deadly_dragon asked me to make a Kintaro sprite for a VS screen on a Mugen MK game.
I used Goro's bio from MKD as the base.
I made the armor in 3D.
Took me like 6 hours to do the whole thing.

Wow, great! I can see a couple of errors in the cut-out process though, like the white edge on the top of Kintaro's head and the side of his arm. Still a good job though...

That's not an error, It's back lighting.
For an example of back lighting, look at Scorpion's head on the left of this screen. In the Site Themes section.
Scorpion has a back light that's making an almost white outline around his head.
I'll take another look at it though, maybe I'll take it out.

OK, I took out the outline.

Photoshop CS has an awesome new tool that I used to fit the MK4 Reiko costume on to John Turk's body.
The tool makes a wire frame over an image and you can move the points around, just like with CV curves in Illustrator, and it will deform the image.
It was the perfect tool for the job.
The spikes and everything else, I painted by hand, but now that I figured out how to use 3D instead, I wont have to paint as much anymore and things will look even better.

Wow, I thought that Reiko's pose looked different from what I remembered! Good job Bleed, especially with Kintaro! You should consider submitting these as fan submissions!

Did you guys put Kintaro in the game already? Playable?

His body is Goro from the MKD bio screen on the Game Cube.
The metal parts of his armor I made in 3D then rendered out and used it to put over the goro image.
Then I colored, cut, blended...... everything to make it match.
