Maybe you know I hired a Korean illustrator, He did a nice job for MK Zero!
This is his new version of MK Zero selelection, Korean languages options,
We also doing job for International version and Japanese for MK Zero.

I gotta say. I too liked the old one better.

apart from the character info in the new one i prefer that, the old one doesnt shout mk to me as its way too bright and colourful
I must be the only one then that likes the new one a lot more than the old one. As said before, the old one was too bright and colourful.
Also, I don't like how it says "races", maybe you should just change it to "alignement". Just a thought. Or you could use both

I really like the new one better than the old one.

I like the new one much better. I like the Illustrations better also.
It still needs something though...
Maybe something animated in the background.
Maybe some complex spiny looking designs or carvings around.
Maybe flashes of different things in the background, like a skull, a silhouette of an attack, lightning, a storm.
Something...
I just think it's still a little bland at the moment.
Is the game playable yet? Can we see a match vid?
How does it play, can you describe it, what game does it compare to the most?
King of Fighters, MK2, UMK3, Street fighter 3 ???

I'm thinking something like this, with a lot of detail.
I made it real quick, so it's not perfect, but you get the idea.

Things that would be animated in this select screen would be:
The fog
The rain
Lightning and thunder flashes in the sky.
The entire screen could flash once in a while for a close up thunder.
The blood lake would be animated also. Take video of a lake and loop it.
The markers for the select boxes could be flashing, not too fast though.
When you select a fighter, the little select box flashes a few times.
The fire in the background would be animated also.
The large character picture boxes are Glass, you can see the thunder flashes in the background through them.
The small select pictures can be shrunken or cut in half vertically or horizontally to make more characters fit.
Or you can just make some of them secret fighters.
You can use this design if you want, or maybe it will help to come up with other ideas.

Are you taking ides for special moves? I'm sure we could all help to come up with new moves and fatalities for MKzero.
I know I have a ton of ideas I could share.
Do you have a video clip of the game playing yet?

Also I was wondering, what system are you using to make this game, Mugen?
Can you do smooth transparencies or is it all just visible or not visible?
The game would look so much better if you can use gradation transparencies.

I'm looking for MK Zero's personal engine, with transparent supports. And maybe 320x240 screen res.
'brand-new engine' contains 'Fatilities/Friendship/etcs' algorisms and lan/tcp-ip supporting multiplayer.
I'll do this part of job like step by step.
But engine set is just 2nd problem. Graphical qualities(smooth physical acting/body ripping and many special effects) are very important right now. For this new-generation bloody fight game. Yes, graphical datas are serious parts of game construction.
Fighting rosters(including bosses/hidden character) are goes with new story but it's related old/current MKs.
MK Zero 2 and 3 or any next series of MK Zeros are come with large scales of old characters(Kano, Human/Dinosaur Reptile, Millena, Sindel, and so on) or new characters, certainty.
MK Zero 1 timeline is the beginning of new doomsday, so Shao Khan and DK are still not awakes(or 'died'). Shang Tsung is become final boss again in MK Zero 1. (it reminds MK 1) He got supports from new evil one for this new tournament, Hiroshi Takeshita, a rival of Raiden. He helps for returns of Kintaro/Motaro and True-evil Scorpion(Bloody Scorpion). And tournaments goes wrong for the final destiny of all of humanity at the next MK Zero series(reminds MK2, MK3).
And... yeah, I always want your helping acts for this project.

So MKZero1 is going the play the same as MK1 then?

I'd like to see an updated version of the fight engine.
Possibly add things like.
Throw miss animation
Throw escape
Run
Timed block= If you tap block right when your opponent attacks, you hear a new sound and you will recover faster. Sort of like the parry in stf3.
I'd also like to see original attacks for all the fighters. Like in street fighter.
You can keep it the old way with every body having the same attacks, but then add some original attacks also.
for example Scorpion
HP= Left jab HP. Tap fast for multiple punches.
HP+F = Right Axe uppercut from UMK3
HP+B = Left back fist from MK1
Then they also have the up close attacks.
HP (when close) = Left elbow uppercut to face.
The same goes with every button. It would be like the extra attacks in king of fighters, but still keeping all of the original attacks from MK1 and 2.
You can use this design for a lot of combo variations.
Some Street fighter and MK4 style cancel combos like
Punch ~ Fireball would be good too.
