Feels like forever since anyone's made any fakes.

The Kano sprite looks really good, captured Goddard's Kano very well. The fatality itself is nice and bloody, I like the bones popping out of the chest. Blood is well done.

It would have been nice if you'd done a little more editing of Jax (Possibly movie Jax?), and a more customizated background, though I often do the same and just copy elements from different backgrounds. It's not necessary but it would be nice.

The lifebars look good. It was good of you to use MKA Kano rather than trying to draw hair on Rich Divizio.

Also, the shadows lack heads. Oversight I'm sure.

If you like ratings, I give it 4/5.

A nice simple, achieveable concept with good execution is better than some of the more elaborate concepts that fall short. Hard not to like the Goddard version of Kano!

Editing Jax would be a good idea to enhance the overall piece.

I love the effects, great editing that looks exactly like movie Kano. But ehre's where I get techincal and asshole-ish

The fatality, it looks nice and bloody, but the chain of events don't string together. The knife in Jax's face appears to have just been inserted thanks to the sputing of blood, yet how could that be if Kano's hands are already full? Did Kano disect Jax with one knife, stab him in the face with the other, than rip his heart out, all in a matter of seconds? Not to say that's not cool and all, just could've made a bit more sense. And while I do understand WHY you used Kano's MKA pose and Jax's MK3, it conflicts a bit too much.

Like I said, it feels like forever since there have been any fakes on MKO, so while it might seem like nitpicking, I see it more as... encouraging.

Not bad, not bad at all.

The edited parts are great, what hasn't been edited is meh, but who cares it's a fake. Fakes like these are a dying art form around here...What a shame.

I like this fake a lot. Love the color balance, love the contrast of grittyness and cleanliness of it.

I ́m glad you didn ́t edit Jax further from changing his silly-colored pants, because first of all I ́m not a big fan of editing for the sake of editing because it can take away from the main point. Also, i ́m glad you didnt change Jax so we can have a clear reference point for the gore. A bunch of times I edit a character and then I add the fatality blood and guts effects, and you cant tell what is what. For example, say he made this Jax like movie jax and gave him like a bullet proof vest. Then, the amazing broken bones sticking out of him could be straps of the vest or something like that. Takes away some clarity. The best way to showcase FX is to have a neat and clean sprite, at least I think.

The Kano sprite awesome and plain, but in a good way, as in earthy, mundane, much like Kano should be. And it goes with the stage, with the grittier floor and the more realistic scenary in the BG.

The only thing I don ́t like about this fake is how the shadows seem to slip under the step. This is kind of an optical illusion that is kinda distracting.

Not to derail the thread but....



It's summer and I'll be stopping by from time to time...Nothing major. Things are too slow to keep me interested. Though I will say that I'd like to make a fake by summer's end... Not guaranteeing anything though.

uugh those shadows.. you're all right they really need to be fixed up. thanks for all the positive feedback, if i can customise jax's pants to look more army/camo I'll edit the fake, but I'm prbably keeping everything else as is (except the shadows). i actually went through about three other really customised backgrounds before setting on this simple one cos it was going to get darkened anyway, and i didnt want the focus to be drawn too much away from Kano.

Wow nice job on this one. That is one vicious fatality that I wouldn't mind seeing kano perform in the new Mortal kombat game (2011). I thought you might be slacking on your last few fakes but you really pulled through on this one. Definitely one of the better Kano edits in recent memory.

OT: Well regardless, it's always nice to see an MK veteran still around. And same here, bro. I hope I get to drop something soon. But it's been hard, (fedegita knows my struggles ).

Man it would be cool as hell seeing you guys make fakes again. But yeah, real life and all that jazz. Plus as much as I'm loving the new MK game so far, it's heavy focus on the first three games doesn't really give much inspiration for new fakes.

I soooo want to do something. But I doubt it will be a fake pic. I'm into animations as I feel it gives me more creative freedom to experiment with different effects and ideas. I'm still waiting for my laptop tho.
