Apparently everyone wants Sophita in their MK games too ......

Lol seriously... I REALLY dont see how ppl find her similar to Voldo... other than being bald. Shes not in bondage, doesnt bend backwards, doesnt wield a weapon, and is not mute.

Anyway, here is my biased (obviously i like mah baby first lol) voting:

Picked Komodo as my second fave since I like the idea of switching genders, and I think its the best saurian concept ive seen in a long while. The peacocking fin idea i think is great and love the pants fatality :D

Then Onyx for originality, cool move set and cool look.
Neuros, for his cool look, back story and cause i love his weapon (I had trouble picking one of these two... i liked them both).

Shade has cool moves, nice story, and i like the toothed gloves. Kimya was cool, liked his look and the animal moves, I just wish he had more animal spirit moves, I would have put him higher up.

Bachi Li had cool powers, and the color warrior reminded me of Tattoo Assassins lol. Levyathan's look for some reason stuck to me and i liked it, so he's next.

Lonin Regon and Clyde were cool, I liked their stories and i liked Clydes look and Lonin's watch. Eternus had a cool move with the spirit hands, but his look as the orange ninja didnt really stick w me. I wish he had a more personal style. Alexandra and Psionic are last because she looks like Sophitia/Alexandra, and altho I like her ghost move, Ive never been a fan of the young girl warrior type (like Li Mei) and Psionic is also another ninja, and has Ermac-Kenshi powers.

Obviously this ranking is totally based on personal taste and opinion, and doesnt reflect the quality of the characters necessarily. Also for me moves and look are most important, so those whose moves and looks i found the most interesting were my favorites.

The Sophitia comparison is more accurate than Voldo. I don't get Voldo from Adsler at all... Voldo is a simple minion with odd movements, a lot of spinning, girating, etc... and has big clunky claws as weapons. Also, he's a man, and he wears a thong. Adsler wears no clothes, has bones that move around under her skin, has masks hidden in her chest(?), and uses quick jerking motions in between her swaying. Story wise they are nothing alike, the only real similarity is swaying.....

Yeah the Sophitia was a given, but with Voldo the similarities in the movement (Voldo jerks and sways) and looks (a plain doll). That's my only things I've found similar, other than that, if she was in the game I wouldn't want to throw up at her repulsive moves. (I don't mean that in a bad way)

13: Adsler: The concept, the look, the gameplay, all of them are great. But i have some issues with the story. Basically, why is she trying to restore her gods now if they've been weak for ages? It's the only weak point, with the ending. She is still amazing, i really really like her and think she is the best of this

12: Onix: With him i didn't like the fatalitys that much, and i didn't like the relation to Shang Tsung on the bio, it sounded forced, but in the ending it fits perfectly. I see a lot of potential for him, its a great charachter.

11: Komodo: I love the gameplay, its amazing. The idea of switching back and for bettwen the male and female version reminds me of my charachter. The short story at the begining is amazing, but its not a bio. Happily the ending does great in placing the charachter in this timeline.

10: Clyde: While i don't like the charachter that much i think he is the one who fits best in the game.

9: Shade: I like the mistery surrounding this charachter in his bio, and the rest is OK.

8: Neuros: He has some moves that scream "Havik". His story tells just to many things, some of them unnecesary. His ending didn't convince me either, with that god of madness thing. I like his look, though, and with some work i think he could be a great charachter.

7: Alexandra: She would be an amazing DLC, but for Soul Calibur. She is great, but really does not fit in MK.

6: Lonin Regon: I have two mayor problems with this charachter. One is that i find all that focus in the brawlin boring and unnecesary. The other is his watch.

5: LEVYATAN: I like his look, his fatalitys, but his story really kills him for me. I find him to be a really boring charachter.

4: Eternus: His storyis great, but what i really didn't expect to see in this tournament was another rainbow ninja. Sorry that is a no no.

3: Kimya: He doesnt belong in MK, at least not from my point of view. He reminds me of those cartoons for kids, like captain planet and such. Not that he is a bad charachter, but i just don't see a future for him in the game.

2: Bachi Li: When i read the first sentence of his bio i thought he would be an amazing charachter, but then i really found him very similar to Rain with that purple thing, i found his story to be weak and i don't really like his moveset, not sure why yet.

1: psionic: Another Rainbow ninja, with no description on figting style and specials that makes him look to similar to Ermac, but far more overpowered. His story reminds too much of the Dark Fenix, its not bad, but its just doesnt feel fresh.




Before any complaints, i want to say i'm not trying to be rude, i'm just being honest on what i think about the charachters. I would like to more detailed comments on the charachters in the future, but this time there were just too many, so i pointed the things i found more relevant. Good luck everyone!



And with the Adsler and Voldo similarityes, is that they both sound like an unortodoxe fighter. Even if the moves are not the same, not even similar, her strange moves and even her look reminds me of him, but with a MK style. For an example i could give the ultras in SSFIV and Xrays in MK. ITs not that they are the same, but the Xrays are like a MK version of SSFIV ultras. I feel she would be something like that, wich is great since i love Voldo :P

To be perfectly honest the only 3 that genuinely captured my attention and seemed to genuinely fit into the Mortal Kombat universe was the first 3 I voted for. Top marks for effort with everybody, but the top 3 of my votes seemed to appeal most to my own tastes.

And we're back. Okay, so to elaborate on my scoring. You can think of them as split into three sections.

The top 5 are characters who I find to be original AND who pay the entry fee with their bio, a concept I mentioned in the main topic. From there they are ordered by who I'd be more interested in both playing as and seeing grow over the course of the series.

Neuros gets highest marks here for interest in his development as a character. As a side note about his bio, THIS is how to make kreated-kharacter interactions with kanon kharacters as far as I'm concerned. They're incidental from the perspective of the overall story, which makes it logical that this has never been mentioned in the story before, however they play a MAJOR role to the character himself, providing his motivations and drive.

Komodo gets highest marks for interest in playing the character. S/he doesn't violate any of my personal rules for kreated kharacter biographies as far as I can tell and is actually pretty creative in both concept and play style.

No complaints for Onyx. I don't think he's out of place in this game, I do, however think he'd be much more at home in War Gods.

Shade is a little on the overdone side, but thankfully only in terms of fiction in general, he's pretty solidly unique in the MK stables.

Clyde is another kak-kanon interaction done right, and he fits well in the universe. But I, personally, wouldn't be too jazzed about playing as him. Also he seems much more Appalachia than Louisiana.

This next section are characters that didn't quite make the entry fee, but have merits of their own.

Kimya: Incidental kharacter relationship with Hotaru and unexplained longevity. Otherwise a decently solid creation.

Bachi Li: Before I start, Neither Bachi nor Li are either Japanese given or Sur names. Li is not a Japanese word at all (Bachi are the sticks used on Taiko drums). Incidental encounters all over the place here. What I read when I looked over Bachi Li's page is "He knows Liu Kang, and Kung Lao, and Raiden... not that any of this is all that relevant." And that really kills my interest in him.

Alexandra: I'm sorry, but I got so many sue vibes off of her, not to mention the rewriting of MK canon. As far as playability I think you did a fine job, but I just wouldn't be too interested in seeing her progress as a character.

All the sophitia comments make me laugh. Sophitia is a mother of two children, married, blonde, and has a sister named Cassandra. How in the world is that Alexandra? the only commonality they have is a SWORD and SHIELD, and nice hair, but just because you have a character whos a gladiator, doesnt mean its Sophitia. Alexandra and Sophitita have two TOTALLY different stories. MY character lost her father at birth, was a mistress for Shao Kahn and was sacrificed by her own country. none of that happened to that Sophitia person, did it? No. lol. Its the same thing with how people are saying Adsler is like Voldo, they have a very minute similarity( the body movements) and yet people are calling the character Voldo. Its kinda messed up. Not to mention, Sophitia is a helluva lot older than Alexandra. Theyre not even in the same league as eachother. Lemme just make this clear in case you havent read her bio....Alexandra is a SLAVEEE..she was one of kahns mistresses. Another thing, Sophitia doesnt use spears...Alexandra does. Sophitia doesnt have a ghostly spirit inside of her.....Alexandra does. Oh and also, Alexandra's FIRST name is Sophitias LAST name, thanks to jpetrunak so bluntly pointing it out. Whats funny too is when I was naming her, I was thinking of one of my good friends named Alexandra and i knew the name was greek, I forgot to put this in her bio, but her full name is Alexandra Ambrosia.

Um ... how about the fact that Sophitia's last name in Soul Caliber is fucking ALEXANDRA !?!

i agree, i dont mind criticism. But this has gotten to a point where people are making some very angry comments. Its really immature and hurtful. I just wish people would understand the feeling of having their character bashed about little things such as their freakn name! Some people dont have anything better to do than insult others. Regardless, when I see all of the other characters, I'm not going to do to them, what some people are doing to me. I wouldnt want those people to have the feeling I'm having, and probably some of the other bashed entrants. I thought everyone on this kreate a kharacter forum was FOR eachother and supportive. i was wrong.
