Hello!

Man... I managed to make teapot in 3D Max once (a looong time ago), and that was only because it was one of the default objects.
Great job, man.

P.S. I never understood what was up with that anyway. I mean; boll, cube, cylinder, pyramid... teapot. Que?

Very cool. I just finished my Graphics course in college and it was cool, but it wasn't all easy so I know how hard it is to make extensive 3D models. We used OpenGL though. Keep up the good work and e-mail me when you get Sindel finished.

That is some serious amount of work inthere. Wonderful job on the texture and the details. I give you 5/5 aswell.
Thanks for the comments.

I can do much better than that now. It seems like every time I make a new model, it comes out way better than the last.

Eventually I want to be able to do photoreal models. I'll get there eventualy, it just takes practice and heart.

Here is an example of the last low Poly model I made.
It looks much more realistic than Rain. The difference is in the texture maps. I made Rain in 2 days, and this head I did over 1 night from start to finish. I'm like a bat, I like to work at nightsmile

Hey- you are Talon right?
The finished model looks great. You should make that cloud effect more bluish like water maybe? not that it matters :)
Man, that's awsome. Every time I see your artwork I get amazed. Pretty good cousin.
5/5 Dragon Points.

Peace.

you should start a new site:
how to make kickass models in 3DSmax.. I would definitely become a regular visitor;)

Greetz and respect
I can make it more bluish, It's very easy to change that.

If I can get to my site I'll update the animation.

For some reason, I can't get to my site's editing page though. I keep getting an error page.

It was working fine last night, and all of a sudden it stopped working.

You can still go to the site, but I can't edit it.
I don't know what's going on.
I'm talking about the "Extra Gallery" I might just upload it to boomspeed for now instead.

That's great. I've done some modelling in milkshape 3d and had loads of trouble with animation- the arms on yours seem to work great- do the shoulders and hips have problems in extreme positions? (eg doing kicks, arms above head)

Nice low poly head too.
I had problems with joints like the shoulders and hips when I first started using Biped, and Bones, but now I can do it just fine.

You just have to learn how to set up the envelopes just right, and set correct weights for individual points.

It works best if you set up the envelopes when the character is posed.

The only thing I don't like are the legs. They seem too short and, to me, make him look smaller and less powerful.

Awesome creativity when it comes to details and textures man. The design is very original and I wish to see this on Mk6 if Rain where to ever return which I doubt, but at least on the krypt.

Btw whatever happen to your Sindel project?

The length of his legs is are Anatomically correct. I used a real person as reference. If I made the legs longer it would be stylized. I could try it though just to see how it looks. Sometimes stylized looks better.

I started texturing Sindel, but I got tired of working on her so I stopped.

I'm thinking of redoing her though from scratch with the new techniques that I know now. Maybe make her a high poly model. Like in the select screen in MKDA.

Oops. I was completely wrong. It's not the legs. I just saw them from behind in the animation. The legs are fine. It's the wide flap in the front that makes his crotch look lower. Sorry.

THAT............IS..........

A-FUCKING-MAZING!!!

Man the animation si flawless, and the design is just bad-ass. Thats fuckin how they should make Rain look if he ever returns in MK6, i hope some of the game creators see this
To peterbi Yes I am Talon, I think I was also Leirbag, a long time ago, but I'm not sure if it was on this site.

Thanks for the comments.
My technique is Box modeling. Although I don't always start from a box.

For things like the head, I make a small plane on the tip of the eye lid. Then I spread out from there. Just Shape it, then extrude, Shape, then extrude........

For things like arms, I use a 6 sided cylinder and I extrude it down the length of the arm then shape it. After that it's small tweaking like Cutting lines and moving points around so it looks like the muscles.

This probably sounds very confusing.
I'll look around and find some tutorials for you to check out.

Go to 3D total.com

Go to the Tutorial section under Free stuff at the top of the page and to the left.

Go down to the Complete Projects section.
Under that you will find the two techniques that I use. I combine the two when I model.

Modelling Joan of Arc by Michel Roger.

“LowPoly Character Modelling” by Ben Mathis.
