

Though, for me, this is very much in the style of SF4 - cross between an oil painting and a sprited approach. I mean I could literally see that stage and the sprites fighting in SF4.

Which is why I could't vote for it in the contest, because, fedegita got straight on the nose what I was looking for in an MK fake.

Am I right in thinking there's quite a lot of influence here?
The tower in the background appears more like a space rocket, whilst the window in it looks straight out of princess peach's castle in the mushroom kingdom lol.

I think darkening the background improved the tone of the picture so I say good call. Kind of implies a grey and murky scene whilst still showing off a great deal of colour.

Where you're Goro/Moloch fake retained the MK look and feel, I don't see it so much in this one. Perhaps it's that the palette (I'm assuming) holds many more colours than the MK games did but either way I would love to see you or somebody take this and make it over in the mk arcade style.

How did you darken the stage for the Kenshi fatality on Paint?

heh, yeah, did that one part on PS... forgot about that but I did mention it in the submission... It would be easy enough though if you just drew it dark from the start :)
