Johnny Cages Adventures [comic series]
Johnny Cages Adventures [comic series]
Since I abandoned my old account, I figured I'd re-make my old comic thread. I'm still in the progress of updating these, although the updates will come rather slow. As you can tell, the style from season 1 to season 2 differs quite a bit (mostly in layout). I've dropped the old "speech bubbles", and actually made them... well, speech bubbles! Anyway, please leave comments! I'd like to know what you guys think of my series! =)

I got up to the 11th episode, and I like them. Althought they're not "lmao" kinda funny, they're throughly entertaining, imaginative, and kinda funny. Good job.

He placed the sprites in an orderly fashion meaning you could see everyone and it looks like they were placed at a spot where they are indeed noticeable. The backgrounds(no hard work at all) maybe looks like it took 40sec 1 min. max but I give you credit for everything. The character bubbles are cool very entertaining to look at and you can tell who's talking.
Sprite work,backgrounds,etc.-5/5
The jokes,eh...not funny at all.I did not even crack one tiny smile. You really need to work on your comedic side. The comics are not so entertaining. When I got to Episode 11 hoping it would get funny in one comic strip my happy bubble burst.I read from Episode 1-11 then I could not take it anymore. The jokes were mediocre and unsatisfying,I hate to give you such a bad score on the 'jokes' ,but I think it was worth it.
Jokes-1/5
Overall I'd say this would earn a solid 2/5.Work on your what you're going to write instead what sprites you should put.Work hard on the entertainment and you will succeed

...-_-" I'm not giving you a score overall and adding it together...I'm giving you a score for the writing part mostly, you know you have to read comics as much as you have to look at them you know.Do you want to know why I gave you a 2/5?I was generous enough to give you a 2/5.This is by-far the worst 'comic series' ever made that I've seen so far.I was just trying to help with my other post ,but apparently criticism offends you and you just have to try to insult the other person...1/5<<The Actual Comic Score

I thought the very first one with Smoke was very funny. Then number two was mediocre, and so was everything that followed. You get props for not making comics that look like grainy jpg shit, but unfortunately your writing is not that good...but looking back at my comics, neither is mine.
6/10, this board has seen much worse when it comes to comics.

Selective reading is very funny. I find it that I make more positive comments than negative.
Of course since I make a big fuss about the bad stuff, like writing big posts to explain what's wrong with them, that's what you'll pay attention to.
Anyway, so far you've seen people that agree with me on this. I think my opinion is a lot more ''noted'' now than it was when you typed that up huh?

3/5 was your "actual" score, mate. You first made it 2/5 because you suck at math, and now you're lowering it even farther to get back at me for pointing out your error. Really, I wasn't mad at you for trying to help out. It's sad that people can't take comments like "Go back to math class, buddy!" as a friendly joke anymore.
But now that I see you're more immature than I thought, now I'm starting to get mad. To lower an already-set score because you think it'll make you feel better just makes you look stupid, and makes it so that your criticism hardly even matters.
@ the people backing him up and calling me harsh:
I don't take offense to criticism, I take action for idiocy.
@ Zentile
Nope, it's pretty much just the same.
I've gotten plenty of reviews with good feedback and awesome ratings, just because a few people don't like my comics doesn't mean I think more highly of their opinions. But as I said before, it's still noted.
You guys are missing the point of "overall" rating, its not that you just add all the points together, its what you think about the overall thing that you are rating, if someone gave them a lot of 5/5's before, then I strongly doubt they will give overall 0/5
Some people sometimes average out the whole ratings together, but I just tell them what I think about the art/project/whatever in all the aspects, the rating can be pretty random as well, because you combine both positive aspects, and both negatives aspects, it depends what you think of both, for example:
If one review gave someone a 4/5 for something, and 0/5 for art or something else that they hated a lot, put them in the overall score, he begins to realize how bad the art or whatever ruined the game/thing/project and did not care about the other thing he rated on because of this and its up ratting it a 2/5ish
Anyway, I am not good at explaining stuff in text, as you can see, but I did what I could.

If someone is giving you a detailed response and rating, and they supply different ratings for separate categories, the combined total of those numbers is what the overall rating is. An overall rating isn't:
5/5, I liked the art.
4/5, I like the concept.
So overall that's a 3/5, cause you got some stuff to work on.
No.
And at your response to my previous post, have you EVER heard of exaggeration? 5/5 + 1/5 = 3/5, not 2/5. What's so hard about that?
When you see some reviews around here, you mostly see:
Nice concept, but the art was lacking. 5/5
It just doesn't fucking work.

you're obviously taking this WAY too seriously, first off, computers suck showing feelings, so people wouldn't technically understand that what you just said was exaggerated. people don't have to make sense when raiting you on your work. i'm not being rude here, but you're making a big scene out of something that's so pointless. i'd be laughing if you came back to insult me... because there's really no point. but i'm just saying people don't have to make sense when raiting you. just be happy that they give you points instead of nothing. just be proud of that.

Now, if you consider this an insult, I'll definitely be laughing.
When people are rating others it doesn't have to make any sense? Haha, right. That's like going to one of Jax007's art submissions, and rating it a 0/5 just for the hell of it. It does have to make sense.
Let's take for an example, official critiques. Book critiques, to be specific. It would make absolutely no sense to go up to the author of the book, and tell them something like this:
"I didn't read your book, but I can pretty much tell that it sucks by noticing the type of font you used. 0/10."
Don't try to make a point when what you're saying makes no sense.
Oh the irony of it all =/
@Zentile
USUALLY when people say "overall", they combine the scores that they have for the separate categories (if they rated by category) and total them up.

Oh the irony of it all =/
@Zentile
USUALLY when people say "overall", they combine the scores that they have for the separate categories (if they rated by category) and total them up.

you're obviously taking this WAY too seriously, first off, computers suck showing feelings, so people wouldn't technically understand that what you just said was exaggerated. people don't have to make sense when raiting you on your work. i'm not being rude here, but you're making a big scene out of something that's so pointless. i'd be laughing if you came back to insult me... because there's really no point. but i'm just saying people don't have to make sense when raiting you. just be happy that they give you points instead of nothing. just be proud of that.
