I think you could still use a wave recorder and MAME at the same time but it just might take a while to load. On my 1.8Ghz it takes about 15 seconds for the recorder I use to load up and respond if system hog MAMe is running.

How do I do them?
Heh, with great patience, lol. They just take more and more time each one I do. I hope it's because I'm getting better, lol, or something's just seriously wrong.

I use Macromedia Flash 5.
Get all the sprites, whop em in with a large collection of sounds and voila .

Is that something you buy at a softwere store or something you download?

You can buy it in the store, buy it online and download it or download it for free. One of those options is illegal.

I don't know how much the older versions cost, but the latest one, Macromedia Flash MX 2004 costs £419 or $499

http://shop.macromedia.com is the website.

Check Amazon for the older version. Or make friends with a Donkey.

Well, if you are thinking of starting animation, I would start with Gif animations first.

Flash is very hard to pick up. Once you do it's pretty much fine, but hard to start with. Gif's are much easier, and will give you a small headstart on flash, particularly the knowledge part, knowing how frames work etc.

So as I said, I recommend starting with Gif's, and perhaps even using genesis sprites. Only because they are much easier to use, smaller, easier to extract etc. And then move on to more serious animations once you've picked up the know-how on how to do them effectively, and then really start making some cool stuff. Then I would say move on to flash.

This is only my opinion though, but as I said, Flash is very hard to start with, and if the whole animation thing doesn't work out for ya, then you would have just wasted a hell of a lot of money (assuming you acquired it legally) on something that you may not want to use anyway.

Heh, gif is the file format. It's an animated image.

A Gif animator is what you'd be looking for.
There are some good ones out there for about £25, which I have no idea what that is in $, heh.

But there are also some free ones on the net.
I recommend using a free trial for starters, try www.download.com and search on "Gif Animator", there will be many results. Then just try one out smile.

Come on, Flash isn't that hard to use. Just take your time with it. I have been using it for a year and am still picking up stuff, but it was never that hard.

You could try animating in gif, but there is no sound, file sizes can be big for poor quality, low amount of frames. Complex animations can suffer from playback problems. Just try and 'obtain' Flash MX.
