I actually think that Rain can't really be made into a Cyborg. Not because his story wouldn't fit, but because of it's colors. A purple/black cyborg as you show in your drawing, looks a lot like Smoke. And the only way to change the two concepts from apart would be a whole different cyborg layout (different mask, body, weapons, etc). But besides that little error, I think it is pretty cool. But I would keep the cyborgs with the cyborgs, and the ninja's with the ninja's. You need to do a little better with the outlining and colouring. He looks a little dented up too (IMO). Take your time on the colouring, and make sure that his format is as best as possible. I recomend drawing him very lightly at first, then change the mistakes you made. Once your happy with it, outline your drawing in darker pencil, that away there isn't any eraser marks, which makes it look sloppy. Take this advise, and your next character drawing/concept will be even better.

As I look closely into it, I see that you made the cyborg have muscles. It would be better if you didn't add that in next time, cyborgs are made out of metal, and can't expand their strength, they are set with impacted strength, and they have to stick with it (unless they get modified). Next time you make a cyborg, make the whole arm look even and smooth, as a cyborg should look.

Ok, interesting observation I only have to disagree with you on one little point.The part where you said Cyborg's don't really have muscles, originally they look smoother an stiffer but in MK:DA Cyrax looks beefed up a bit if you noticed.His muscles are noticably larger.

Smoke in MK:D is not as big, he looks more robotic.


Like I said though, I don't like drawing that much I think I suck at it personally lol.My main gig is sculpting.Sometimes I tend to rush when I draw though I admit.

You're a good sculptor but you really have no hope in drawing. This just looks like a combination of the MK3 robots and MKD Smoke, coloured a bland purple colour. On top of that the concept doesnt make sense to me. Why would someone who has power over water and rain be transformed into a cyborg? Wouldnt he just fuck up every time he acidentally splashed water over himself? Go all bzzzt fzzzt electriction and that? The cyborg concept was crap to begin, and the last thing we need is characters who so desperately need some originality to be turned into cyborgs. (yes, i admit it. But Rain's still my fav character)

Its a good idea, the whole cybourg thing is big. People alwyas try to make cybourg versions of other characters just by doing pallete swaps, but you went to the trouble of drawing one which i like.

I gotta admit it does look a lot like Smoke, maybe you could have used more purple or a deeper purple but the whole idea is good.

As Black Rose said it would be nice to see a sculptor version of this!

Right....yeah so you're telling me a fan like you is sooo much better, a true fan will stick with what ever he or she likes or claims to be a fan of unlike you.I never denied Deception needs work, it's just people on here that have every MK in the future already judged based on Deceptions flaws is silly if you think about it.People think that because MK:A has the same engine that that means more and more glitches automatically.Come on now lol.That's not fair, first off the game isn't even out yet, second there are things being implemented like parries for example to help prevent a lot of screwed up stuff in deception.

Please, please please dont put words in my mouth. That's one of the things I hate most when people do. What part of my comments made you think I wasnt a fan and that I hated all of mk's gameplays? I love every single MK game dearly before MKD, and MKDA is my personal favourite. I dont bash the MKDA's gameplay, becuase i feel everything else in game was perfected (plot, character design, character story, etc).
MKD not only screwed up the gameplay, but it shat on character, story, the whole damn MK legacy. I've been obsessed with MK since I was 6 years old (minus the last 2 years) so I'd say I have every fucking right to judge MKA before it comes out because by now I know exactly what to expect from the MK team. Dr Phil says you can't predict the future but you can measure it by what's happened in the past. If I have evidence that MKD was a piece of shit and they're taking less than 2 years to make the next game (with 60+ characters by the way, more than 2x that of MKD) I'd say I'm pretty much set to expect the next game to be piece of shit too. I dont know how many other fans would agree with me but that's how I feel.
My main problem with you is that your loyalty to MKD is backed up with nothing more than the same senseless crap over and over again. "oh i know its not perfect, what game is? And the worst part about it is that YOU are the type of fan that the MK team is targetting at today. Am I the only person who liked MKD? IMO it was better than MKDA any day of the week the combo system was better konquest was better it had better characters it had breakers instead of them bloody reversals and things it didn't have impales it didn't have mokap and who cares about infinite glitch combos just don't do them!

Anyway, back on topic, if the guy wants to draw rain as a cyborg who cares if the game already has three cyborgs and it's kind of illogical because he controls water, it's not like he's an midway character designer he just felt like it! As fans we should want everything improved, and not neglect everything else and concentrate on one thing.When you're a GM of a baseball do you want pitching or hitting improved?Remember if you choose pitching then you'll suit for shitty hitting?All that pitching for nothing, if you choose all hitting with mediocre pitching or poor pitching then you'll lose a LOT of games.

You see it's about balance, and not just in gameplay terms, you have to want a balance in the whole game now since it's not just oldschool MK anymore where there was ONLY Mortal Kombat fighting mode.Now you have KAK, konquest, online play, arcade mode, vs MK mode and a new secret mode that hasn't been revealed yet.Among other things like newer characters, costumes, better arenas, more interactive arenas etc.

So, to me just saying Midway improve JUST the gameplay and nothing but is silly and selfish IMO.I feel the same way about fans that only care about Motaro's costume as well.

Fans like this hurt the game because it makes Boon wonder if he should concentrate on one thing MORE then the other or not.He even admitted that he want's everything improved.Konquest, Gameplay in Mortal Kombat, online modes and options, KAK, KAK online, and just everything in MK:A man.

So, I'm sorry if it offends you but I'll always defend MK or Boon when I see a fan post things like improve just this or just that or MK will suck from here on out because in reality that's just not fair to other MK fans or Midway for that matter.

My main problem with MKD isn't infnites, in fact I'm such a sucky player that i didnt even realise infinites existed until i read this forum more closely. What i hate about MKD's gameplay is the 50/50, lack of wakeups (like u said), the lame dial-a-combos, and just the fact that i think most fighting styles are pointless and suck to play with. Obviously you like some of the stuff i hate, so we'll have to agree to disagree. That just comes down to a matter of opinion.

At MKF: I think I have a clearer understanding now about where your opinion lies now. To some extent I'm like you too, I love all the different things to do with MKadn I actually like the story + characters more than the gameplay itself. To me THATS the thing I want them to work on most and get right in every game.

The reason why i'm so enfuriated at the MK Team is because they virtually fucked up everything that I think is important (Gameplay AND character/story) in MKD. Like you said, it would be stupid if they only worked on one thing, but i think the gameplay needs the most attention, even more than the crappy stories and half-assed character designs they did for MKD. I do see it from other peoples views the best I possibly can.Often most are extreme with one thing or the other if you noticed.Not even saying you or myself or anyone in particular just in general.

Most on the MK:A boards are more concentrated on what ever they enjoy the most.For some it's gameplay, others it's storyline, others it's costumes, others it's strickly online play and options.

So, you see most aren't really open to the fact that there are other fans besides them, and ALL of our voices should be heard and not just the fans that care about just one thing and one thing only.

My message to Ed boon.Listen to all the MK fans, not just the storyline ones, or gameplay ones improve everything to the best you can do.

I judged something a long time ago before it came out and I looked foolish for judging it in a negative fashion and the game was really good.

Other times I used to ASSUME a lot about certain people when I was younger, now I know it's wrong.I was judging a book based on it's cover which is silly to me and IMO now.


So, I look back and see my mistakes or possible mistakes and say to myself I'll never do this again.

So I guess when I see other people judging something before they know everything 100% about the subject, whether it's liking me or hating me or a new car or MK game coming out it sometimes frustrates me to read these negative predictions.

My honest opinion.
