Saw this over on DA. The art itself is good, but the design just seems like it has a little too much going on

thanks, but what is making it seem that way? so I know for future reference.

Too many tiny details like buckles and layers of clothing, as well as too many influences, ninja, samurai, mystic, and not all of it blends together well. It's still a 4/5 IMO, but when I look at original designs, I try to think of it in terms of "would this work in the game"

I see, but I didn't draw any buckles. Thats the design on his pants from deception that i moved to his shoulders. layers would work in a video game. Raiden has them all the time especially in mkda and the new mk. As for influences he is a ninja and recently they portrayed him as a mystic, so I just went with it. thanks for your feedback.

The scarf/collar thing makes the shape of his neck and shoulders look a little iffy, but it's not a big deal at all. Other than that, I like it. It's pretty much the same as his MKD and MK9 costumes.

The pose is my favorite part I think. I like the way the loincloth is draped over top of his feet.

A very nice Ermac design and artwork over all. The coat looks really cool on him and adds to his characterization as a mystic instead of being an MK ninja palette swap. Very cool. ^^

I love that it takes elements from his most recent costumes and runs in that direction, away from the classic pallet swap ninja look. The pose is great, the drawing itself is excellent and once again, I admire the attention to detail. Great job!

The Design is great, not too far off MK9/MKD but enough to notice.

I love the shoulder pads & coat. Not liking the orangey part on his chest. My Favorite thing about this though, is his skin colour. Looks sick.
