I've been on sort of a forced hiatus. It's a long story, and I don't really feel like cramming my complicated vocabulary into the brains of these prodigies. I might hurt something.

...If you didn't read my post correctly I thought I mentioned that there was a degree of fun ness to the general fake. Also, I believe I said that if that you want other experts and me to take you and your fakes or artwork seriously you must first be serious and put some effort into it. I think Zedox said it right when I discussed this with him, "When it comes to fakes there is no tutorial on how to become good. You have to know shading and detailing because it's everything to the fake. But other than that, what makes a fake great is your passion to make that fake what you want to be." On another note, I will give new guys a chance, a few chances in fact, but I will not put up with constant bullshit fakes, I just don't have time for it. But whatever. That is your opinion, not mine.

PS. Anyone can be a 'fake-god' if they have the right mind set and is willing to take some input and learn something.

Hm. This fake is nice to look at, for the most part. Though it isn't perfect it is sort of unique as you don't see many fakes like this (using 3D models ripped from screenshots). However the flaws stand out in my eyes.. Ok, I never like the idea of using non-native MK images to make backgrounds, well unless you edit it to make it feel like MK. Heh. Also, I hate how people do that with the pillars.. ex: I think that is laziness and some architectural error.. meh. Why would you put a pillar behind a ledge type object? This is how I would do it:

Sorry if it doesn't look that great but I did it in less than a minute and I was just trying to get an idea across. Hmm.. whatever. The BG is alright to look at...just not the most perfected bg I have ever seen (in terms of staying true to MK and architecture).

The blood is also one of my gripes, it looks like a mist or a spray paint...I doubt blood would even do that in real life given the circumstances...

Overall though, I give the fake an above average score 6/10 because it is unique (sort of) and it is not a pain on the eyes.

My tips: (1) Sit down and practice. (2) Study some physics and anatomy (for the blood). (3) Keep making fakes, I see that you have some experience...don't waste it.

You're misapprehending yourself way out of proportion if you think many members propped themselves in pedestals, justycist.

First off, what is fake pic making? Attempting to prove you can do a whole lot better then what a game has to offer. A lot including myself have been on the MK Community ever since the ideology of fakes was introduced. While a lot botched the idea, some crafted it. That's what separates a real artist from someone who has yet to thrive creativity. Therefore, suggesting some should get over themselves deems you biased.

Wow. Alot of shit went down in this thread. Heh. I guess I can say something since everybody else has...hehe. Well from my understanding of fakes is that your are trying to recreate the game but adding things that the game doesn't have. That's where sprites come in. You edit an already created sprite (or make it from scratch using a base sprite...) and change the position into a different one that's not in the game itself. That was the first step (in my mind). After that, there comes in the background, creating a background that would be in Mortal Kombat or look like it would be. Me personally, I like seeing recreations of these MKDA and MKD backgrounds (A number of them I have created....and still have some unfinished ones) because I like to see if that would look how it would look if there were no 3D in mortal kombat. That's what I like to see in backgrounds and sprites for MKDA, and MKD fakes. Anyways, that's my shit on that shit.

And for the ones who want to comment on me for my previous saying (yea, I know its me, there's no need to hide) I don't give a fuck. Simple as that. I tried helpin out giving tips and shit (I randomly still do, as one guy in the forum made a better MKSM Reptile sprite, he's getting better with it.) but after years of givin tips, I'm tired of that shit. Ain't no good Samaritin (sp...lol) coming out of me, fuck that. Anyways, I hope what I said in the previous paragraph will give you people some ideas of what a fake (IN MY EYES) should recreate. And the tips that MKR gave in his post as well.

PS. Note that there are different styles of making fakes, just because it doesn't look like someone else's doesn't mean that it isn't good. There are people who "smudge" and then detail over certain areas (you know who you are.) and then there's me who just go straight pixel by pixel just like how the game gives it to me when I rip the sprite. That's my style, pixel by pixel (some blurs but its just rare and only for backgrounds which I do pixel by pixel). I hope that help you guys. And I'm not a fake GOD...just experience.
